My name is Noir. I'm from Florida, and I’m an Aries – which means I have a hot temper and a fondness for sticking my foot halfway down my throat. I consider myself a writer and my favorite things to write are urban fantasy/horror stories. When I’m not writing, I can usually be found gaming; I like most RPGs and I’m absolute rubbish at shooters.

I also breed ball pythons. That’s one of my snakes to the right – her name is Tiger Lily; she’s a piebald ball python. I have a lot of snakes and I like them more than I like most people.

I dislike talking about myself immensely, so please don’t Palpad me and ask me to do so. I do enjoy talking to people – just not about me. Please respect that.

a. If I am buying it, I will either specify my price, or base my price off Price Check.
b. I don’t send payment first unless I know you. If you’re not comfortable with that, we can use the Trusted Trading Thread.

3. Unless I specifically state it, or it’s in my UFS boxes, my Pokemon or items are not for sale.

a. My shinies (in the Shiny box) are never going to be for sale. They were either gifts, or hunts of my own, and they are special to me.

4. Yes, I can make graphics. No, if you ask me on Palpad, I will not make graphics for you. I’ve got a shop – ask me there.

a. And for god’s sake, be patient. I have a full-time job.

5. You can add me to your friends list, but I don’t guarantee I’ll add you back. Nothing personal.

6. I don’t battle. Ever.

7. Do not ask me to post feeds promoting your Pokemon, your Raffle, your contest, your challenge, or your items for sale. If I want to post them, I will do it without you asking me. Asking me puts me in the position of having to tell you no and I don’t appreciate it.

8. If I say no – I mean no. “Plz” is not going to change my mind.

My closest friends are Gleyre and Tarawr, both of whom were my friends before I ever came to PokeHeroes and will be my friends long, long after. We have a mutual shiny trade program: anything I hunt (minus events/legends), they automatically have slots in for all evolutionary stages/forms. I also gift shinies of anything I hunt to Spirris, as she was my first friend on PokeHeroes. <3

Why does 1st OS matter?

The official answer is: It doesn't.

There is nothing different between a 1st OS and the 7897897658976th OS. However...

PokeHeroes has no official "End game" content. There is nothing specific that everyone goes and does once they hit a certain level or a certain amount of Pokemon. It's an ever-expanding game that we as a playerbase play our own way.

What that means is that what matters to one person may not matter to all.

Me? I collect shiny dark and ghost types. My end goal is to have them all, including megas and legendaries. This matters to me. I care about this.

You? Your goal might be to have every shiny. Or five hundred shiny Meowths. That person over there might have the goal of having as many shinies as possible. Maybe you want to have the longest Royal Tunnel chain ever. Or the most money in the entire game. The highest level. All the badges. Some might have the goal of RULING THE RANK LIST FOREVER (I'm so sorry your Magikarp hunt is so awful, you know who you are).

But others chase 1st OS. This is their goal. This is what they play for. They get a rush out of trying like heck to be the first person to get that shiny. They get a thrill out of succeeding and they get bummed when they fail. To them, the race is where their end game is.

And that's ok. If that doesn't matter to you, that's ok. It matters to them and they're having fun, just like you're doing something that you find fun. In this game, we make our own goals, and it's important to have them to keep going.

So when you ask "Why do 1st OS matter?" the answer is - they matter because that's someone's goal they're accomplishing. Just like I might not see why anyone in their right mind would ever want to shiny hunt Keldeo or the Eon duo. There are people who do it and they enjoy it.

That's what really counts: that they're having fun. Just like you are.
