Flicker of Hope (APL part 2)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Flicker of Hope (APL part 2)With the veggies safely delivered, Hyde was free to do as he pleased for a while. Stretching out his gangly limbs, he barely covered up a yawn and twisted his head this way and that relishing in the crack of vertebrae. The peace was so boring for him, mundane day to day life dragging its feet. It was a drag, not enough to keep Hyde entertained for long. For many people, it was a shock to learn that Hyde craved the thrill of battle and the rush of adrenaline that sated that deep sated itch within him, always sputtering about how his powers were suited to utility and support rather than belonging on the front lines. Hyde disagreed, however. His powers were exactly what was needed in the thick of battle, his constant regeneration providing him with the best defence anyone could hope for. Like hell he was going to put others before himself, Hyde wasn't that much of a goody-two-shoes. In a world like this where dog ate dog, one could only look out for themselves and kindness was a luxury that Hyde couldn't afford to share. Anyone who thought that they could survive on the charity of others was a fool. Letting out a breath from his nose, he reached into his pocket, he produced a multitool and flicked open the blade before meandering towards the entrance. Staying cooped up in a building wasn't really his thing either so he made his way outside to breathe in the stale air. Maybe today he would start a fight... wouldn't that be fun?
Alex worked in the kitchen, giving a small nod of thanks when Hyde had dropped off the vegetables. Noel came up behind Alex and wrapped her arms around her waist from behind, resting her head on Alex's shoulder, taking care not to hurt Alex's angel wings, which were much smaller than Ripley's wings. "Is the food ready yet? I'm hungry."
Alex laughed a little, a trickling sound escaping the human angel's lips. "Almost. Get the others rounded up."
Noel nodded and started to the wall and pushed a small button, a light lit up in all rooms by the kitchen icon, indicating that food was ready, or almost, and that they should go down so they didn't miss out.
Xavier was lucky that he bumped into Hyde at the moment he had flicked his multitool shut or else there would be quite the awkward predicament of having to explain why someone had a hole stabbed into them. Steadying the hurrying male by the shoulders, Hyde did a quick once over just to make sure that the other wasn't hurt. "It's no problem, sweetheart." He said smoothly, giving him a calm smile as he watched Xavier hurry away. He wondered why the other was in such a hurry but quickly discarded the thought. It wasn't any of his business what others did. Glancing further up ahead, he gave a wave to Taiko, spotting the other as he slipped the multitool into his pocket. "G'morning, did you sleep well?" He greeted heartily, his plans for chaos put on the backburner for now. For now, he would have to be the nice one and blend in with the peaceful atmosphere. Adrenaline and chaos could always be found someplace else.
Hyde wouldn't say that he was sad that no one really did like to talk to him, he wasn't, but a frown did tug on his lips. Was his bloodlust really that noticeable and offputting? Or did people just not like him? Tucking that thought away, he bypassed the kitchen and dining area entirely and made himself at home outside the compounds. By now, he supposed that most people assumed that he didn't eat and to an extent, he didn't. His constant healing and regeneration meant that he could regrow the dying cells within his body but he couldn't exactly live like that either. His powers multiplied what was already present, knitting back wounds through expedited cell division but it drew on his own energy reserves thus he would eventually have to eat and rest. But for now, he suspected that he could go another day or so before his body started to eat itself out seeking a source of energy. For now, he supposed that he would simply satisfy a different type of hunger and made his way towards the training area to mess around for a while.
Skyla was already there, shooting many, many moving targets, aiming to hit every single one. Her trusty Splat Charger shot ink out nailing the targets every time, her eyes flickered as a new one popped up. Not minding Hyde's presence she kept going, kept shooting the targets down. She moved with grace and ease, despite the fact she was wearing heels.
(think back to our HG rps, but much bigger. I also didn't get to come up with Skyla's image yet, but it's Agent 8 with the ponytail hairstyle, and yes she's an Octoling, haven't decided the color yet.)
After he had cleaned up he decided not to go back to the building just yet, instead he just climbed into a tree and laid down.
