Okay okay so, I'm really new with stuff like that so, can anyone explain me the terms "belting" and "harmonies"? As for the singing part. I heard and read them often on YouTube but I wasn't able to figure out what they mean by now. It's probably a really stupid question anyways ;v; [Google Germany won't give me answers btw, so I thought I might ask here]

"Belting (or vocal belting) is a specific technique of singing by which a singer brings their chest register above its natural passaggio (break) at a loud volume; instead, an alternative production is developed, often described and felt as supported and sustained yelling."

"Harmony Singing. ... When you sing in tune together with other singers, you are creating the sound of an instrument playing a harmonic interval or chord. In a group setting, each harmony singer usually sings a tone that is part of the chord being played by the other instruments in the group."

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to explain it myself xD

it's just fine x3
Thank you! :3 I was just being my curious me.

Also is anyone of the singers here familiar with growling and stuff like that or are you all clean vocalists? :v Because unclean vocals and growling fascinate me a lot currently. I mean, it's not like I could do any of these xD But I might want to try, even though. A female voice is probably not that good for growling xD

I'd try it

But at the same time, I don't want to butcher my throat

Or anyone's ears xD

I really don't think I could growl; I mean I tried it once awhile ago but I just couldn't xD

I'm sure someone else on here is good at it though

@Red
Accepted! Welcome!

@all
So I have my bit for my school talent show pretty much ready, but I'm not sure if my transition from chord to chord on my ukulele is smooth enough. Any guitar/ukulele players have any tips?

Sadly I don't play ukulele or guitar. I'd love to give tips but then again I really can't.. But good luck with it!

Talking about school and music, I have to learn a song (singing wise) for music lessons at school and I'm not a great singer in my opinion, but I have a variable voice (can go high and low) - just a side info so you don't worry about the song being too high or too low for me.
So my question is, do you have any song suggestions? The song has to have 3 strophes though, but I guess most songs do so. English text is preferred (because I can actually sing English xD), German is possible (not preferred though) and any other language will give me a hard time. xD Please no rap ;v;

Well, I like rock and metal a lot. There are some good songs out there of these genres that don't have screaming or something like that in them, but I either already sang them or I don't want to sing them because they are too popular xD
