Fen nodded, and headed towards the kitchen he'd seen earlier. He
found the fridge, and took out the hot dogs (it took him a while,
as they were at the very back, how convenient XD). "Can you grab
the buns?" Fen asked Noba. "They should be in the pantry... there,
maybe?" Fen was about to grab the hot dogs... when he was faced
with a small dillema. How were quadripedal pokemon supposed to hold
bags? On their paws? With their tails? Eventually, Fen grabbed the
edge of the bag with his maw, as it gave him the best grip. He
hoped that this was how most pokemon did things... Fen put the
thought aside and walked out to the pool.
Yami places a paw up to bar the tepig's way. "Hey bud. Were you
just in the Leaf Hospital?" She looked at the fiery pig struggling
to walk.
As soon as she's outside, Xena jumped into the pool, causing a big
splash. Keeping a careful eye on the kit, Yoru went to grab the
coals and lighter to set up the grill. She grabbed some tongs and
plastic utensils from a box next to the tables and waited for the
boys to come out with the food, as she didn't want to leave Xena
unsupervised
Fen stumbles out of the house, almost dropping the hot dog bag in
the pool (that would have been terrible). He places them next to
the grill. "Okay, got the food!" He smiled at Yoru, and also at
Xena, watching the fox frolick in the shallows of the pool. "Having
fun, Xena?" He asked.
"Well I woke up o some leafeon and I was in a hospital bed, so I'm
thinking that was a yes." he said. "Why are you asking me? I'm just
a normal pokemon." he said. A bead of sweat falls, then evaporates
since he was a fire type.
Yami turns to the espurr and tepig. "My sister was supposed to be
your guide. If you want you can grab some lunch and take it for
free, on me, and go on over to my sister's. My shifts pretty much
over, and we need to get you over there."
Xena nodded vigorously whilst doggy paddling in the pool.
Meanwhile, her sister thanked the boys for the help and tapped
Noba. "Floof, can you light the coals please? That would help a
lot. I'm horrible at lighters." She fidgeted with the lighter in
her paw.
Fen stared confused at Yoru, before remembering that Noba was a
fire type. "Nothing," He said to them before he was asked. He
wasn't sure if Noba had tried making fire before, and hoped the
fluffy growlithe would be able to pull it off. He turned back to
watch Xena carefully, already protective of the kit, but he kept an
eye on the Floof Boi to see if he would succeed at lighting the
grill.
“But why though?” he asked. He was getting a bit nervous as more
beads of sweat dropped from his forehead and then evaporated into
the air. Why was this pokémon trying to get him to go somewhere. He
would happily accept the free lunch but wondered what she wanted
from him.
The coals became surrounded by a decent flame, looking transparent
at the bottom and the moke reaching the metal parts of the grill.
Yoru grabbed the patties and hot dog wieners and placed them on the
grill first. She would get to the veggies later. "Thanks,
Noba."
Xena was splashing around in the shallow end of the pool, playing
with floaties and having an overall good freaking time.
"My sister Yoru is supposed to be your guide. You guys took longer
than expected to wake up, but she's supposed to take care of you.
By now she's probably making dinner at her house. You could eat the
leftovers later." Yami was clearly getting impatient. "I could give
you proof if you're skeptical."
“I’ll go. Was your sister a shiny zorua? I think I might’ve met her
when I woke up. She said she was my guide but we got separated
somehow.” Flare said. “Could you take me to her house?”
Noba laid back down, rumbling slightly in contentment. He went back
to grooming his fur like he was doing earlier. He was in his happy
place at the moment
Fen turns to face Noba and Yoru, but keeps his ears unfolded to
hear Xena behind him. "Good job!" His tail wags for Noba. Fen is
glad that Noba managed to figure out his fire. Fen does a quick
type advantage check in his head, and hoping he's correct, he
begins to speak: "I'm resistant to fire... so I can work the grill,
if you'd like," He offers.
"Nah, dude. I'm the shiny Zorua in the family. I was going there
anyway to help her with my sister who's staying there." Yami
grabbed a berry off the food selection and popped it into her
mouth. "If you want I can take you straight there."
Yoru gives Fen a look. "If you want, sure. You know what to do,
right? Meanwhile, I can set the table and grab the fruits and
stuff." She flicked a glance at the plastic utensils and napkins
next to the table.
Fen can't remember if he's ever cooked on a grill before, but it
couldn't be hard, right? "Yep," Fen half lies, not wanting to let
Yoru down. He opens the bag with a rock hard claw, and places a few
sausages on the grill with the tongs ( it was a little trucky with
his clumsy paws, but he didn't drop any XD). Sure enough, the
flames barely even singed Fen's fur. Must be a perk of being rock
type. He maneuvered the hot dogs so that they were fully cooked,
and placed them all onto a plate. Then, he got some more dogs out
and placed them on the grill, repeating the process.
"Well, if you don't want food..." Yami began to head toward the
door, her patience wearing thin. "Let's go then, to Yoru's house.
Then I can come back to see if anyone was left behind before I grab
my stuff."
