That would be roughly 1000 Gems in total.

I just got 500 Bug for a Mega Stone. The actual price looks to be around 1,000 Bug Gems (550k / 550 PD per Gem (prices from the price check)) but I'm pretty sure no one would go for that.
Both of my Bug and Poison Gem goals have been completed! I'm sooo happy~
When I start my Shiny Mega Ampharos hunt, expect from Shiny/Mega-able give aways.

I've had one early(ish) hunt (Gengar at 854, gemmed 700 eggs lol), and one semi-long hunt(Lucario at 2,479, gemmed 2,000 eggs lol).
So I'm thinking 25k gems/500 eggs, because it's a decent amount for the start if it wants to hatch early; but also enough to keep me busy for a while.
But like I said, I'm not too sure about it. :P

And I have over 1000 grass gems? Do I might keep hording those for Treeko or something? Because I know those take a lot
Or perhaps horde the grass gems and them even more poison gems for Bulbasuar... I don't know yet as I want every single shiny mega on site and a complete and full Shiny living dex done by myself...

Most definitely! That way you won't have to restart a chain ever time you hatch a Shiny, + premium boosts egg and shiny rates, so it's quite useful. So yes I do recommend it.
