YEP. Title says it all.
This is a thread for everyone who wants recommendations on a subject - be it books, games, anime, movies, etc etc.

I was giving some book names to another user, and then it came to me that it'd be nice to have such a thread.
So yeah, feel free to recommend/ask for titles here! Don't be shy~ Just be sure to state what you want clearly and as specific as you can.
For example:
instead of writing "i want an adventure book"
use this instead: "I want something adventure/action based, mostly fantasy (even though sci-fi would also be a good theme), that's around 400 pages."

So yeah.
I'm gonna start cause i pretty much already watched the entire Netflix website owo
Does anyone know any good medieval movies, or even like cute animations (preferably not incredibly famous ones like How To Train Your Dragon or Big Hero 6 cause there's a BIG chance I've already seen it)? I don't mind stuff with blood.

yoooooooo
Sci-fi like... Really sci-fi stuff with aliens and futuristic technology and robots?
Or can it be something a bit more light and political?

For Delujay and related to Mari's first reply: Magi is totally worth it - says the one who has Magi as probably her favourite manga so far - however if you watch both seasons you'll be like "alrgith what's going to happen now" because the manga is a loooot more advanced and the anime covers like half of the manga.
Blue exorcist yeeeeeesh - even though I barely remember stuff
FMA is rather long though so if you prefer short ones, better go with Blue exorcist or Magi. Also FMA is actually two parts which are FMA and FMA brotherhood, that I wouldn't consider two seasons, but two anime related, same base and characters with some modifications...important modifications.

Btw is it a problem if I throw in here a list of stuff I'd suggest including small info of it? .w.

Magi is so totally worth reading. I seriously mean it. You're missing out on a lot if you don't read it.
Awesome story, nice art, and just everything about it is great. Especially the characters. You'll love them all.
But yes, like Abby said, the second season of the anime ends at a small cliff hanger, and I know for a fact you would want to know what happens next.
It gets so much more intense in the manga, and I can't even imagine how awesome Season 3 will be when it's announced/released.

Also, if anyone is interested in another manga recommendation (which hasn't been mentioned here yet), I recommend Noragami.
If you've seen my feeds, you'll know how much I love both the anime and manga.
I've actually read a couple of chapters of it (way before the anime was released - while the manga was still quite new), but then forgot about. Until I heard how popular the anime was, so I started reading it again.
I do have to admit, the manga is better obviously, and it's quite a shame that they made up an ending and made up a whole new character in the anime. Shows that there's a high chance of there not being a season 2.
But that's exactly why I'm suggesting you read Noragami. Genre is; Fantasy, Comedy, Action, Supernatural, Romance. I also have to point out that there is no "romance" genre for the anime, so I really do recommend reading the manga xD It has a lot more to it.
The romance in this manga is unbelievably cute, and is going at a slow pace (which I like. It's not a rushed romance or anything). The manga isn't just about romance haha. I'm probably making it sound like it is. There's a lot of intense moments. Heart breaking moments as well. It's just really worth reading.
It's a monthly release, and a single chapter is around 48-52 pages long. There's currently 52 chapters (The 52nd one was released a couple of days ago)

I'm someone who's read the manga from the beginning, but if you're someone who has already watched the anime, and don't want to start reading from the beginning, then I suggest you start reading from chapter 12. Unlike in the anime, the story still continues.

...

Yeah, have an extra recommendation (since somebody was bound to mention this manga). Tokyo Ghoul. Both the anime and manga are great. Except season 2 of the anime. It's a complete new made up story, which has annoyed the fan base a lot. So I suggest you read the manga after you finish watching the first season.
Considering the first season has only 12 episodes, it has skipped a lot of scenes from the manga - so really, it's your choice whether you read from the beginning or read from where the first season ended (Around chapter 66 I think).

I'll just tell you that the feels in this manga are legit. The feels will trample all over you and I mean it.

If you've finish reading Tokyo Ghoul and enjoyed it, I highly recommend you read Tokyo Ghoul:RE. It's sorta like a sequal, and is just as good as the original Tokyo Ghoul. New characters you will love, and old characters from the prequel.

Welp, I don't know that many, besides Eragon and Game of Thrones, so..*shrugs*

I was just hoping someone could recommend an anime which has a strong female protagonist and a good plot, with fantasy/sci-fi themes, maybe a little bit of romance, except for Magi and Sword Art online. Granted, I'd like a bit of action thrown into the mix as well.

I kinda also need song suggestions, so.. any good songs to recommend, preferably something that have lyrics that strike and inspire someone, like Lindsey Sterling's Shatter Me or Fall Out Boy's Immortals?

I actually havent seen Game of Thrones, even though I started reading the first book waaay before they decided to turn it into a series. Is it well made, or?

Hmmmm. With a female protagonist, thats a bit hard. D: You can always try Elfen Lied //shot (lots of blood but at least it's sci-fi). You could probably start somewhere along these: [1] [2] [3]

As for songs... I dont usually pay attention to the lyrics cause I have a hard time figuring out what they say lol. But if you want I can link you to one of two of my Youtube playlists, and you can see if there's anything in there that you like.

Before I ask... Eeveelution I would recommend Lose Yourself by Eminem, that song always motivates me. (Of course, it is Eminem...)
Anyway, what good anime are there that have cats? I just like seeing cats and watching anime xD

@Marikot: Honestly, it seems pretty good to me despite the *ahem* violence, and such, so...

On another note, I'll check out Seirei no Moribito, since it seems interesting, and maybe, Free! Liirah's urging

As for the playlist, yeah, why not, since half the songs I listen to I have inadvertently stumbled across...but hey, I don't listen to the lyrics either~

@BlackStripedPika: Really? I'll go and check it out then.

IMPORTANT: anytime I may add more stuff

Sowee Mari dear, you are too picky and I have no clue xD

Lemme suggest stuff - if it has a star (⋆) it is something I love/would really suggest. Copy-pasting some info tho from places, but also giving my opinion.

(Name with link to myanimelist - for genre, plot and episodes)
(Opinion)

Imsobadatgivingopinions so forgive me if they are not that good :'D

Anime
Show hidden content

Detective Conan

Quite well-known, but it's mostly "filler" about like 600 ways to kill on anime. There is not much about the main plot, but if you like mysteries and murders, go for it.

⋆ Angel Beats

Probably one of my favourites, it has some funny moments and peculiar characters, but many heart-breaking/sad/touching moments in which you should have your tissues ready to be used. It is quite short, so it's fast to see it. The end made me cry like a baby.

Danganronpa

Just saying it has blood and some strange sense of violence when they are murdered. It is mysterious and there's a variety of characters there even though not many are left in the end. Honestly...if you like mystery and don't mind blood (which is shown as pink actually lol), go for it :b

Fairy tail

Basically stuff that happens to the guild called Fairy Tail, other guilds and troubles they meet. Includes dragons, demons and god slayers, zodiac signs fighting, stupid incredibly random and funny moments, but also feels because of their relations mainly. If you like the anime you should totally go for the manga as its quite a bit more advanced in the story.

FMA Brotherhood

Be careful! there is another that is just FMA without the brotherhood part - if you want to watch both, then do the normal first and then brotherhood. I suggest this last one though if you just want to watch one, as it is quite better, in my opinion. Alchemy, weirdo "monsters", a tiny adorable main character sorry Al called Edward. Action, fights, alchemy and shonen in the air.

Kore wa and Kore wa of the dead.

Mostly hilarious, random, no-sense anime. It doesn't have much of a plot, except on the last chapters in which there is some serious part. But as said, mostly suggested if you like to laugh with an anime with a zombie, two vampire-ninjas, a necromancer and a magic girl.

Log horizon and SAO

Can't suggest one without the other, as both are MMORPG (?) based. People trapped into a game, action stuff.
Regarding characters: Log > SAO
Regarding plot/action: SAO > Log
I personally prefer Log because of the characters and all, but admittedly it's lacking some action, so if you prefer action...go for SAO

⋆ Magi (there's also magi the kingdom of magic - the second season)

Total fan of it. Magic stuff, adventure, fantasy. Sadly both seasons only cover like half of the manga or so - so if you like it better continue reading the manga as the end of the second season is like "okay I want to know more".
I warn you: Magi as anime is quite good and has funny moments, as the manga, but it is slightly less serious - I mean, the manga went from a kinda more "child-ish" to a quite serious plot, to the point that Magi has now a 18-year-old warning on mangafox (possibly because fights and blood?)

Shirokuma cafe

Humor. Few sad moments that are not often seen. Humor. Humor with animals that are like humans. Shirokuma the troll, Panda the lazy, Penguin the "serious", Sasako the human and Llama...the llama.

Manga:
Show hidden content

Two of my favourites:

Ansatsu

Mostly humor, real funny and random manga with a plot that you can't take really serious - except in the last chapters of manga. It is currently airing though.
It is mostly funny - but also has some serious and badass moments.

Pandora Hearts

About to finish this month on retrace 104. The chapters are kinda long at times, nearly 50 pages from time to time.
Gues I'd say dark fantasy? plot-twists everywhere, deaths, fights, mystery and plot-twists.
Did I mention plot-twists? And that no one is what you think they are?
Well I really love the twists.

Same as the anime: I'd suggest Fairy tail, Detective Conan and Magi the labyrinth of magi (+ Sinbad no bouken which is a spin-off) - you can check anime part for these

Books
Show hidden content

The name of the wind (and the other two books - last one to be published)

From Kingkiller chronicles. Rather long books that may either bore you or get you hooked and you won't stop reading. It has some charming characters you may really enjoy and it's mostly fantasy. It somehow "mixes science and magic" I'd say - not magic, but alchemy. Can't describe it.
Tells you the story of Kvothe, the main character, who survived the attack of strange creatures - from what I remember not much is clear about them, there's mystery around.
