First off, I believe this should be posted in the "Help" section of the forum, for future reference. Second, to open mystery boxes, you must also get the key of the same color. For example, if you have a pink mystery box, you must also have the pink key to open it.

So, if you don't have the key, you can't do anything with the mystery box.
