Looks like a case of bad luck. I'd say just pick the same chest every time and keep your fingers crossed. I've been here for almost 10 years now and don't know of any workaround or loophole for treasure hunt. Try to rack up some chips by playing hard mode concentration (0 risk) or by spamming coin flip (mild risk, I bet 1k chips every time I participate in medal rally and end up with 500k+ in profit by the end) while betting a small amount of chips (you may want to bet 100 or less if you're low on chips) and treat treasure hunt like a place where you dump these game chips every 10 minutes. Lastly, that message asking you if you're sure has no effect on the outcome as far as I know. It's just there to give you a slither of hope before taking it away the next instant.
