I would like to suggest a system for reducing the amount of berries in one's berry garden inventory.
If you're like me, then you have a LOT of extra berries just sitting around that won't sell or rarely get used.
I have thousands!

So I'd like to suggest a way to use those. Specifically, to create mulch. I know you can currently buy or find mulch in other ways, but what if you could create it, too?

I was thinking there could be a buy-on additional feature/machine in the Tool Shed to do this. Such as a composter. Essentially, you could put in a ton of extra berries and it would give you a couple of mulch. Whether that be already existing types or a type specific to this method. And I don't mean 10 berries =1 mulch. Since in the normal world it can take a LOT of food scraps to make a decent amount of compost, it could be like every 100-500 or so berries makes 1 mulch. Now whether that's some kind of chance system or a flat number or is based of the rare-ness of the berries, I think the admins should decide.

TL;DR:
I have thousands of extra berries in my Berry Garden. What if we had a composting machine in the Tool Shed to reduce those to a bit of mulch?

Full support! High-level berries don't sell at all in the berrymarket, since most people literally can't buy them even if they wanted to, so we really need something else to do with them. Turning them into mulch would be the perfect idea IMO, especially with it needing hundreds of berries so that mulch doesn't get devalued too much, and it'd be getting rid of a ton of berries at once.
Hello! Call me Dusty! :3 They/them pronouns please ^^

I would use this if it did get implemented! I have a lot of Cheri berries from when I unlocked the feature which isn't selling well-
I do private rps! Send me a PM if interested!

Title: re mulch idea

I do like the idea of the mulch for the berries too. All it would take is a composter added to the berry farm. I am sure it would not be that hard, and the higher level the berry the better the mulch. You could even have an ultimate mulch in there that helps a plant produce a large amount of berries or jump a level or two. It is a very interesting idea and worth pursuing in my book. You could also use the berries to brew up pokeblocks for the farm miltanks too to do special effect milk items just to add interest.

I do like ways to use up the multitude of excess berries!

Here's my contribution to help with the idea. A way to have every berry help with this, and not add stupid insane amounts of recipes to it.
Each berry has a value. Base it on the grow speed or level to grow it. I'll use grow speed as my example. All points and values are used only as examples and not a real number.
There are what, 4 speeds? 1, 5, 10, 20 as examples for base value.
But the level of the berry also contributes to the value of the berry. Let each level add the base value to the total value of the seed.

A cheri berry is fast. One of the easiest to grow. So a base value for it would be 1. A level 17 cheri berry would be worth 17.
A jaboca berry is very slow. It's a pain to grow lots of them. The example base value is 20. A level 17 jaboca berry would be worth 340.

While a lot of people have very high level berries, it takes time to grow them and build up those potential points.

I did some grow time & harvest amounts checking the difference between berry levels vs productivity a while back, and posted a suggestion about it, and using the numbers from that for this.
50 cheri seeds each of level 1 and max level produced 240 level 1 berries and 177 max level.
The low level berries would gain you a nice 240 points, in 4 minutes to harvest. The max ones would gain you 17,700 points in 27 minutes to harvest.
Yes, that seems like a lot, for an easy growing berry. Why, I could have millions of points just farming those! Sure. But the mulch could be 10 million for just 1 dry mulch. If it's too easy to get points, keep a high point value on the rewards.

A balancing option to include with this is cut the random point values I'm using as a suggestion down to 1/10th, and require each action of the composter to use 10 berries. So that 10 level 1 cheri berries would equal 1 mulch point. And 10 jaboca berries would be 20 points.

I am a mobile only player.

YES ZERENITY! Love this contribution! I like your ideas of for a points/speed&level based system. Exactly! So the easier ones to grow would be worth less than the harder ones, and the higher levels are worth more than the lower levels! Love!!!

I love this idea, but I also feel like they should add a trash can, (free at start or unlock at lvl 10 for like 2000 pd) I like many others have too many berries at high levels, and I have no way of selling them. It just takes up space and they have no use, so even being able to get rid of them would be nice.

The trash can is an interesting idea, but having a composter would mean you wouldnt need a trash can--because all berries would have a use! All those extra berries at high levels wouldnt just sit there anymore, they could be used for mulch! :)

Dear god this would be useful, I have thousands of Cheri and Pecha berries among others, being able to turn them into something not only useful, but possibly valuable on the berry market would be great.
I also think it could revitalise the berry market a bit.

Oh well look at that. I looked for a while and never saw anything like composting before. Mustve been hiding way back there.

Well I'm not opposed to combining the ideas. Both suggestions have a long post in them from another user that helped really think the idea out in a possible way it could be mechanically applied to pokeheroes.
