You are dead. You can tell because you are currently floating over your dead body. You are just about to open your mouth to react to your new semi-transparent body when you feel a gentle hand tapping on your shoulder. You spin around to see a tall young lady in a long white gown with long blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a dazzling smile. What really catches your attention are the large white wings sprouting from her back and the shining halo floating over her head. She holds her hand out for a handshake, not waiting to pump your arm up and down in the air. "Hello, my name is Melanie, angel in training! I need you to fill this form out for me, alright?" She says enthusiastically, holding a clipboard with several pieces of paper clipped on it out to you. She pulls a pen out of midair and gives that to you as well.

Rules Of The Afterlife:
1. Thou shall not enact harm upon the living nor the dead (No killing)
2. Thou shall not possess any humans or other spirits (No bunnying)
3. Thou shall not attempt to use thy powers to bend reality (No Godmodding/Logic Breaking)
4. Thou shall not use foul language (No swearing)
5. Thou shall not change thy appearance to thy's ideals (No Mary/Gary Sues)

Once you fill put the form, you hand the paperwork back to Melanie. "Thanks!" She says, beginning to rise into a pillar of light. "It'll take a while for you to get processed with all these deaths nowadays, but don't worry, I'm sure you won't be stuck on Earth for long! A decade at most! Okay, bye, I got some other ghosts to attend to!" She says before she vanishes in a bright flash. You just float there in confusion and shock before deciding to return to reality.

You are not dead. You, however, can see the dead. You are currently staring at a dead person. The dead person in question has short black hair and is wearing a black hoodie and gray jeans. Her dark gray eyes look up at you, and you realize that she's holding a large scythe in her left hand. As you gasp at the large weapon, she blinks and pulls a stack of papers on a clipboard and a pencil out of her front pocket. She shily shoves them in your general direction, mumbling, "Please, fill this out..." You look down at the clipboard and pen, suddenly solid in your hands.

Once you finish filling out the form, you hand the clipboard and pen to the strange spirit, who timidly takes them and tucks them back into her hoodie pocket. "Good luck, you'll need it..." She mumbles before disappearing in a puff of dark smoke. You stand there in confusion for a while before deciding to resume everyday life.

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Description:

^^Anime pics that ought to give you an idea of what she looks like.

A dark-haired girl with strikingly bright green eyes with a skinny frame and a sharp tongue. She might seem like an innocent, vulnerable kid at first, but watch out. She has a penchant for raising Cain whenever she feels like it's getting a little too peaceful, and she will cut you down if you appear to be a little too full of yourself.

However, despite her tough demeanor, she's really quite lonely and longs for a friend who won't backstab her. Clearly has trust issues, and she rarely ever backs down from a fight. She usually wears a pair of worn out blue jeans, and a lace white semi-transparent long sleeved blouse with a sleeveless denim vest thrown over it. Occasionally, she dons a random casual dress just for the heck of it.

Her hair is either just let down or tamed with a few ribbons. Probably her only constant accessory is a ring embedded with opals of various colors. Any attempts to steal it from her usually result with the person getting sent into the infirmary. Her skin tone is a sickly shade of white, which hints at the secret fact that she is almost always sick.

History: - (To be RP'd ouo)

Near Death Experiences: Quite a few...

Name:
Kai Raymond

Gender:
Male

Age:
19

Description:

Kai is slightly taller than most men his age and has a lean, almost skinny, build. His skin tone is fairly pale but stays in the range of healthy looking. Kai's brownish blonde hair is styled as a somewhat messy mohawk and his eyes are chocolate brown.

He wears slightly worn out grey jeans, a pale blue button-up shirt with a dark green hoodie thrown on top of it and a pair of red converse.

Kai is usually cheery and tends to wear a smile on his face most of the time. He seems like the overly nice guy who's always ready to help you at all times, which is only a part of the truth. Kai is undoubtedly a very friendly fella but he's also childish and naive and lacks the ability to say no.

History:
Kai was always a polite child and didn't usually think to question his parents or anyone else for that matter. ever since he was a child, he has been trusting and only choosing to see the good things and deny the bad ones even existed. His parents realized it wasn't healthy and tried to teach their child that not all people are good but the boy never quite understood why he shouldn't talk to nice strangers who only wanted to chat with him. As he grew up, Kai finally realized that there was evil in the world but he still refused to assume anyone was bad until he had definite proof of it.

The boy never got the best grades in school but he didn't have to worry about failing either, he was simply average. though being average didn't make him invisible, he was well liked among teachers and his peers due to his good manners and cheery attitude. However, his tendency to give a hand to pretty much anyone wasn't such a good thing in high school anymore. His classmates eventually figured he would be easy to take advantage of. If they were nice to Kai on few occasions and let him hang out with them, he wouldn't say no if they asked him to carry their books or let them copy his homework. They didn't overdo it either so they managed to keep Kai on their leash through their years in high school.

After graduation, Kai applied to few universities and got accepted into one. His parents decided to get him a car as a gift to celebrate and to surprise him. It wasn't a fancy car, just an old cheap metal box but it working just fine and served its purpose. This very car would later play an important part in his death.

Cause Of Death:
Gave a lift to a hitchhiker who turned out to be a serial killer, which made Kai 'Victim number 7'.

Username: Death (The irony...)

Name: Lydia Sparrow (Her best friends nicknamed her Birdie.)

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Description:

Lydia a hazel-eyed girl (her eyes have a ring of brown on the inside and a ring of green on the outside of the same width) who is is quite short for her age, and (sadly) has already stopped growing. She's only 5'1" (155 cm). Her chest size is quite large (which she says is both a blessing and a curse), and she's been called a once or twice, even though she's asexual and even dresses somewhat conservatively. (She doesn't wear sleeveless shirts except for pajamas, and doesn't wear short shorts either.)

She can usually be seen wearing geek t-shirts (usually fitted/tight shirts) with anime/video game/book references on them, skinny jeans, and converse. The outfit she died in was (ironically) one with Majora's Mask and the Happy Mask Salesman on it, along with the words "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" (I'm assuming the dead have on the outfits they were wearing when they die.)

History: Lydia was the quiet kid who sat in class without talking to anyone unless they happened to be sitting next to their best friend. While she got straight A's, mainly because her parents would disown her otherwise, she never really cared for school, except her art classes. Whenever she wasn't at school, at work, or doing homework, she could always be found hanging out with one of her close friends, playing video games, or surfing the internet.

To Lydia, nothing was ever just black and white. She believed that everything good had a dark side, and everything bad had a good side. Being dead has been a strange experience to her, since it wasn't quite what she'd expected it to be. Although floating around was disorienting at first, she grew to like it as she became accustomed to the feeling. She enjoys people-watching, since most of them can't see her, as well as talking to her friend who can see her.

Cause Of Death: Car crash. A t-bone, to be specific. She was driving through an intersection with her friend when a car ran the red light and crashed into them on the driver's side, killing Lydia and nearly doing the same to her friend.

Name: Tristram ("Tris") Mercer

Gender: Male

Age: 17 (In the same grade as Lydia, though.)

Description:

Tristram is just below average height for your typical high school boy, but he's still taller than Lydia (who for some reason finds it funny now that she can float above him and be "taller"). He's an only child, unlike Lydia, who has two younger siblings. His eyes are a solid green color, with a slight yellowish tinge. He usually wears a green Slytherin scarf that he bought at a convention. (Lydia has a Hufflepuff one, but never wears it for whatever reason.)

History: Tristram met Lydia at the beginning of their Junior year, and have been nearly inseparable ever since. After school, they found every chance to hang out together, and even changed their school schedules so that they would have classes together.

His parents have always given him a relative amount of freedom, as long as he isn't failing in school. Not much happened for most of his life, until the car crash happened. He was driving with Lydia to her house when the crash happened. Although he knows that the accident wasn't his or Lydia's fault, he feels like Lydia's parent still hold a small grudge towards him for something, and there's some slight tension between him and them.

Near Death Experiences: The same car crash as Lydia. He was the passenger who survived since he was sitting on the other side of the car.

Atticus had been dead for 3 months. Currently, she was hiding from somebody. A certain somebody that she did not like. Mainly because of hugs, but also because she was an angel. Melanie appeared in front of Atticus, startling her out of the wall she had hidden in. "Ah!" She exclaimed before realizing that she wasn't being glomped. She peeked out of the corner of her eye and spotted a rather serious look on Melanie's face, which was strange because she was almost always happy. Melanie unrolled a scroll in front of Atty's face. "What's that?" She asked as she uncurled from her defensive position. "I found the rogue reaper. The one who's been killing people. The one who killed you." Atticus's bewildered expression turned into a serious glare. "Who is it?" "His name is Damien Douglas. He used to be a suicide, just recently turned about 3 months back. Went on a power trip and a murder spree. At least 7 of his victims have been resurrected as ghosts, though about half of them became suicides right after. I haven't told them they were killed by him yet." Melanie replied.

In case you didn't already know, there are several outcomes of someone dying. Most of the time, the spirit of the dead guy became a ghost. A regular old ghost. Ghosts were usually gathered by spirit guides, who were basically the interns of the spirit world. They just got the newly dead to their destination in the afterlife. Next, there were angels. These were the people who had pretty much all good karma when they died. There were several types of angel, all with their own dress codes and such. There were reapers, (aka angels of death,) arch-angels, (battle angels,) and guardian angels, just to name a few. Melanie was a guidance angel, one of those peppy girls who had to keep the newly dead from, for lack of a better term, double dying. There were also cupids, who had to wear these pink suits and spread love and positive emotions and such. Basically what you would expect of a cupid. However, there's always a place for those terrible people in the world. As you Peeps with mostly bad karma would turn into demons, which were, y'know, just pretty much evil angels with bat wings. They convinced people to do evil deeds and be selfish and such. So yeah, pretty much anti-angels. And of course, there were suicides. Y'know how cupids spread joy and cheer? Suicides were the opposite of that. They made people feel depressed and guilty and angry and all that. They were the ones that whispered in your ear that nobody cared, that you weren't important. Anyways, when you died, you became a ghost, unless you had enough karma to become either a demon or an angel. When a spirit guide got to you, you would follow him and either get a ghost job, wander on Earth, or go to heaven or heck, whichever you deserved. If you wanted to help but didn't want to be an intern, you could become a cupid. If a demon corrupted you, you became a suicide. If an angel purified you, you went back to being a cupid. If you double died, you were reduced to a little ball of glowing light, a soul orb, if you will. Explanation complete, resuming storyline.

Atticus's fists balled up at her sides, but she stopped to think for a moment. "Could I talk to them?" "Excuse me?" "Could I talk to them. Like, tell them about why they died?" Melanie thought for a second, pondering the idea in her mind. "Sure, why not. But you'll have to find their souls yourself, okay?" "Yeah, I got that." "Also look out for the living ones touched by Damien. They were dead at one point of time, so they can see us. Make sure that they don't flip out and accidentally unlock their powers and stuff, alright?" "Yes mother." Melanie smiled before vanishing in a flash of light, leaving Atticus floating in the middle of the street.

He was dead. Very much so, actually. He couldn't be more dead if he tried. Unless there was a way for the dead to die again, like a second death, ghost-death perhaps. It sounded stupid but he hadn't really believed in 'life after death' or whatever it was supposed to be called previously either so it was possible someone could kill a ghost. If 'ghost' was an appropriate way to describe his 'condition', that is. He wasn't exactly an expert when it came to dying.

Kai Raymond is -was- a cheery young man with a whole life ahead of him, at least that's what he had been told. He hadn't exactly expected it to end so soon after all. Maybe it had been destiny and he had never had a whole life ahead of him. Maybe he had never been meant to turn twenty. However, that didn't matter anymore, questioning what happened and what had might have been didn't make him any less dead than he was. The oddly shaped bruising on his neck was enough of a reminder of the finality of the situation.

The lad's carefree and trusting nature had eventually turned against him and if anyone who had known him when he had been alive could see him now, standing in the middle of a street, they would have had a hard time recognizing him. The smile that had been plastered on his face pretty much 24/7 was gone, the once cheery warm eyes were cold and lifeless as the boy lazily watched people walk right past him. None of them saw him. None of them knew he was there.

He hated it. He didn't want to be alone. What good were his jokes if no one was there to hear them? Why should he smile if no one could see it? What good was he if he couldn't help the old lady who seemed to be struggling with her groceries while everyone just ignored her? Kai couldn't remember how long he had been dead. A week? A month? Honestly, it didn't really matter either, he had no obligations, he didn't have to be anywhere nor was anyone waiting for him.

He hadn't been as apathetic from the beginning, no. Like any other sane person, Kai had freaked out. He had refused to believe what had happened. He had tried to find a logical explanation. He had tried to find a way to undo what had happened. He had screamed until his throat was raw and bleeding in hopes someone, anyone, would hear him. No one ever did. He doubted anyone ever would.

As he was standing on that crowded street, invisible to everyone around him, Kai was clueless as to what to do. How could that Melanie person just leave him there, alone, with no purpose. He was angry, confused and scared but most importantly, he was lost.

Bellatrix was known as a pretty weird child to the rest of the town. Sure, she was cheery and helpful, and very likable as well, but there was something... off about her, or so her neighbors said. She was said to have a very active imagination, as she often talked as if there wasn't just thin air she was speaking to. This wouldn't be very unusual, had she been a young child. Alas, this was not the case, as she had just celebrated her 16th birthday. Many assumed she had suffered brain damage from her father's abusive punishments. Others thought she was just strange in the head. Either way, it didn't really matter, since none of those theories were correct. The truth is, Bellatrix could see the dead. It had been that way ever since she was little, and she didn't really mind all that much. In fact, she probably got along better with the deceased then she had ever did with the living. Her grandmother's ghost seemed to agree with that. Bellatrix was put into her grandmother's custody after her father was arrested for child abuse, though she died shortly after. Bellatrix had continued to live in the cottage instead of being sent to an orphanage, mainly due to the fact that she could already take care of herself just fine. She was happy with that, as she had her granny's ghost to take care of the house when she was gone, such as now.

Today, it was a sunny August afternoon, and Bellatrix was walking down a crowded street. People parted to let her come through, not to be courteous, but because the teenager seriously weirded them out. She had just went to the store to get some groceries when she saw him. The spirit was semi-transparent with a sort of pale blue glow to him, as if he was depressed. He was tall, wearing a pair of worn grey jeans and a green hoodie, with a light brown mohawk to top it all off. He seemed less transparent than a normal spirit, which was a bit odd, but not uncommon for spirits. It probably just meant he hadn't been dead for a long time. Bellatrix walked up next to him, coming to a stop at his side.

"It's a nice day, isn't it?" She said to him cheerfully.

[Oh crud, time to go all Flash and write all my RP posts down...February is a busy month. This was awfully short, sorry.]

Keelin was not even remotely amused. No, just...no.

The dark-haired girl glowered menacingly at the semi-transparent being that obviously towered over her. In fact, if the ghost even cast a shadow, they'd be shading her from the sun's glare.

"That, in no way, is funny, Carter," She declared, keeping up the death glare.

Despite the evident fact that the ghost was...well, a ghost, Carter shrank back in terror. He had been a very timid teenager even back when he was alive, and Keelin pretty much terrified him.

"I-I'm so-so-" The poor boy stammered.

"GET OUT!" Keelin hollered at him, her hand flicking a single pocketknife out of her jean pocket, flashing threateningly in the sunlight.

Carter let out a pathetic whimper before scampering away.

Keelin let out a sigh of frustration before bending her knees and sitting down on the sidewalk. Those ghosts....why wouldn't they just leave her alone? As if the town needed any more proof she was a freakazoid. Plus her nightmares were getting worse.

"We're coming..."

Keelin shuddered, the cold feeling washing over her. Ever since that damn accident. No, she couldn't think about the accident. She just couldn't.

"Okay, toughen up," She murmured to herself, pulling herself up halfheartedly.

The sunlight seemed to warm her a bit as she forced back the horrible memories.

"You can't hold us back for long," The voices seemed to cackle.

Kai didn't even bother acknowledging the approaching footsteps. It was just another person passing him by, right? He had no reason to assume anything else. However, when the footsteps came to a stop right next to him, Kai turned his head to look whoever it was out of confusion and curiosity. A girl, teenager, younger than he had been with red hair tied back in a ponytail. That was all his dead brain could register before the girl spoke.

"It's a nice day, isn't it?"

Saying Kai was shocked would be an understatement, he literally jumped out of surprise. For a second, he thought she had spoken to him until the rational part of his brain took over and he reasoned she must have talked to someone behind him or something. However, as he spun around the see who the girl was talking to, Kai saw no one. The crowded street wasn't so crowded around the redhead and him anymore. The people couldn't see him so they must be avoiding the girl, right? Speaking of which, Kai turned back around to face the girl again. Could she really see him?

Somewhere inside him a small flicker of hope made itself known as Kai squinted his eyes at the teenager in front of him, staring right into her green eyes with a mix of longing and doubt. He didn't really know what he should let himself believe. Maybe he was in fact missing something and it was just a huge misunderstanding. Well, there was only one way to know for sure, right?

"Can you... see me? Can you really hear me?"

Kai knew exactly what answer he wanted to hear but he didn't dare to let himself hope for too much or he'd just end up disappointed. Why would this girl be any different than the rest of the people?

Bellatrix smiled, nodding. She reached out and shook his hand, a feat that could only be accomplished by someone who had the ability to see spirits in the first place. "My name is Bellatrix, what's yours?" She asked cheerfully, releasing his cold hand. Spirits seemed to produce an air of coldness around them, whether they chose to or not. This was the main reason Bellatrix chose to wear her black fingerless gloves all the time.

Atticus's search for newly deads, as she liked to call them, was not going as well as she had hoped. Currently, she had found none of the spirits she was looking for. Sighing, she sat down on the sidewalk next to a really pale girl with ribbons in her hair. "I'm having a bad day, what about you?" She asked, not expecting a response back.

Keelin nearly jumped out of her own skin, her attempt to jump back failing, thus ending with her landing unceremoniously on her back, her feet kicking uselessly at the air (narrowly just missing the ghost, but yeah, it didn't really matter.)

"Good grief!" She cried, her hands scrabbling for support. "Don't scare me like that!"

Keelin managed to collect herself, finally hauling herself in a sitting position. Her heart was still pounding unnecessarily against her breastbone, and it took her yet another moment to catch her breath.

She gave the person a once over and sighed in disbelief. "How many ghosts even wander around here? The nearest cemetery is like, two miles away," Keelin scowled as she pushed away a lock of rebellious hair.

The ghost was evidently a girl, with black hair oh so similar to Keelin's and startling gray eyes. The usual chilly air that came along with the "ghost" package was there, and Keelin's sixth sense was buzzing like crazy. For one, Keelin didn't think the girl was even breathing, nor were they blinking. And their movements were eerily out of tune, like someone who had been in a coma for years and had only woken up. Last of all, despite the brightness in the girl's eyes, there was something missing in them. Lifeless, almost.

Keelin was more exhausted than irritated. All day long, she'd been pestered by wailing passing ghosts. Fortunately, her pocketknife usually scared them off, like she'd done with poor Carter. Whatever happened to the stereotype that ghosts couldn't materialize in broad daylight? Or were those vampires? Keelin despised vampires. She preferred to keep her neck clean of any teeth pinpricks, and her blood in her veins.

"Horrible day, say to the least," Keelin finally admitted. At least this ghost wasn't freaking out on her, asking her where their corpse was, etc, etc. "You?"

Atticus's eyebrows went up a bit in surprise. Though she hadn't expected a reply, she knew it wasn't that unusual for the occasional human to be able to see the undead. "I just said it was a bad day for me." Atticus replied. "I just found out my killer is on a murder spree. It's pretty terrible. Now I need to find some of his other victim's spirits before they turn into suicides. Y'know, with your white and azure aura, he would prolly come after you too. Can you use an aura weapon yet?" Atty asked. "Oh wait, that was rude, sorry. Names before death talk. I'm Atticus, what's your name?"

Kai was dumbfounded, frozen in spot. He could only stare as the girl shook his hand, it had been a while since anyone had been able to touch him as well. He was rather overwhelmed by it all, Kai didn't know how to respond. When Bellatrix released his hand, Kai opened his mouth to respond to her but he found himself unable to talk and he closed his mouth again. He more or less looked like a gaping fish on dry land at that point but he couldn't have cared less.

When his mind finally wrapped itself around the fact that this girl could indeed see, hear and even touch him, his usual smile that hadn't decorated his features for a while found its way back on Kai's face as he stammered out a reply, obviously still shocked almost speechless.

"Uhh... Oh right, I... I'm Kai. It's... really nice to meet you."

Which was the truth. Kai had never enjoyed solitude much and the being dead part of his 'life' had more or less been torture for him so far. However, if Bellatrix was able to see him, maybe there was others like her.

"Can you see... others like me too? Are there more people like you? Wait, why can you see me in the first place? Are you some kind of superhero or a psychic like in the comics? No, that doesn't make sense... But ghosts don't make sense either and I'm here so I don't really know what makes sense anymore. Though I'm pretty sure Superman still isn't real even though ghosts are."

Kai was finally beginning to fully understand the situation and his confusion was starting to make room for excitement, which resulted in him blurting out a flurry of questions at the poor girl and then just rambling on without giving her time to answer said questions first.

"Wait, slow down on the questions, okay!" Bellatrix said, giggling a bit. "And yes, yes, and I nearly died once." She shrugged. "No biggie. Hmm, you look like a C class spirit. It's a good thing that a suicide hasn't found you yet. Hey, y'wanna come over to my place? I haven't got any friends, so maybe we could be friends or something?" She mumbled, feeling somewhat lonely. Sure, granny was nice company, but she didn't really understand teenagers. Her peridot, white streaked aura gave a little pulse, causing Bellatrix to look up. She saw a reaper being chased by another reaper into an alley. She squinted, recognizing the chaser. It was Evelyn, the reaper that first registered her as an official spirit medium. She could probably take care of whatever she was doing. She returned her gaze to Kai, giving a small grin. "It'd be nice to have a friend for once."

Keelin shrugged, relaxing considerably. She'd been getting used to seeing the supernatural, it only took her a few minutes to recover. In fact, the other day she'd seen a headless ghost stumbling around, and she had managed to stay conscious.

"Ooookay," She said slowly. "Supernatural serial killer on the loose. Can't you like, I don't know, expel him from the world or something? Uhh, an exorcism? Yeah, that's the word."

Keelin's eyes widened for a fraction of a second. "Oh, crud, sorry. You're a ghost too. Sorry," She apologized hastily.

She blew another stubborn lock of hair away from her eyes. Conversing with the dead, she decided, was certainly weird. "White and azure aura? Oh. That glowing thing," Her eyebrows scrunched up in concentration. "Well, nope, can't use whatever weapon you're talking about. Yet, at least. The only thing I can use to ward off annoying ghosts," She flicked her pocketknife out of her jean pocket, the silver blade glinting in the light, "is this. Which is weird. I think I can agree everything is weird. Oh, I'm starting to ramble again. Sorry," She gave a rare sheepish smile, "I tend to do that sometimes. My name's Keelin. Nice to meet you, Atticus."

She started to offer her hand for a handshake, stopped midway, and quickly withdrew it. "Damn, I keep forgetting. So, murders? And the heck is a suicide? Oh, wait, no, silly me. Self explanatory."

Kai shrunk back in on himself slightly out of embarrassment as he realized he was rambling. It didn't seem like Bellatrix minded it much though. However, the young man's embarrassment changed to confusion in record time. C class spirit? A suicide, like a 'living' thing? Kai always though suicide was just, well, killing oneself, not a thing that could find him. Whatever it meant, he didn't really like the sound of it so he'd rather not find out what a 'suicide' was.

Wait a second, something about being friends was also mentioned. While Kai was gaping at what he had just heard, Bellatrix seemed to spot something nearby but by the time Kai managed to turn his head to look what it was, whatever the young girl had seen was long gone. He returned his attention to the grinning girl in front of him and he couldn't help but smile at her. He hadn't had friends since, well, since he died.

"Sure, I'll be your ghost buddy!"

However, Kai couldn't help but feel slightly unsure as he took a glimpse at their surrounding. All the passers-by were avoiding Bellatrix like the plague since from their perspective, she had been talking to thin air this whole time. Having a dead person as her friend would probably prevent the young girl from having friends that were actually alive. Kai would be more than happy to be Bellatrix's friend but that was rather selfish of him.

"Though... Are you sure you wanna be friends with a dead guy? I mean, you could have real friends. You know, the kind of friends that breathe."

Bellatrix followed Kai's line of sight, noticing the passing people, parting around her as if she were a stone in a river. "Eh, it's fine. People don't like me, but I don't mind. It's not like it's the first time I've spoken to an imaginary friend before. Or at least, imaginary to them." She gave a little glance around her. "They think I'm odd in the head anyways. Damaged goods. That's why I prefer supernatural company." She grabbed Kai's hand, pulling him towards her little cottage. "My place is over here, see?" She said, pulling him towards the cozy building, toting her grocery bag along.

Atticus shook her head. "You're thinking about a different type of suicide. I'll explain later. We should probably go somewhere where people won't think you're hallucinating, don't you think?" She asked, noticing a pair of passerby staring at Keelin. "Why don't we go to my house? You could say that you're paying your respects to me and such. My little sister Emily has been feeling pretty upset lately. I have some stuff in my room that I need to show someone living anyways. Do you know anyone called Ms. Wetherall? My associate told me to look for her. She said I needed a registered medium to help me with my little... situation."

[Urp, sorry. Been so busy with other stuff, forgot about this one.]

Keelin waved her hand carelessly while shooting some passerby a look of pure venom. They immediately looked away. "Pft, screw them," She muttered, "but okay."

Arching an eyebrow, she made eye contact with Atticus. "My surname is Wetherall," She mumbled. "And since when did I become a registered medium?" She inquired curiously.

"Oh! Well then, I need you to come with me. Didn't you speak to a reaper or angel or anything lately? Never mind, we can talk about this later." Atticus had been dead long enough to know how to interact with mediums and small objects/devices and such. She grabbed Keelin's hand and towed her to a light blue house at the end of the street. It used to seem cheery and bright, but now it seemed strangely bleached, pale amongst the other houses. She pulled Keelin in front of the door and rang the doorbell. After a few seconds of waiting, Atticus's mother answered the door. She looked like an older version of Atti, but with brown hair and blue eyes, dim with sadness. She had dark bags under her eyes, which contrasted to her pale yellow dress. "O-oh, hello. I'm assuming you were a friend of Atticus's? I didn't know she had any friends... S-she was such a quiet girl..." She said, her voice quivering. She looked back up to Keelin, rebuilding her constitution. "Come in, come in. You probably want to see her room one more time. It's only fitting, she never had any friends come to visit her before... Follow me." Atticus and Keelin followed Atti's mother up a staircase into a room. The bedroom was sparse, containing only a bed, several bookshelves, a desk, and a loveseat on the window. "I'll just leave you here for now. I... I need to get some chores done." The woman left the room, closing the door and silently trudging down the stairs. Atticus sat down on her bed, trying her best to hide the faded bloodstains on the deep blue sheets. She patiently motioned for Keelin to sit down.

"Oh... Okay."

Kai honestly didn't know what else to say. Bellatrix said she didn't mind being treated like a freak by other people but the dead youngster found it hard to believe. If he was in such a situation, he would have minded. A lot. However, Bellatrix wasn't him and that was probably a good thing. When the young girl grabbed Kai's hand and started leading him to a rather cute looking cottage, he didn't protest. It had been a long while since he had simply held anyone's hand. It felt warm.

He reluctantly released Bellatrix's hand when the two of them reached the cottage the girl was vacating and Kai took a second to just observe the building. It was small and looked like a cozy place to live in. It was like one of those cottages where some weird outsider who was hated by the 'normal' people would live in the movies and such. The fact that Bellatrix would live in such a place was rather sad actually. However, on the other hand, the cottage also looked like the place where a group of teenagers would go to spend a weekend in before getting slaughtered by a homicidal maniac. Like the one who killed him.

Mentally shaking those wandering thoughts out of his head, Kai turned to look at Bellatrix again as he offered her a small smile.

"Looks like a nice place... Do you live here all by yourself?"

"Naw, granny still stays here with me. It's kind of sad that she was unable to pass on after she took her dirt nap, she's such a nice person." Bellatrix said, opening the door. "Granny, I'm home! I brought a friend too!" She called, just as a short and ghostly woman floated through the doorway to the kitchen. She was semi-transparent, with gray hair and a large pearl necklace. The little old woman looked surprisingly like a stereotypical grandmother, even holding a plate of cookies. "Oh! Hello there! Trixie honey, I made cookies if you and your young friend here want any, alright?" "Kay granny!" Bellatrix said, closing the front door as granny floated out of the room. "She had Alzheimer's when she passed, so she doesn't remember that she died. I have no idea how she's able to interact with physical objects, but it's pretty cool. The cool thing about ghosts and mediums is that when ghosts interact with mediums, it's as if the ghost were still alive. Moving physical objects is a whole different story however, but I bet you could be able to if you practi-" And then Bellatrix collapsed into a heap on the floor. At first, she was motionless, but after a few seconds she let out a small snore.

"Oh...that visit," Keelin realized. "I met a reaper, yes-" She was cut off by Bellatrix dragging her to a light blue house at the end of the street. She was so stunned that Atticus managed to touch her that she didn't protest.

A quick glance at their new surroundings made Keelin note that the house seemed almost lifeless, much like the ghost who had dragged her there. The woman who answered the door obviously was Atticus' mother, and Keelin decided not to speak at all.

"Your mom can't see you?" was the first thing that popped out of Keelin's mouth. She sat down, her bright green eyes inspecting the ghost girl with wariness and curiosity.

(pfft, you swapped Atticus with Bellatrix XP)

"Of course not! I'm dead! And only certain people can see ghosts and spirits anyways." Atticus said, crossing her arms. This was somewhat of a sore subject for her. "It's pretty sad actually. The only people who can see me, other then you and the already dead are this annoying girl who lives across the street and-" "Me!" Atti was cut off at that moment due to a little girl jumping out of Atticus's closet. She looked somewhat like a minature version of Atticus, except for her eyes, which were a stunning blue. She was wearing a little blue dress that looked a bit big for her, but she didn't seem to mind. "Who's this Atti?" She asked, suddenly quieter, standing by Atticus's side. "Just a new friend of mine. Her name is Keelin." The little girl held out her hand shyly to the medium. "Hello Keelin, I'm Maddy."
