Interaction exchange anyone?
I have two more eggs to hatch but I'm on a hunt. These bad boys
take a while...but they are mostly there!!!
#MyBestExperience has to be moving in with my
boyfriend and finally having a good job with an employer who cares
about me.
Oh, look at that, been 6 years since I joined this site. Wow...lot
has changed. Meet some awesome people, traveled, read a LOT of
different books, fallen in and out of love, and finally out of
retail work. No idea what the future holds but I hope it will be
good.
...I really want to reread a series...but I have a mountain of
books to read first...but it is a really, really good series...
Name suggestions? So far all i have is d'Artagnan.
Something that sounds knightly, please!
It took 13,925 eggs, two basically a month shy of three years, but
he finally hatched! Not a female, but her white Knight, hopefully?
I'm just so happy to finally get one! Mind feeding
him?
I love my books. I have invested in some beautiful book marks and
have four book cases overflowing with physical books. One is just
for books I have to read still. Yet I still buy kindle books.
Sometimes it's cheaper and it is definitely easier to pull out my
phone to read over a book. That being said, i still love my books.
But here are some of the silly things I find myself doing: using
randome flat things that are definitely not bookmarks as bookmarks
such as tags, clean tissues, receipts, and envelops; taking books
to places even though i know i will not get a chance to read, but
wanting the book just in case or even bringing two in case i finish
the first; pressing my finger to the page over a word in an attempt
to get the definition even though it is paperback and not digital;
stacking a foot or more worth of books next to my bed as if i will
finish them all in a week, turning off my light as if i can
possibly read paper backs in the dark like i can with my kindle.
Send help.
I just finished book 70 for the year. (My goal is 75. Will I make
it?) And it was STUNNING! I was sold when it was described as
Beauty and the Beast meets Phatom of the Opera. How could I say no?
How had I not found such a book before? Why had the idea to combine
such stories never occur to me? The angst! The heartbreak! The
whole hopeless romance! And I enjoyed it immensely! But...I have
one very big plot hole I can't get over. Plot dictates and the
female leads own powers can explain it away but I am not gonna sit
here and let that be. So here is my rant. This chick, Kate, is a
clarinet player who manages to snag a pretty hefty scholarship to a
really good, private, music oriantated high school. The book claims
there are only like fifty or so scholarships given. Now, her
scholarship does not pay all her schooling but it is implied it
pays for almost all of it. A pretty hefty, near full ride
scholarship. And she plays clarinet. Cool! (Continue in comments)
*sighs happily* Jennifer L. Armentrout's character, Tink, a brownie
(the magical fae kind, not the delicious chocolate treat kind) who
can shapeshift between a foot tall pixie looking figure with wings
and a six foot tall handsome but annoying cutie is just what I
needed. I have waited three years for the conclusion of this series
and have been trying not to binge read...but this character is
gonna make it hard. I've read teasers for the series and he is
suppose to get a make significant other and I am so excited! Not to
mention reading about him 'borrowing' the male lead's clothing
while carrying around his new pet kitten in a baby sling is just
the kind of teeth rotting sweetness I need after my work week.
It is Book Lover's day today. My good friend sent me
this and I am
absolutely in love with this ideas! Can this be real? I need to
write a book off of this or at least rp it.
I love it when an author dedicates a book to book lovers. I feel
you, awesome writer, I feel you.
...so I now own four beautiful, fabulous, absolutely to die for,
bookshelves. I am making my bedroom a library of sorts. My own
personal library. The only problem is that I now have too much
bookspace and not enough books...I need to find more cheap books I
can stock my shelves with!
Nothing feels as awesome as giving a book to a child who
appriciates them. A good friend and I went to our favorite local
used book store and I found the four kids I babysat some books as a
going away present. They all looked very happy but my favorite
reaction was from the middle girl. Upon presenting her the two
picture books I had picked out for her, she clutched them to her
chest and proceeded to scream, "Best day EVER!" at the top of her
lungs.
*nearly has a heart attack*
I walked into my room and noticed this almost two foot long fuzzy
thing in my bed! It moved and I nearly keeled over in terror.
Upon further inspection I realized it was my dog. In my defence, he
NEVER sleeps in my room. And it's at night. Dark and all that
stuff. I have dark purple sheets and they are as good as pitch
black in color at night. He has black fur.
This book is going to beak my heart...it's like, reading the end of
Romeo and Juliet and then going to read the beginning. It's a
prequel to a series that captivated me. The saddest part is I know
the endgame...I know the bare bones of this story and watching them
fall in love is going to break my heart over and over again.
Because this Romeo is forced to keep going. His cousin, a Romeo
character in his own right in the trilogy, forces him to stay
alive. But even he can't protect the main character of the
prequel...and the ending to the trilogy is, imo, one of the
cruelest endings to a book. Ever. The hopeless romantic I am, I was
sobbing over it. In tears. Had to weigh the book down and
constantly wipe away tears as I read it. Star crossed lovers to put
the great Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to shame. T.T
I am ecstatic! I found custom made funko pop figures of two of my
favorite book characters and they finally! arrived in the mail!
They look even more incredible in person!
I adore finishing a book that draws me in completely, makes me
hear, see and be apart of the action instead of imagining it, and
finding out the author has written more of this world. And I can
have more by simply subscribing to their email list. Thank you,
authors, I will take your free kindle books and hear about your
promotions, giveaways and other free books. Don't mind if I do!
Reality sucks. There is too much drama, people stirring stuff up,
and just general unhappiness. This is why I like to escape. My
vice? Books. Fictional universes are so much better. Or
role-playing universes. I can be and do whatever I please. Sure,
there is still bad things and evil, misfortune and the woes of
life, but at least I can be a mercreature, fly with dragons, and
save the day. Or not. Not saving the day can be fun too. But the
best part is I get to choose. So if I wanna kick climb into a
wardrobe and walk with a lion god, I can do that. If I want to be
the boy who lived trying to make it through my teenage years
relatively unscathed, I can do that too. And if I wanna be
something completely new and as of yet undiscovered, I will. So
pick books, not drama.
