Dei's eyes flashed open. She'd been a sorceress long enough to sense if they were in a different dimension or not. Finding Cliantha sitting against a tree trunk, Dei woke her.
"Wha-"
Dei put a finger to her lips, silencing her and letting her know what was up. Cliantha stood up, eerily not making a sound. There was a crack of a twig behind them, and Cliantha shot around, bolts of electricity arcing from her hands and straight at the creature.
The creature, however, was faster than either girl had anticipated. It swept to the side, and it was already off running when the lightning hit.
"That, is anything but ordinary," Cliantha remarked as she picked up her knapsack, which lay on the ground.
Dei was too busy to hear. Her luminous eyes glowed brightly as she murmured a few inaudible words. She splayed her hand, and a nearby plant burst into shining white powder, before re-building itself. Cliantha watched this, mildly interested as Dei withdrew her hand.
"It seems that we are dreaming this," Dei stated matter-of-factly. "We must have fallen asleep while riding that asteroid."
"I've heard of this place, actually," Cliantha replied, running a finger across a nearby tree trunk. "A place where Hypnos can't enter. It's not from our world."
Dei took this statement rather calmly. "Well, Talia wasn't from our world either. And she still managed to stop an entire asteroid belt in its tracks."
Cliantha cracked a smile. "Well, let us hope that there is some normal animals to hunt out there. I must say I'm famished."
Dei nodded, and in agreement, both girls drew their bows and quivers out of thin air, taking off running.
