Hi. I started breeding violedge, but the eggs are normal looking and are "hard" instead of event. Is this normal? Did I do something wrong? Please answer ASAP, I wanted to shiny hunt it!

Yes, this is normal. If you buy the egg scanner, you can scan the eggs to see if they are Violedge or regular eggs but they do only appear very infrequently unfortunately. Take it from me though, I have been hunting Maneki Espurr for over 6 months now, it is not fun. Good luck though! ^^

If you want to hunt Violedge, or any event pokemon for that matter, you're gonna need a wide lens and a lot of patience. Event pokemon do not have a 100% chance of breeding an event offspring, rather there is s small chance of getting the event, but more often the normal one. To hunt it, you need to scan every egg with a wide lens, and only adopt it if it comes back as a Violedge egg.

Alternatively, you could use an event pass, but that's more expensive
