I was just looking through my Pokédex because I recently learned how to check how many of a Pokémon are on site and wanted to see which of mine are the rarest, and I came across some obvious bugs (Giga Alcremie’s sprite being shown for Alcremie (Ruby Swirl)) and some not-so-obvious bugs that I’m nevertheless sure must be bugs and which are really bugging me (sitewide frequency numbers that just can’t possibly be true).

I was given conflicting information when I asked about what the number without a star next to it in the sitewide frequency means, either that it means only the number of non-shiny Pokémon of that species that are on site or that it means the total number of Pokémon of that species that are on site, but, either way, I don’t see how some of these numbers could possibly be accurate:

The Pokédex entry for Regigigas says there are 736 shiny Regigigas and 808 non-shiny/total Regigigas on site—so, either almost every Regigigas on the site is shiny, or shiny Regigigas are almost just as common as normal Regigigas, according to this. And the Pokédex entry for Ursaluna says there are 22 shiny Ursaluna on site and 22 non-shiny/total Ursaluna on site—so, either every Ursaluna is shiny and my non-shiny Ursaluna doesn’t exist, or the person who told me that the number without a star is the total number of that Pokémon on site was wrong and it’s actually just the number of non-shinies and there is an equal number of shiny and non-shiny Ursaluna on site. The Ursaluna thing could be explained away, I suppose, but I can’t imagine what’s going on with the Regigigas entry, and I’m disappointed that it, along with the wrong sprites being shown, is making me doubt this info that I was looking forward to learning.

Because Regigigas is the egg obtainable from the first royal tunnel, it's easier to get the shiny version.

The number without a star only counts non-shiny non-shadow Pokemon.
So the sum of the shadow star+ shiny star + no-star is the total amount of this species on-site.

@SH1NYM, I thought it was Regirock that was obtainable from the first royal tunnel, and Regigigas that you have to summon from the Ancient Cave. Anyway, is the shiny ratio for Regigigas really skewed so that shinies are almost as common as non-shinies? Or did people release a ton of the non-shinies so they wouldn’t be on site anymore? Or is this number wrong and a bug?

@Riako, thank you for explaining that.

Because it's based on people's choices, nothing is certain, but it's entirely possible to summon a shiny Regigigas using a shiny Regi Trio without having summoned a non-shiny first.

It's likely that users just don't bother summoning a non-shiny one, explaining the weird ratio for it.

[I know this was moved to 'solved' but I figured I could explain how the numbers are not a bug]

So you’re guaranteed to summon a shiny Regigigas if you use a shiny Regi Trio to do it? I didn’t know that. That’s helpful information.
