"This one is called a Figy berry. It's spicy...if you like that
kind of flavour. Meaning it's hot..." Emerald said.
"Personally...not a fan of spicy berries."
"Spicy.." Rushelle continued poking it for a minute, then seemed to
solve a debate in her head. She picked up the berry and popped it
into her mouth. Chewing for a minute, she then swallowed and said,
"That was delicious!"
“Oh that’s nice, I’m glad you liked that one ^^. Least I know other
berries you could like as well...” Emerald said happily as he
watched her happy expression while she ate the berry
“...how much have you been sheltered Rushelle?” Emerald was frankly
shocked by this, and extremely sorry for her. He didn’t realise how
much of an effect her father had on her
“I’ll take you to the orchard. I’ll show you that they do grow on
trees...anything you don’t know, just ask me or dad! Or our
friends!” Emerald said happily
“Well, you always could ask, I’d be happy to answer, as I’m sure
dad is too.” Emerald smiled, though he was slightly anxious to how
Rushelle had been sheltered
Rushelle swiped her tounge with her paw. "I don't know how anyone
could like that. It was like eating dirt." She glanced at Emerald.
"Please don't ask me why I know what dirt tastes like."
“A-Ah...” He wasn’t certain if Rushelle would a sugar rush from
that. It certainly was far from the sweetest berry out there, but
he didn’t know the threshold. The last two berries were the sour
and bitter ones
Rushelle blinked a couple of times. "Wow, I.." she kept blinking.
"Y'know, evreything looks funny when you blink a lot." She giggled.
"All blinky and stuff."
“Oh geez... here comes the sugar rush.” Emerald put a paw to his
head. Why had he forgotten...?
Well, at least there was some balloons that wasn’t their beds that
could be destroyed if worse comes to worse
Rushelle giggled again, rolling onto her back and staring at
Emerald. She was still blinking furiously, and kept giggiling.
"Blinking makes evreything look funny. And when you do it really
really fast, the evreything looks all choppy. When you really slow,
it's kind of dizzzy, but not really and whee!" She threw her arms
up into the air, the fast talking turning to complete gibberish.
