Sad video game moments
Forum-Index → General Discussion → Sad video game momentsIn Paper Jam I was crying on the inside when they replayed the Bowser jr.'s friendship.
And all those who are making suggestions that will make PH safer, I agree with you and thank you.
I'd say one of 'em is the ending of The Last of Us-

When Marlene is shot by Joel, who
decides to keep Ellie safe instead of sacrificing her for the good
of humanity. And then the scene where Joel lies to Ellie about what
happened at the Fireflies' hideout.
Another one of them would be the start of the second week in The World Ends With You

When you realize that Shiki is the
only one that made it out, but was taken as Neku's entry fee.
+Neku's subsequent mental breakdown.
Another one from TWEWY:

When you find out Beat and Rhyme's
backstory and about how they died. And then the part where Beat
finds out that Rhyme's entry fee wasn't her memories of Beat- that
was Beat's entry fee. I honestly believe Rhyme's fee was her
dreams, seeing as how any sentence with her in it also has "dreams"
or "hopes" in it.
"Don't let someone else make you feel guilty or ashamed about something you don't have control over, whether it is your skin color, your sexual preference or otherwise."
- Alex Bolton (I Hate Everything)
I cried so much and sometimes I still cry about it today.
The music that plays, and the scene, right after that big victory. </333
Also since this probably isn't a more widely known game/ending, I'll put this one in spoilers.
SO SPOILERS FOR Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

I found it devastatingly sad when the
price/king person realizes that for years he was living in a
hallucination. It was so sad when his wife left him for the sake of
their baby that he didn't know about and went away. The poor
man.
HOW COME ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS HAS TO SACRIFICE HIS/HER LIFE IN THE END!!!!!!!!???????

Through the woods a girl came sadly.
Something broken in her chest.
She had dared to love another.
Alas, no better than the rest.
Up my path the girl came gladly.
Something opened up my doors.
I longed to stop her bleeding heart.
And so I called her to my shores.
Those you trust will hurt you badly.
Something now I'm sure you see.
So drown your tears in me my dear.
As you drown, my dear, in me.
Question for me?
Why it's sad in the spoiler below:

Your character DIES! You get bitten
after the little girl you've been taking care of the whole game
gets kidnapped, and your only option after you find her and finally
start to turn is to make her leave you, handcuffed to a heater, to
die, or to shoot you. Many tears were shed.

Ok so this character who your
character has a huge crush and a great friendship with is killed.
She says good bye with a smile. After you find out she's a traitor
and that she killed the guy on pure accident, you get to watch her
get smashed with a giant Tetris block. Bc she's the Ultimate Gamer.
That literally makes me die inside.

Ohohoh, but this one may be worse.
This is a bit earlier in the game, when one girl is found to have
murdered another. This chick, Peko, is the bodyguard of the young
yakuza, Fuyuhiko. So, this chick kills this girl bc she knew her
master was going to and she couldn't let him get in trouble. But,
no joke, before her execution, Fuyuhiko cries out "Why don't you
get it? You never needed to become a tool. You just needed to be
yourself. I... I never wanted a tool. I just wanted you! Only you!
Why? Why can't you understand? We've always been together, since we
were kids! P-Please Peko! Don't go...!" He starts to cry, "I need
you! Don't leave me!" Peko looked at him, a single tear dripping
down her face... "Young master...?" She then breaks down sobbing...
"Young master!" She cries, before she's dragged away to her
execution.
AND I DIED CRYING
