Event Distribution Points
Forum-Index → Suggestions → Event Distribution PointsCurrently, you have what I would say is 8 unique ways to gain event distribution points. These are;
Interacting
Games in the Game Center
Battling
Rumbling
Auction winning
Adopting eggs/Pokemon
Feeding a rare candy
Royal tunnel
Whilst these are all valid ways of gaining EDP, I feel like so many of them are under-utilized. For example, when there’s an event on, I will interact, treasure box, and then concentration, so I gain roughly 800/1200 an hour, occasionally more every 12 hours when my rumblers come back.
I can’t adopt eggs since I’m on a hunt, I’ve no rare candies to spare, I don’t have an interest in battling, the adopts at the beach is hard-capped, and the royal tunnel is difficult, even with the guide. This may seem like nitpicking, and it is, but I also think there should be to do to gain EDP. I’ll explain myself further.
People are constantly on hunts and event distributions are mostly random as to when they come around. Coupled with egg storages being extremely expensive, adopting to fill those isn’t a feasible goal for many.
Battling has been proven time and time again that it isn’t a major part of PH, it’s still a part but I don’t believe it’s 100 edp worth and it’s difficult to routinely find someone every hour to battle with repeatedly to get it to 100, especially since the average time spent on PH is around 40 minutes.
Rare candies are currently priced at 8k. There are three ways to get them, through the battle shop, which goes with the above or the Game Center, via treasure hunt and golden slots, both very rare chances.
Here’s what I would suggest changing.
Interacting - you’re doing fabulous sweety, don’t change
Game Center - also don’t think should change except increasing to 100 from 50
Battling - decrease down to 50, make rare candies part of this section
Rumbling - I’m not sure how to fix this one, there are not many items brought at lower times but the longer times take to long, especially at lower rumble levels. Would consider making it 1 for every 10 minutes of rumble time, so sending 6 rumblers for 10 minutes would get you 6 EDP, but this is rough.
Social - Keep AH even though it causes aggressive bidding for unneeded Pokemon. A possible solution, combine this with battling and make that section 100 max. Would consider adding EDP for things such as gts trades or gem exchanges, but concerns this could be abused by two people setting up trades, but this links back to an earlier point about battling, not always having that person.
Other - Keep adopting eggs from daycare and Rowan's lab and royal tunnel
Things to add;
Berry garden - Combine with other - 1 per berry harvested / 10 for bulletin board task completed.
Emera beach - Add adopting fish to this section, keeping or reducing the cap. 1 for trading an item with Leah and
Gem collector - Combine with other - 5/10 per Pokemon traded with Greg and increasing amount for stones made in the cauldron (1 for fire stone, 20 for mega) Another option includes 1 per gem traded.
One last note is that every single number here is subject to change, they’re not a carefully cultivated amount, it’s mostly just random that I think would be fair. Any suggestions, comments, and criticisms would be welcome. I didn’t want to remove anything outright, as just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean it should be removed or taken away from those who do, also implementing without removing anything would also increase the total points available per hour to 1400, which wouldn’t be that much an increase.
That said, thank you for listening to me rant!
And maybe for the berry garden, the dp you earn for the berrys are determined by the berrys level
If you dont have wings use your levitate ability
If you dont have two of those, fly an airplane or a helicopter
If you can't do that too, sleep
And fly in your dreams
If it's the first one, I support. I feel like, for something that can get you 200 Points, there aren't a lot of ways to actually get you that amount.
I also agree that Battling is given too much for the part of the website it actually takes in. Lowering the amount and given more to the Game Center sounds like a fair shift.
I think Rumbling could be adapted to include PD found. Of course not 1 PD = 1 point, but I find it weird you only get points for Items.

It also would be confusing where to sorta draw the line, like why is Game Center it’s own section but the entire emera beach or gem collectors is shoved into other. They’re all separate pages with their own identity, so classing them as other seems confusing to me personally.
As for rumbling, my main concern was that you only get lots of items at longer times and higher rumble levels, which takes time to build up, tying more points into pd again skews this, favouring those with higher level rumble areas.
.
There's also the placement of those new sections. As the Event Distribution is now, scrolling isn't really required [I think? Not really a phone user (':], but adding more categories might cause us to lose sight of what exactly gave us which points and make it more confusing.
Aside from the Battle Shop which helps with Battling, there's not really a reason to Battle. It's pretty self-contained. The Game Center allows you to save up for Legendaries [both non-shiny and shiny].
The addition of Game Center-stuff has always made more sense than the addition of Battling because the Game Center allows you to get things disconnected from the Game Center itself.

When I log in on my phone, there looks to be room for roughly two more sections before scrolling would be needed. It’s why I also considered combing battling into social, as they require two active players to participate.
I do agree that the berrygarden should be classed as other, when there’s possibly only one thing to do on it. The gem collector is also a possible for this section, but the other would then need to be increased to accommodate the influx of options now available to complete the section.
Possible solutions:
So, berrygarden moves into other
Battling combines with social
Emera beach becomes its own section to replace battling which has combined into one
Gem collector I’m still undecided on, I’d rather let riako decide if he decides to implement, as he probably has a better idea of how it would look.
I don't really agree that we'd need to be able to get more points, just because there's more methods to get them ^^'
I think that the Gem Collector technically falls under 'Other' when you adopt an egg. Putting a Gem Value to that [5 Gems = 1 Point, for example] seems like a double reward for a single payment.
So, again, I support the idea of more methods to get Event Distribution Points, but it seems that the details aren't really my cup of tea ^^'

I’ve never got the full 1200 points, so I’m inclined to agree with you about not needing more, if there’s now more ways to get them.
As for final execution that’s for the duck gods to decide
Hearting feeds, people would just go around hearting feeds they didn't really care about, defeating the whole purpose of it, which is showing that you liked a persons comment or feed and want to let them know without having to comment. This would also mess up most popular feeds, as it wouldn't be the most popular, just the ones people spammed with likes
Forum post - would just lead to spam, people don't post on the forum that frequently, unless in a role-play of some description, so would also be slightly redundant
Gift is very like my earlier idea of gaining ap per trade done, which could lead to people just setting up trades for each other. In the gift case it's worse, as you don't need to have the other person online, you could just keep gifting, which would be slightly annoying for the other person if you just spammed them with a 100 gifts of a single berry
Plushy - Not a bad idea, though I do think something is about to change with the dream world shop, but I like this idea. The amount of AP could be directly proportinal to the amount of dp spent, which would mean you wouldn't just send magikarps to spam other people, it'd be worth sending others favourites
With the auction, I just feel like giving it more points wouldn't work all too well, even at 3-4 you're still only looking at 15-20 an hour
For gifts, less scammable but equally as annoying for the other person to manually accept or reject
Sorry, CatLady ;w;
My 20 cents on the "Rumbling" category~~
From what I've gathered:
>> 6 Pokemon on the original 6 Rumble Areas at Rumbling level ~70, give us around 25 - 35 APs (total), during 12 hour missions.
>> 6 Pokemon in Galar missions at level ~15 give around 40 APs with multiple recruits. Those missions take around 1 - 2 days.
>> 6 Pokemon on 5 minute missions or 30 minute missions barely give us 1 or 2 AP.
Given the way that things are right now, there's no point in having "Rumbling" as it's own category that resets every hour, when you can't actually use it effectively every hour. We'd have to start missions that last from 12 hours to as long as 2 days (maybe more?) just to reach 40 AP. Thus it's impossible to gain even 5 - 10 AP when trying to fill it up each hour.
My suggestions to improve the Rumbling part:
>> Increase the sensitivity(?) of Rumbling. Ie) Implement a way to make Rumbling net us more AP per mission (starting from 5 minute missions), such that we can effectively gain some AP when Rumbling every hour.
>> Couple the Rumbling category with some other task that can actually be done every hour, like the Berry Garden/ Royal Tunnel [Category -> Digging/Mining/something related] for instance.
>> Finally, Rumbling could also just be counted under the "Others" category, while also increasing the limit for said "Others" category. [s]But this might make things less diverse, in my opinion, and might be the least popular.
Rumbling was essentially the main problem I had with the current system, aside from battling. I didn't necessarily wanna remove the rumble section entirely, as I think it can be modified and improved without changing too much.
I do like the increase on ap per mission, my way of improving that was to give ap in accordance to time, though I do like CatLadys earlier suggestion of ap per pd brought back.
As it stands though, I am a fan of the identity of the rumble section, so I don't entirely want to remove it, so I don't think I could entirely get behind the option of moving it to other.
That being said, I think the idea of combining it could have some merit, though it might need fine tweaking.
