Hi I wanted to ask for some help on how to select the spots where pokemon are there in tall grass, is there any particular way ? Also can I search for legendaries if I buy the Legendary radar chip ?

I don't think there's any particular method. The egg has a chance to spawn in any of the patches of grass, and each time a new field is spawned, the egg is placed in a set location, so if you get it wrong once, the egg will stay in the same place, so you can't click the same spot over and over again. I don't remember what it's called, but there is an upgrade you can buy for the radar that greys out areas you've already checked/nearby areas that don't have the egg in it.

As for legendaries, the simple answer is yes. There are certain legendaries you can find in the tall grass. It usually involves a special item such as a resolute stone(keldeo) or a meltan candy(meltan) for example. However, if you try to hunt say Kyogre, you can't, as it has a different method attached it.

The bonus item is called "Egg radar Tracker" and really helpful. Everyone has their own methods, I personally use the method from the Tall Grass Tool we used before the tracker was implemented. It's hard to explain, but you would start with a spot where you get eliminate as many spots with one click (usually as first step you take the third spot from a corner going diagonally). Because if the egg is far, the field is reduced to a L-shape and you repeat the first step with the directly opposite corner. Its really hard to explain with words, but if you want I could make some images to demonstrate my personal method
