Because the drama was gone, Glasya slipped through the door
silently. 'I need to get back to Rhea', she thought. Once outside
the door, she was greeted by a furry face. " Did you miss me? I was
only gone for a couple minutes." Glasya took flight along with her
faithful Kitsune for her daily ponder by the cliff.
Melez sighs, and falls to one knee holding her bleeding shoulder.
She stands up and unsteadily walks to the tavern. She rents a room
and once inside her room she begins tending to her wounded
shoulder.
She heats a blade over a candle and cauterizes her shoulder. She
sits on her bed groaning as the heated blade sizzles as it works.
She drops the blade on the floor, she reaches down and picks it up
with shaky hands. "That's enough excitement for one day..." She
says out loud to herself.
Isis (named her after the egyptian god) sat on the roof of a
building. Her wings were always out, Isis wanted to he ready in
case she had to fly. Literally. Her feet dangled off of the roof
and her hair blew in the gentle breeze.
Melez, having treated her now aching shoulder, walks to the window
and takes a deep breath of the cool night air. She opens her eyes
and sees a figure sitting on a rooftop across the road. She shrugs
and goes to lay in her bed.
Blake stopped jumping from the towns rooftops as he noticed the
sky. ''hmp, night already?'' he mumbled, and started looking down,
searching a place to stay in. ''I guess it can't be helped'' he
said, and entered a nearby house. He hid in the shadows, waiting
for the home owner to come nearby. ''looks like a nice place'' he
thought, as he looked the house from the shadows. He noticed
someone was coming, and came closer to him. Blake popped out of the
shadows, right in front of the home owner, which was frozen in
fear. ''GET OUT!!'' he yelled in a demonic tone, freaking the home
owner out of the place. ''I wonder if he'll ever come back'' he
thought, and searched for food.
Glasya stared up at the stars, as a gentle tear rolled down her
cheek. Rhea snuggled up next to her. "It's Ok Rhea,
I'll find that boy, and i'll catch his voice and hold it close".
Melez wakes up and lays in bed to stiff to get up. She groans as
she sits and then stands. She rubs at the scar and feels how close
it came to her wings. She sighs and heads downstairs for breakfast.
She sits at the same table and orders her breakfast as two officers
walk in and talk to the bartender. The officers, in turn, look
around the room, their eyes resting on her for a short period
before they turn back to the bartender. Eventually the officers
leave and the bartender shoots her a glance, and she nods, he
smiles and returns the nod.
After Melez finishes her breakfast the bartender walks over. "May I
sit?" Melez nods, as he sits down. He looks at her, "Did you do
that last night?" She nods again, he looks at her with wide eyes.
"I would give you room and board in return for your protection. I
get bad people in here from time to time and the place has its
share of scars... I would like to not add any new ones... So, what
do you say? Free room and board for protection?" She ponders this
for a while, she looks up at him and smiles. "I would gladly
accept." He stands up, a giant grin on his face. "Well then, I
believe we have a deal! The name's Henry by the way." He offers his
hand to shake. She stands and takes his hand, "Melez." He walks
away almost skipping like a schoolboy.
She sits back down and sips on her mug of water. "He seems nice...
I have a job now... I could do nicely here..." She thinks to
herself.
Zack flies above the city, hidden in the clouds. "A new day, and a
new city again" he says to himself looking down towards the city.
"This will be my home for some days now.....I wonder what adventure
awaits me here". He lands on the rooftop of a building and takes a
look around him. "Wish I had took a map from the previous
town......its hard to find a place to stay in a big city like this
one", he thinks to himself while walking down the road.
~I have loved the stars too fondly to be
fearful of the night~
Melez looks around the tavern, and seeing no one she heads to the
door. She turns and sees the bartender nod at her. She smiles and
heads out for a walk. The golden rays of sun stream down through
the clouds, warming her face and arms. She winces as she gently
stretches her shoulder as she walks. She looks about at the
buildings surrounding her and thinks to herself, "I could get used
to living here..." She sees a silhouette sitting on a nearby
rooftop. She stops and stares for a moment wondering, "What is with
people on roofs?" She shakes her head and continues her walk.
Blake wakes up from a bed he found last night, and went to the
kitchen. He roamed in the fridge, searching something for
breakfast. ''man, this guy had nothing here'' he thought, closed
the fridge and grabbed an apple from the table. ''i guess i'll have
to go to a restaurant or a tabern'' he thought, grabbed a nearby
black jacket and left the house, roaming through the town.
He found a nearby tabern nearby, looked like an old, damaged place.
''meh, if it has food it's fine for me'' he thought, and entered.
''hello?'' he asked, walking through the almost empty place. Only a
few people were taking breakfast there, maybe because they slept in
there. Blake didn't notice the bartender looking at him with a
fierce look. ''oh sorry, do you have something to eat?'' he asked
at him.
Glasya had woken upright on the cliff where she had fallen asleep.
She sat for a moment to admire the beautiful sky, nestled in her
Kitsune's fluffy tails.
(Periodically I will control npcs such as the bartender throughout
the story.)
The bartender nods his head and motions to a table near Blake. He
sends a waitress over to the table, waiting to take his order.
Melez finishes her walk and heads back to the tavern. She enters
and the bartender's expression changes from ferocity to one of
contentment, now that his protection was back. She walks over to
her normal table and sits, taking in the room.
Blake ordered some scrambled eggs and bread, hoping it was not
stale nor mossy. He felt a dark aura nearby, which made him shiver.
Blake looked around, he saw a girl in a table, which was the one
producing the dark aura. ''a fallen angel or a demon maybe?'' he
thought, looking at her carefully, hoping she wouldn't notice him.
''better prevent any battle'' he thought again, and rested his head
on the table
Melez walks up to the bar and gets a drink, she uses the time it
takes for the waitress to bring her beverage to turn and survey
every person more closely. She could tell by the way one person was
laying on the table when a few moments ago was wide awake and
alert. She thanks the server for the drink and slowly walks back to
her table staring at the person in question. She didn't care if he
noticed her staring. She thought to herself, "If he does notice me
staring, then he'll know that I'm not JUST a customer..." She sits
as the bartender comes out to her and leans against her table. Her
eyes move from the figure to the bartender. He converses with her
quietly, shakes her hand and goes back behind the bar. Melez's gaze
returns to the figure.
