In this world, magic comes to those who are lucky enough to be born with it, or to people who have earned it. The rare few that are born with magic have more of it than anyone who has earned their magic, resulting in them being hunted. These people are called the Alkarhak. Now, you’re probably asking how people earn their magic. Well, it’s quite difficult to even know what to do to get some. After the Great War 2,000 years ago, people stopping allowing others to earn magic. That somehow resulted in the Alkarhak’s extinction as well. Until now, people forgot all about it. Just 20 years ago, another child was born with the incredible power that revived the Alkarhak. People started to use magic again. They learned that elders had to choose specific people to do near impossible tasks to earn Fukugi, the “tokens” used to get magic. These people who have been able to successfully complete the tasks are called the Ultimates. 1 token could give enhanced eyesight while 5 could give someone pyrokinesis. One more thing to mention is that every specific person is born with a certain skill set (except for Alkarhaks). Some are born to only be able to obtain the power of anything fire related, while others are born to obtain the power of knowledge.

Sprawled out in the sun, Ilmatar yawned in content, jaw unhinging as the secondary jaw came forward to yawn in tandem. Snuggling under the thick material of the pastel jacket, Imatar flicked a slightly forked tongue out to taste the air. Humming in content, Imatar shifted and curled atop the warm rock that served as the temporary bed for the reptilian Ultimate. Smacking chapped lips together, Ilmatar rolled over, unable to find a comfortable position to rest in. Perhaps it was because it had been quite the recent development, obtaining these serpentine powers and this fickle body that housed Ilmatar's soul was slow to adjust. Sunning on the rocks helped, however, taking the edge off the constant itch rubbing over the ragged scales interlocked into tanned skin.

Another day, another attack. Her house was ripped into shreds for the 3rd time this week, leaving her almost homeless. She was basically a criminal on the run. Her long, messy brown hair bounced as she ran, every light footstep left a small sprout in its place. These sprouts grew into large, thick vine-like plants that would snatch up anyone that came near it. She didn’t want to do that, but knew knew she had to in order to escape.

All she hears is birds chirping. Waking up in the forest where the sunlight barley hit her. She yawns as she stretches. She gets ready for the day, doing her same routine for 6 years. Until all she hears is silence. Nothing was making a sound.

She managed to loose them and began to slow down, completely out of breath and tired as ever. She really had to learn had to keep a low profile... A few minutes later she came across a simple forest, one that she hadn’t seen much of. She remembered going there a few times when she was younger, but no memories of it stuck with her. She stood at the tree line and looked up at the leaves.

'Whats going on?' She thinks to her self. She starts hiding her stuff and then uses her magic to shapeshift into a wolf. She walks around getting close to the new smell.

Not noticing the presence nearing her, she slowly walked into the forest. As soon as she did, she was overwhelmed by the fragrance of the plants around her, and a sense of belonging came over her. Was it because of her power? Probably, but it still felt nice nonetheless.

She sees a girl. 'Who is that? I never seen her before.' She thinks as she gets ready to pounce on the girl. The forest animals watch the girl as she walks.

Flay looked around the beautiful forest, still trying to take it all in. The whispers of the plants were much different from back home, and it was almost distracting. She slowly kept walking, not even acknowledging that there could be danger

There loud crashing from the forest behind made Ilmatar since, elongated mandibles gnashing in frustration. The sanctuary the had been created had been trampled underfoot by the disruptive force thundering through the landscape. Sensitive eyes fluttered shut as Ilmatar heaved a lethargic body up onto powerful limbs capable of stalking across the terrain with the lithe grace of an apex predator. A forked tongue flickered out, tasing the air as the stench of two humans slammed into delicate noses, forcing a growl to shake from a deep chest. Prowling through the forest biome, Ilmatar set out on a hunt to chase out the disturbances.

She felt the mood of the forest change around her. Someone, or someones were nearby. Her curious eyes darted around the forest as she slowed to a stop, wondering what could be causing the mood to dim. She could tell that there were normal creatures such as deer and rabbits, but this was different. It was something else, something she didn’t know of. What even was it? She tore a piece of bark off of a nearby tree and held it in her right hand. The bark grew to be a decently sized shield that’s she could use.

Crawling up the rugged scrapes of bark, the hunter curled around a sturdy branch, the flicker of pink all that was used to locate prey fresh for the taking. The chorus of birds fell silent around the forest, quieted by the stalking beast with an appetite for peace and quiet. Crawling over the arching leaves and branches of the canopy, Ilmatar hissed as sharp ears caught the tearing of bark, piercing through the stagnant air. Coiled muscles tightened as Ilmatar leapt past a particularly wide gap between the trees, landing with poised grace, the branch bending slightly under the sudden weight. There was a human woman underneath the tree, fear radiating off her form which Ilmatar lapped up greedily. Fear was good. Fear meant that pesky humans would run instead of fight. The acrid sting of smoke stung hyper sensitive eyes, forcing the hunter to reel back with a silent hiss, anger bubbling up to rest uncomfortably on the mind. Smoke meant heat and humans never brought fire with them unless it was to destroy and to hunt. Thin lips pulled back as a low hiss mingled with the whistling wind, harmonizing into a warning ballad or death. There would be no mercy for a human who came with the intention to purge Ilmatar from the woods, nor would the human farmer any forgiveness for disrupting the peaceful atmosphere that had blanketed Ilmatar in a cocoon of warmth. There was also a second human nearby, that much was evident by the stench on the winds

Getting into the pounce form. 'Well now or never.' She think as she pounces on the girl. 'Nice, now let's figure out who this is...' the animals of the forest begin to watch to see what happens. She growls as she is about to bite the girl.

She let out a startled yelp as the shield she made fell out of her hands and she fell to the ground. For a few seconds, she was still trying to figure out what pounced on her before the panic kicked in. She tried to struggle, knowing it wouldn’t even do much, but still tried. If she was stronger, it would probably work. She didn’t want to use her power yet, it could prove her more of a threat and get her killed.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Snaphet asks calmly as she could. She didn't want to kill the girl, but if she has bad intentions then she has to. But with the girl wiggling it was making here more agitated.

(Have to go)

“I-I’m Flay and I came here to escape the people who were chasing me...” she muttered, her voice was almost a whimper. She wasn’t dead yet. That was good. “Just let me go and I’ll leave!” She told Snaphet, struggling less and less.

(Alright, then last post from me)

Snaphet shakes her head and gets off the girl. She transform back to normal. "You're fine. I won't kill ya." She sighs and puts her hand behind hear head. "So Flay, why were people chasing you? If I must ask."

She got up and dusted off her green floral dress. She was a bit hesitant to state her reasoning, especially to someone who attacked her. Besides, there could be more people around listening in, and they could be hostile. “I... I uh... I guess they were trying to kill me or something...” she muttered, trying to give as little information as possible

Snaphet gives her a questionable look. "Ok, you look scare. Calm down. I'll take you to my house, so you can chill." Snaphet transforms into a fox. "Come on follow me or you can find your own way there."

Lips curling back, Ilmatar could sense the presence of the two humans gathering together and chapped lips were whetted. Two prey together, and by the sounds of it, going to the same area. That would make hunting much easier. Even in the form of a fox, the stench of human sins lingered and clouded the silken fur distinguishing the shape-shifting human from the natural wildlife. Coiling around a thick branch, Ilmatar his in the shade of the trees, the cool shade weighing down heavy eyelids and slowing down the lethargic pounding of a cold blooded heart. Pale eyes stayed hidden behind translucent lids, unseeing yet unnerving as they gleamed in the darkness.
