Cath quickly checked to make sure Percy was okay, and then stepped out onto the street outside.

"Kitty, and Kaori. Leave them alone! They'll figure out eventually that they're both poor, and crushing on each other." She winced slightly... that had come out more cynically than she intended. Cath looked at Kendo imploringly. "But seriously, happiness is worth more than the daily price of a cup of coffee. And I'm offering you a job that would easily pay that price."

She didn't want to see them part ways like this.
It was never meant to be.

Percy slightly stumbled, wincing a bit. While it didn't really hurt, landing on the side of the hip got to him a bit. "It's fine..." he muttered, "just wait it out and hope all this stops too."

Kendo had already left. He was... really annoyed. He didn't want to deal with people any more. He was tired, and he didn't feel too good.

It was obvious. How could anyone like him? Theo clearly didn't like him. like always, it was just a fantasy. It was always his fault. There was another relationship broken.

Cath threw her hands up into the air, and walked back inside the coffee shop. This would make a great plot for a story, if she ever got around to writing again. She sat back down at the barstool by the counter, and glanced at Percy.

"I'm so sorry, are you alright?" She knew he had not liked the commotion made by the two Nekos.

As she grabbed her Russian tea from where she had left it, she met Theo's eyes. A disapproving stare was enough to get him to cry. If nothing else, Cath hoped that Kitty and Kaori would teach him some confidence.

"Theo... don't worry. He'll be back, I'll make sure of it."

But she was nervous for Kendo... Cath knew he was still not in a good place. She would leave him alone for now, but Cath resolved to email him later that day to check in with him.
It was never meant to be.

Percy had his hands covering his ears, whimpering a bit. Even at the corner of the wall he was at now, all that commotion rushed in his head. He bit his lips, realizing he might have actually hurt the side of his hip even after falling on his bag.

Cath stepped behind the counter, and simply hugged Theo. He had become a close friend in the year she had frequented the coffee shop. "Just breathe." She handed him a dishrag to dry his tears with, and nodded reassuringly.

She returned to her usual seat.

"Percy," Cath whispered, trying not to further overwhelm the small being. "It's okay, they're done now." She looked at him critically... was he hurt? He was putting his weight on one leg, standing unevenly.

Kendo was... so tired. what was the point? yeah, the job Cath gave him was good and all, but to be honest, money wasn't the main reason he didn't want to go back. He was tired of the same thing every day. Flirting, asking him out, rejection. It really gets to someone after a while.
