Marrow huffs. "Shush" before flipping the page. A picture almost falls out, but she catches it with her tail and holds it up for him to see. A girl with black curls and bright gold eyes is holding hands with a blond guy, apparently tugging on his hand, as if trying to get him to come. The guy is laughing. "Companionship like life-force. You know Protector. Fading like dying."
