Eclipse looked up the room was pretty full now and a man walked up with some other people the room was loud and people were talking amongst themselves the people seemed to be preparing to say something but eclipse wouldnt know until they said something eclipse heard the guy that had come in after her laugh and wondered what was so funny the people called for silence and started speaking

Leaning back, Julian pocketed his phone and glanced around the mostly full auditorium, seeing how everyone seemed to be paying attention up front. His research had provided some small insights but nothing substantial. Just some background information that he had completely skipped over. He didn't really understand scientific jargon, only knowing the dialect of the internet toughly enough. He hoped that the formal explanation wouldn't be so confusing.

The director had finished explaining the project, how it would work, how long it would take, etc. He took a moment for everyone to ask questions, in case people were still confused. The director knew that this experiment could be risky to some, since it was a new thing and these were the only test subjects. They considered the fact that it could cause temporary, or even permanent brain damage.

One male, probably in his late 20s, raised his hand, a concern look showed on his face. “I’m sure you know what you’re doing, but what is the plan if all else fails? From what I’ve been told, there is a chance that we could be negatively affected, and even die due to a failure in the experiment. It doesn’t seem like a small chance either.”

Eclipse stood up “well then why don’t you go?” She glared at him “if you don’t ever take risks you’ll miss out on everything that’s fun and helpful to others so leave or build a bridge and get over it.” Eclipse sat back down not caring if people were staring or judging her it wouldn’t matter in the experiment

Raising and eyebrow, Julian couldn't help but agree with the man. There were many unknown risks involved in this project and he'd like to return alive, thank you very much. Sure his life didn't have very much meaning to it but he still wanted to live it to the best he could. Dying here wouldn't be the best way to end his life. He didn't dare speak up however, his thoughts refusing to come together cohesively.

“I’m asking for the concern of others that don’t know as much about the risks. I personally wouldn’t care about it and just do it.” He narrowed his eyes as he glanced in her direction. He decided that pushing it wasn’t the best option.

Maiki looked at Eclipse and the man. People were arguing already? She didn’t quite like that. Hopefully none of it would affect her as the experiment went on

“Well then anyone who doesn’t like the risks can leave if you are a coward this is no place for you.” Eclipse was getting more angry by the minute these people were cowards that had no sense of pride or adventure they were soft and weak this was a chance to get away from any problems they may have and the pros outweigh the cons eclipse took some deep breaths hopefully they would start soon

The director sighed and silenced them. “Thank you sir for that question. We will try and make this experiment as safe as possible.” He informed, lowering his hands. “On that topic, would anyone like to leave?” He asked, looking at the crowd. Not many people seemed dazed at the argument, excitement still shone on their faces.

Maiki sighed. If this experiment failed, she wouldn’t have had a chance to say goodbye to her family, or even her friend. She didn’t even know if she was still alive. Was she willing to take the chance? What would her family think?

Julian stayed where he was, rolling his eyes at Eclipse's outbursts. She was foolish and naive. There was no shame in being cautious of new horizons. Yes, taking risks was needed and essential for moving forward but fear was a natural part of life and throwing ones self headlong into new experiences with caution in the wind was always a recipe for disaster.

They’d better start soon was all she could think unlike some here she went into this knowing the risks and she was willing to take any chance to be a part of this wonderful thing the experience would be amazing she was sure of it. It seemed that they would start soon and she had a good feeling about this whole thing

“Alright, now lets begin.” Only one person had left out of the 300. The director walked off the platform and went to the double doors near the corner. “Now, follow me.” She waved her hand high enough so everyone could see.

Maiki reluctantly followed, slowly heading towards the door. She glanced at Eclipse and Julian as she passed.

Seeing the wheelchair bound girl glance at him, he smiled and waved slightly before standing up to follow. He didn't say anything though, he just simply adverted his gaze he walked past Eclipse. They hadn't even properly meet and he already thought that she was a bit rude. He would hold off his actual thoughts for when they properly spoke though. He didn't want to assume anything off the bat.

Eclipse got up and followed the crowd glad that it was finally starting to get interesting they were led by a woman who she guessed was the director of this program she couldn’t put her finger on it but the guy in front of her seemed familiar oh well it’s probably nothing she thought

Once everyone was in a smaller room, the director got their attention. “You are about to enter the experimentation room. I recommend you get into a neat order and try to listen for your name.” She told them before leading them to a large hallway.

Maiki watched as everyone gathered in front of her. She tried to contain her nervousness and excitement as she waited. 300 people was much smaller than the thought it was. She was already pretty tired and still sore, but she could persevere through it.

Eclipse looked around everyone seemed excited she waited and listened until she heard her name “eclipse Akuma?” And she entered on of the many rooms in the hallway the room seemed pretty normal kinda like a gaming room combined with a lab she sat down and waited for further instructions

“Alright Eclipse. I’m gonna ask you to lay down on the bed and we will do some tests. Got that?” One of the scientists asked her, preparing the room and area.

“Maiki?” A lady called out to the crowd. She was wearing a blue dress with a dark pink tie and a cardigan. She held a clipboard in her hands that seemed to have everyone’s names. Maiki sighed and proceeded to weave through the crowd. Once she finally got to the front, the lady guided her to another room similar to Eclipse’s

Julian internally groaned at the instructions. Hearing his own name was was exhausting as almost everyone knew who the Solo family was. Whenever his own name was called, whispers would surely follow, of surprise and scandal. He was aware of the rumors surrounding his own name, that he had abandoned his family in favor of a more "Unworthy" path of Marine Biology instead of the expected routes of law, business, and the like that was expected of the heir of a wealthy company. Despite his misgivings over the situation, he lined up quietly. His hands itched to just text one of his online friends but refrained from doing so. That would be impolite.

Soon his name was called, thankfully without his last name, and Julian hurried in.

One of the scientists in the room looked at Maiki curiously. When they were choosing her for the project, nothing was said about her having any disabilities or injuries. They had reviewed all the files yesterday, so it had to be recent. She subtly shook her head and gestured for her to come over. “We are going to run some tests first, so I’m going to ask you to get on the bed.” She pointed in the direction of said bed.

Maiki nodded and moved closer to the bed, taking deep breaths to relax herself. She wasn’t used to this much excitement and nervousness all at once. The bed had already been lowered while the lady talked, so it was a bit easier to get her on.

The same speech was given to Julian. His room looked about the same as Eclipse’s and Maiki’s with a few adjustments.

Eclipse followed the orders she was given and waited for them to start she wondered what the experiment would be like and she noticed that the room was very quiet she let herself partially drift off into a trance waiting for them to be done

Nodding, Julian swung himself up onto the bed, settling down easily. Nerves were running rampant within him, and he wasn't sure what to really expect. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself but that ended up not doing very much as he only got more antsy. This boy should never be asked to sit still for too long without some kind of game to give him.
