As a lot of us have probably experienced one way or another by now, evolving Applin is a little .. iffy, to say the least. :'3

Even when all conditions for its evolution are met (Applin in Party, (Super) Honey slapped on the Honey Tree), you still only have a chance of encountering the evolution event. Thus, it may take days to eventually trigger the event, not to mention that you might have to scare off a bunch of other 'mons in the meantime, or even come back to some (if not all) of your (Super) Honey gone. Not everyone can check their Honey Tree 24/7, after all.

So, what I'd want to suggest is to adjust the evolution event. Definitely not change it completely - as I think the whole Honey Tree thing is a super cute idea (and also comes with gorgeous artwork!) - but modify it some so that it's not an RNG-based event but a fix one that'll allow you to instantly evolve your Applin whenever needed.

In case of multiple Applin in your Party and how to differentiate which one you'd want to evolve and which not, maybe make the Applin in question hold an additional jar of (Super) Honey to trigger the event or something along these lines? So that the Honey Tree wouldn't get confused as to whether or not you wanted to evolve your Applin and keeps giving you the event, even though all you want is to have an Applin in your party for personal reasons while hunting for some Pokémon on Route 53. :b

This of course is just a quick idea of how to adjust the evolution event - but it was all I could think of right off the bat that wouldn't require the whole thing to change entirely, while still keeping in mind that the Honey Tree would need a way of knowing whether or not to trigger the event for you. So, everyone feel free to give input if you have a different/better idea!

Yes, please. I'll take anything at this point. I've spent over an entire week trying to evolve my Applin, checking the tree every half hour (or even sooner), and I have had nothing. I am sick of this apple now. This would be an amazing fix to this, while still encouraging people to use the honey tree!

Absolute support. Tbh, we need /less/ RNG things on here, not more >_>
It’s fine for hatching random shinies, it isn’t fine for wanting to evolve a dang Pokémon.

this is a perfect idea! this is how it should have been from the start. in the games, you just use an apple on applin. FULL SUPPORT!

I agree! Even if they add a time cap (like if it was guaranteed after 24 hours or so) that would still be a lot better. :)

Absolute support here!
It takes so long to even obtain applin through the rng method, so adding even more rng just to evolve it made me want to cry out of frustration, I lost so many super honeys because of bad rng and Pokémon eating the honey quicker than I could check due to rl stuff!

Considering how the current RNG is so terrible ( I remember seeing someone say that it's been a week and their apple still hasn't evolved. Not sure if they were able to evolve it in the end ), this definitely has my support.

Especially since I've ultimately gave up on trying to evolve my Applins. Annoying, tedious, and de-motivating. Just waiting to see and try to snag a couple of 'em in the Auction House.

Big support!! It's a really cute idea and I'm happy it gets us using the honey tree, but I think we all need a little help, it's just too tedious at the moment. I'm still waiting for my Appletun dreams to come true!
(Also, thank you!! I'm glad the drawings are appreciated when we finally get to see them! <3)

That is actually a really cute idea! Especially making the Applin hold the honey, as for the tree it doesn't care if you smear the tree or if you give the honey to the Applin and the Applin smears is to the tree :3

1000% agreed! Idea's cute and all but it's so demotivating when you're trying to evolve a normal mon and it takes hours, days, or weeks to do it all because of RNG. ;; like someone mentioned, it's hard enough just sitting there hoping an applin shows up in the first place. But then you also need to wait for it to randomly trigger an event

Full support, it was such a pain to have to wait to get the event with Super Honey, and trying to use regular Honey just takes longer.

Support, maybe for evolving applin instead of honey, there could be an item for evolving applin into any of their evo (one item for each evo) and for evolving just go to the honey tree with an applin on your party holding the item

Full support. I gave up trying to evolve my applins after a week of no apples. Instead, I gave my applins to someone else to see if it would evolve with them; both applins evolved in 2 days. RNG is not a good idea with evolutions.

I do not like to leave things up to luck. And like you said, we can't check that tree 24/7 hours a day. We ain't robots XD
