she gripped the back of his shirt and tightened her hug, tear's beginning to run down her face and onto his shirt.
''no....! please, don't leave me.....!! don't disappear like my parents did and abandon me...!'' she sobbed quietly and almost pleadingly, burying her face into his chest to try and muffle her sobbing.

He inhaled sharply when she grabbed him--Crystal kept throwing him off guard--and lightly placed his fingertips in between her shoulder blades. "O-okay," he croaked, his words muffled by her hair. Jack hadn't realized that Crystal had become so attached; he supposed that it was easy, with both of them being so alone but hoping so bad for trust. "We stay together, then. It's a deal."

her sobbing slowly started to cease and sniffled, hiccuping occasionally.
''y-your the only person i trust now.... i-i.......'' she mumbled, trailing off as grew silent aside from the sniffling and hiccuping, just simply curling up a bit in the seat beside him as she let him go and rested her hands on his chest under her head.
i feel safe when i'm with you, Jack, i don't feel so scared and alone anymore......... Crystal thought to herself, blushing faintly without seeming to realize it.

"Okay," he said gently, his lopsided smile returning to reassure her, "I'll make sure to live up to it." He was still trying to grasp the fact that they had known each other for barely two days--they clicked, he supposed--and while he wasn't familiar with her, he was comfortable and trusting. People were still listening and he could tell by the way their ears rotated slightly towards them, but they seemed to be more sympathetic than judgemental or skeptical. They were in a war-trodden city bound by loss and misery, and in that moment Jack became forgiving of the citizens around him for what they had or hadn't done.

Crystal seemed to slowly relax and started dozing off a couple times, but fought against her sudden drowsiness and grumbled quietly.
''darn it... i keep dozing off......'' she mumbled, the warmth from the hug and listening to his heartbeat soothing her.

"Go ahead. We've got an eternity before we get there." He said, pivoting slightly so that he could look at the window without disturbing her. Jack was surprised that she was still clinging to him but figured it was because he never had such a close friend, which he certainly wasn't bothered by.

she gave a slight nod and yawned, soon enough falling back asleep and fully relaxing, her ear's going limp and drooping.

"Jinx, for the last time, this is a terrible idea. Do you realize how dangerous it is to have such a young, defenseless girl around here? Much less a kid?" Rowan hissed, rubbing his temples. Jinx walked out from the kitchen, putting a cup of chamomile tea in front of him. It was his favorite and he knew that she made it just to calm him. She sat down, her hands wrapped around her own mug, and spoke calmly.
"I think it's a tad bit unfair to assume that Willow is defenseless. If it really worries you, she's a canine and they tend to have sturdier builds, but I doubt she'll ever be attacked in a place meant for healing. Your associations are the reason we're safe--the reason I'm safe, and the reason Willow will never be targeted. There's no need for us to be protected, but if it comes to that, I can hold my ground in a fight." She stirred her drink, knowing that he was too arrogant to admit that he was reassured.
"But you won't. You don't have the heart to hurt anyone," he rebutted, slumping back into his chair and crossing his arms.
"I don't see how that's relevant, but it's because I never need to." She crossed her legs and smiled at him, knowing that she had won the argument.

(Time-skip to morning~~)
Jack stood up from the seat, his legs aching from hours of sitting. "C'mon," he mumbled, slipping his way to the doors of the Skyway with more focus on his balance, "I think we just have to transfer to the... Northward one?" He looked at Crystal and waited for her before speaking again

Silver puffed her cheeks and took a breath before ringing the doorbell to Mango's home, cradling a container in her arms. She tilted back and forth on her feet, rubbing the back of her neck with her free hand and looked around the area as she waited.

"Rowan," Jinx called out lightly, an amused smile on her face as she sorted the jars on a cabinet. "I can hear you leaving. Aren't you going to stay around and get to know Willow better?" There was a huff and she turned around to look at him. His hands were in his pockets and his dark hair was a frizzy mess.
"I have stuff to handle," he said boldly, to which Jinx chuckled.
"No, you don't. Sit down--relax." She continued to sort, humming softly.

Crystal collected up her stuff and put her hat back on, quickly checking to see if anything was missing.
''coming'' she said, soon catching up to him so she wouldn't be left behind.

''hang on a second!'' came Mango's voice, which was soon followed by footsteps before the door unlocked and opened, revealing a somewhat surprised Mango as he looked down at her.
he was wearing a more modern outfit consisting of a pair of dark denim looking shorts and a light blue t-shirt, along with a purple apron with a cupcake pattern on it.
''hey, i didn't expect you to come over, also i don't think you told me your name yesterday.... i only remember telling you mine... erm.... come on in'' he said, stepping aside as he opened the door wider.

Willow was on her way to the apothecary after she had dropped Yuzuki off for his playdate and hummed, wearing a more casual outfit that was east to work in and made sure her little wooden bat was still hooked to her belt.

The doors open and Jack fought against the tide of people pooling into the Skyway to get out. The number of bodies he brushed against made him flinch and it felt as if he was suffocating being in such a crowd, but the only thing keeping him from immediately running far away was the fear that he would lose Crystal. He clung close to her and when they were away from the crowd he leaned to her ear and whispered, "It's a sketchy station. I think it's best that we get out of here as soon as we can." He craned his head up to look at the signs, a bit frantic.

"Hi," she said, perking up when he opened the door. She had distracted herself while she was looking around and she quickly brushed her hair behind her ear, smiling softly. "Ah, shoot. I believe you're right." Her tail swished in amusement. "It's Silver. Silver Kaya. I, uh... I also brought food." Silver entered and slipped her shoes off where the rest of the shoes were, glancing around curiously. Her eyes were wistful and she seemed to be regretting something, but she quickly changed her expression so that she wouldn't worry him.

Crystal nodded and looked around, thinking for a moment before grabbing a hold of Jack's hand and led him away from the huge crown outside of the station, soon stopping in a more quieter spot where neither of them would be trampled.
''Jack, calm down... okay...? we're away from the crowd now'' she said, trying to calm him down the best she could.

Mango smiled and gave a soft purr, swaying his tail while closing the door once she entered.
''alright, and that's such a pretty name~ here, i'll take that and go put it in the fridge while you can go get comfy in the living room, you can watch tv if you want, also watch where you go to sit cause Plum's scampered off somewhere in the house'' he said, holding his hand out for the container.

Jack shuddered and looked into her eyes, taking slow breaths until his hands stopped trembling. He'd never felt such rush or imminent death in a crowd--probably because he stayed away from them--and was glad that Crystal was there to reassure him. We're both... incredibly unstable, he thought to himself wondering whether or not it was a good thing. "Okay," he mumbled, wiping his face and smiling softly at her. "I'm good. It should be that one." Jack pointed at the sign with a large five on it, with an arrow that pointed up the stairs.

"O-oh, alright," Silver said, her tail flicking as she handed him the container. She watched as he left the room and made sure to look before she sat on the couch, taking in the details of the room. It was cozy and she quite liked the decoration, which only made her appreciate Mango's style. She sighed and stretched her hands forward, resting them tensely on her knees. The more she found herself liking Mango the harder it was for her to be there, but she had made a decision and she was going to follow through with it.

Crystal looked in the direction he pointed and nodded, then looked back over at him and gave a gentle smile to reassure him as she gripped his hand.
''just keep a hold of my hand and don't let go okay....? we won't get separated that way'' she said, then walked in the direction of the stairs.

Mango took a peek in the container Silver brought out of curiosity and blushed faintly, finding it rather sweet that she brought food.
''s-she didn't h-have to bring anything, b-but she did...... and she came over the day after i offered her the hair styling...'' he mumbled, closing the container back up before storing it away in the fridge as he smiled a little.

there was a slight sound of something that hopped along the back of the couch that was followed by a light thump against Silver's shoulder as something perched contently on her shoulder, which was then followed by a soft chirping sound.

He mumbled was a soft agreement, although it meant a lot more to him than he showed. He meekly let her weave them through the crowd, all the while scanning the faces of the people. Jack's eyes locked with the scarred face of a female wolf, and he quickly dipped his head to break it.

Silver flinched and raised her hand to prepare for an attack of some sort, but stopped the motion when she realized it wasn't harmful. She only laughed softly and scooped the creature up in her hands. "Hi, there. You must be Plum." She smiled.

i can tell his pace is slow.... he'll trip on the stairs if he doesn't pay attention and keep up... she thought, a little worried.

Plum replied in a series of chirps that sounded like cooing, the leaf on his head flicked like a felines tail.
he nuzzled the palm of her right hand and let out an affectionate purr like chirp, taking a like to Silver without much hesitation at all.

"Y-yeah, you're right," Jack mumbled, a bit anxious now that she brought it up. He didn't know the area at all, now that he thought about it, and he was now worried that they would lead themselves to danger or death. He stumbled a bit when he sneaker got caught on the stairs and curled his tail tightly around his leg, now paying close attention to where he was walking instead of Crystal.

He's so cute, she thought to herself, stroking him delicately. Her ear twitched at the sound of his cooing but quickly realized that they were affectionate.

Crystal soon slowed to a stop once they made it to the top of the stairs and handed Jack the bag she was holding before she tugged on the sleeve of a somewhat tall woman, who had long slightly messy (yet stylish) hair wearing what seemed to be priestess clothing and had the canine characteristics of a belgian sheepdog.
''e-excuse me, miss....? i-i'm moving into my grandparents house and my friend is helping me... but they live across town from here and it's getting late, w-we were wondering if you could point us in the direction of an inn for us?'' she asked a bit timidly, stuttering occasionally.
the woman looked down at them with bright chestnut brown eyes and gave a kind smile as she knelt down to match they're height.
''of course sweetie, just go straight from here and go left on meadow street, it'll be the sixth building on the right~ you'll see the sign once your close enough to the building'' the woman said in a rather soothing tone.
Crystal nodded and smiled a little.
''thank you miss'' she said, then led the way to where the inn was.
the priestess stood and waved as they left before descending the stairs.

Plum chirped contently as she petted him and nestled down in her hand quite comfortably.
the sound of an egg timer rings from the kitchen and a few seconds afterwards the sweet aroma of a blueberry pie wafts into the living room.
