" I hope it's as good as last
year. " Darrius shrugged. " I might try out for Quidditch, Chaser
seems pretty cool... " he trailed on, "...it's sort of like soccer
and baseball combined! I think I might get the hang of it! "
Darrius grinned. " I think I might want to be Seeker, or Keeper if
I ever do try out. " Sebastiano chimed. " I mean, it all comes down
to the Seeker in the end. "
Pete nods his head listening to the two boys conversation. "I'll
like to try beater. It would be fun protecting others and making
sure the other team doesn't score." Pete says with a smile.
All Luke can think about in his next class was trying out for the
Quidditch team. He thinks that he would be a really good Seeker,
but he also might be a good keeper.
Barry is in the middle of his first class, taking down notes and
not socializing.
Noah is taking down notes too, and sometimes correcting the teacher
for mistakes once or twice. He doesn’t like it that he was from
Florida, even though he fit in with all of the snakes there. He
came here to have a new life, and that was that.
" What class do we have first?
They haven't said anything about the second years yet. " Darrius
remarked, watching as the common room got emptier and
emptier.
" Seb, Pete! That's us! "
Darrius called after his friends, trying to locate where the voice
came from. He only hoped it would be the Headmaster, who cloaked
their identity from everybody, even the students. The teachers
hadn't given any clues on his appearance. Sometimes he wondered if
the professors had never seen the Headmaster themselves.
-----
Three different friends stood separated in three different houses,
in three different common rooms. A girl sat admiring her manicure,
watching all the younger students file past in the Hufflepuff
common room. The room radiated warmth, even without a fire. Yellow.
Yellow everywhere. Plants adorned the window sills, casting a long
shadow through the sunlight.
In another common room, the dark colors and winding bookshelves
gave a rather medieval and regal appearance. The morning sun shone
through the stained glass hitting a tall girl's back, who was
slouching over a book, her face hidden in the shadow.
Not many people would describe the Slytherin common room as
comforting, an eerie green light was cast over the place, and the
tiles looked and felt cold to the touch. A red flame blazed in the
fireplace, standing out in all of the dark green and black, giving
it the look of an old casino. A boy, no, a girl sat in the arm
chair, poking fun at passer-bys. The girl got a few glares and a
couple of insults, but nothing escalated so
far.
Luke exits the common room, excited for his first class. He can't
wait. He is smiling all the way down to his first class, almost
running because he couldn't wait for the first day of school.
Again.
Barry is walking shyly out of the Ravenclaw dormitory. He doesn't
look at others and just stays to himself, not wanting to be
noticed. He decides to read as he walks to his first class, not
really caring about the other students.
Noah is still in his first class, learning about things, well not
learning, mostly being taught about things he already knew.
