Well, she seems to resemble a cat. The name for a female cat is a "molly", so maybe combine that with 'tra' to get "Molytra"? (I apologize if this makes no sense I'm like half asleep) :')

@TheLonelyFalinks Ooh, maybe like Sirenia for her name??? I don’t know, that’s just what came to mind. XD She seems to have quiet a few secrets up her sleeve so maybe she doesn’t talk much and if she does it’s normally one-worded responses to make sure nothing slips. At the same time she’s easily filled up and a bit of a hot head as well. That was me just spit balling so that’s basically the first impression I got after reading her info.

Thank y’all for the suggestions. I have them all typed into my notes so I won’t forget them.

I’ll probably come up with her personality based on her appearance and name.

Now can I please get some color suggestions? I’m thinking some darker shade of blue or purple with a contrasting color on the inside of the cape. However, last time I tried that I didn’t quite like the way it looked.

I’d love to hear (well...read) your suggestions. I really want this character to look good and be well thought out because she’s an important character in the series she comes from. So, I really need some good ideas. ~~no pressure or anything XD~~

I’m heading on to bed so I’ll read (and take note of) your suggestions tomorrow.

@TheLonelyFalinks Hm, I’ll take a swing at a color pallet for you! I find that a deep purple (like you said) reds, and golds often work together well and I would add a small accent of green as well. I made a visual version so if you’re ok with it I could show that as well to help you get what I mean.

@BlazetZet Oh yeah! So I know he’s human but do you have any other speciation you want about the design? I would help a bit of you were a bit more specific. Like maybe what general clothing styles they might wear, hair styles, Ect.

@BlazeZet hmmmm...a hoodie and jeans is usually my go to when drawing an outfit (and you wanted him to be wearing a hoodie). Maybe some glasses? A brown hair cut short and brown eyes? Idk, just an idea!

@BlackReshiram; she looks great! Sadly I’m not the kind of person for developing worlds so I don’t think I can help much there ;-; from her powers, though, I think of a city and a nice little battle in an alleyway >:D

I have the colors planned out, but I don’t know if I should add anything else (like the wings, although I don’t plan to lol) and what I should name her; Nebula is my top pick for now, I think, and I’ll cross Astro, Starlight, and Luna off the list as I don’t like those names now :’) I might make a world for her sometime later, if I want to draw something with lore ahahaha

@TheLonelyFalinks Maybe change the color of its bandana? Or add a unique accessory of some kind. Or maybe facial markings, like freckles. :/ Sorry I can't be more help.

His name is Motley, and he's a little Frankenstein creature. He's curious, energetic and very childlike, but is shy and scared very easily. Really the only thing I'm struggling with is a backstory for him.

@ZeeTheBee thank you for your input! It has been noted. As for Motley...well...I can’t really help ya there...Sorry! A lot of the stories I like to create are veeeeeeeeery dark and he doesn’t really seem like the kind of character to have a dark story around him. Again, so sorry! Good luck coming up with one, tho!

@TheLonelyFalinks I suggest for the bandana dee to maybe change the colour a bit (maybe a lighter or darker shade of orange or maybe even red) ,change the bandana colour, and/or maybe add markings on its body? If you want to keep the original colours maybe add things like a scar across its eye or like I said before, markings but as a darker shade of where you are putting them so you can still recognise it as a waddle dee/bandana dee.

Well sup, your local oc addict here-

I have a few questions, all about naming characters just to start maybe, a discussion of sorts?
Do you think of their names before you design them? or do you name them after their design has been drawn up?
Do you use commonly "human" names, or do you have your own personal "naming rule" of sorts? Do you just make up names from words/sounds?
Do you try to match your names to their personality, appearance? Or just names that you think suit them and don't necessarily match anything about them?
Do you often use name generators, or prefer making your own?

Am just curious to see other's naming methods and little things, since I have to go through on another of my "character naming" sprees since my amount of unnamed characters is getting ridiculous again.. xD

Good questions. Normally I design the character first before naming. I'm also the type of person that normally comes up with names based on their appearance if they are an otherworldly sort of character. However, if i am feeling awfully lazy, I might just think of a random name in my head and put my own spin on it.

I find naming humans harder so I normally give them basic human names like 'Erin' or 'Zach'

But yeah... I'm not really creative with names lol
