The City of the Dead
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The City of the DeadAfter your talk with the disembodied voices, the deep blue-black around you dissolves until you're standing in a courtyard. It's nighttime - the street lamps cast faded yellow circles of light on the worn cobblestones below to push the darkness away, and a symphony of owls, crickets, and other unidentified creatures greets yours ears. Others stand with you in the courtyard, unharmed. As if they were still alive. No inhabitants of the town seem to be out, like there's something to be feared in the night. They are right, of course. Mood.
Despair was halfway between scared and ecstatic. I'm alive? Why? Why would someone like me be given another chance?
He felt his hands clench into fists, his painted nails digging into the palms of his hands. "What the hell..." There was an undertone of anger but it just mostly sounded weak and tired. "What The Hell." He repeated, it sounded stronger now, his light French accent dipping into every word
He slowly opened his eyes, and while his vision took a moment to adjust to the light, he slowly realized what was going on.
He remembered how fast his heart was beating when he opened his mouth to finally confess to his crush. And he remembered the sound of a sudden braking. Glass splintering. And in the next moment, pain. Followed by darkness.
And now, Felix found himself here, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, being told that he had died.
The blond boy blinked a few times to clear his vision, which worked, much to his surprise. He looked around, finding himself in a courtyard, along with some others. Did they die, too?, he wondered.
"Sorry!" Someone else calls back, coming from the opposite direction. The barking starts up again.
However, he quickly regained his composure and put a smile on his face. "Anyways, I'm Felix." He didn't exactly know how to start conversations or how to get familiar with someone, but he might at least say his name. He had no idea why he told his name to complete strangers, however, but he guessed he would be stuck with those people for a while, so it might be nice to know each others names.
Turns out that his candy followed him to an- Afterlife? Well, it that just wasn't sweet as a button. "Matt." He said, with his mouth still full so it sounded like Mraath more than anything.
