Edit: Oopes, it was dragon, not dark. Well, I was half right :P
Edit Again: It turns out I was right the first time, it is Ghost and Dark. :P

Yes, both Type & Level Matters. I'd say sending out a Pokemon with the level 200 would be good, although a higher level is even better. The Pokemon will need to be either a Dragon type, or a Ghost type. (As Giratina's type is Dragon|Ghost)
However, recently the Boss Battles were made slightly higher, due to Riako making a small update which would let the Pokemon return with the map if it looses the boss battle.
Meaning if your Pokemon looses it will return with the map, allowing you to re-send the Pokemon, or make it stronger so it has a higher chance on winning.

When I went to send a pokemon to the Spooky Manor, it told me Ghost or Dark only; Dragon was not part of the list...so unless it was changed after the first 6 hours, it's Ghost and Dark types.

You will randomly get mini games to appear on your screen. In the mini game, you will need to click a specific amount of Giratina sprites in a set amount of time.
There are 4 mini games in total, in where the amount of Giratina Sprites needed increases, and the time set.
After you complete the mini games, you will be able to send a Ghost/Dark type Pokemon to battle Giratina via rumbling. (I'm assuming you will get a special map which will unlock the Boss Area)

By that logic, Sky Pillar would be Flying and Dragon because of Rayquaza's typing, and Terra Cave would be completely restricted to Ground because Groudon is a pure Ground type. :P
Think of it more as the environment they're in and not their typing. A Spooky Manor sounds like it's haunted, and "haunting" and "scaring" is almost always directly in the nature of Ghost and Dark types, so the chances of them being scared compared to other types is likely far lower.
And to help answer the above: yes, after you clear 4 Giratina "mini games", you go back to the Ancient Cave page and you find a Spooky Manor map.
As of right now...seems like exploring it takes forever. I'm on 3.5 days and still counting.

Also i have a question what's the best level to go on the rumble mission? My Gourgeist is Level 233 is that good enough?

So does anyone have any tips for me? Is there an easier way? I know people can do it because they HAVE done it! I just want to know how? Is it best with a tablet or something? Because i'm on Laptop. Forgive me if it seems like i'm breaking any rules because i don't plan on that at all!

If you're using a touchpad, I highly recommend using an external mouse.
if you're already using an external mouse, I'd recommend focusing more attention on clustered groups.

I've failed to complete the second mini game several times now when using a computer mouse because I'm just too slow. Most Giratina I got were 16 or something out of 20. :'D
