The Giratina quest, the one that requires you to clear 4 minigames of increasingly spawning Giratina in order to obtain a Rumble map, while interesting in its own way...still remains a little "broken" to this day.

As it stands now, you input a Griseous Orb, then spend any random amount of time traveling between pages in order to "trigger" the minigame. Clear the minigame, and the next trigger goes to the next level until you clear 4 of them. There are two problems to this formula, and after 5 years, I feel it's time to finally get them taken care of.

Issue 1: The time it takes between triggers is far too random. Sometimes you can get two triggers within 3 page loads, other times you spend well over 15 minutes loading pages just for a single trigger. From inputting an orb to obtaining a map, the full "run" time can vary anywhere from 3 minutes to nearly an hour in the worst luck cases.

Issue 2: Giratina can continuously spawn outside of a normal viewing range, REQUIRING you to use Page Zoom in order to stand a reasonable chance at clearing it. This image is based on a 1920x1080 resolution monitor.

That white box in the upper left simulates your average viewing area at 100% page zoom. That yellow box following simulates your expanded view running at 50% page zoom. The entire image is shown at 25% page zoom. This should not be a requirement, but alas, it is...because the more "normal" your page zoom is, the higher the chances of a Giratina deciding to remain off-screen long enough for you to entirely fail that trigger, thus wasting more of your time.

I've done well over 100 total Griseous Orb conversions. I can't count how many times I've gotten down to one Giratina at 15-20 seconds remaining, only for that minigame to fail (or get extremely close to failing) because said Giratina decides to remain completely out of view for the entire duration (or sometimes deciding to pop up in view for 0.1 seconds before disappearing again).

As such, I propose the following solutions in order to make this quest more consistent and bearable:

Solution 1A: Implement a link on the Giratina Quest page that's only clickable while a Griseous Orb is active, which will trigger a Giratina Minigame when clicked. This will remove the time gamble and make converting Griseous Orbs into Spooky Manor Maps more consistent.

Solution 1B: Increase the chances of a Giratina Trigger happening on page load. You'll still have some unlucky streaks here and there, but this should (in theory) prevent one from having to spend too much time trying for a single minigame trigger.

Solution 2A: Reduce the "spawning field" of Giratina and make it more in-line with today's most common display resolutions, thus reducing the likelihood of a single Giratina spending over 20 seconds outside of your field of view when not using Page Zoom. Note that I'm saying "monitor resolutions" and not "browser resolution" because basing it on browser resolution would be far too easy to abuse.

Solution 2B: Implement a "failsafe", preventing the minigame from having no less than 1 Giratina visible at all times, thus eliminating the chances of one failing a minigame due to a Giratina hiding out of view for extended periods of time. In this instance, one could still have half of the Giratina "out of view", but you will never be spending 10-20 seconds staring at a blank, flickering screen, hoping that those last few Giratina decide to pop into view before you run out of time.

I feel the novelty of this quest has run its course. It's time for a change for the better.

After posting a feed about this and thinking over it some more, I'm going to expand it into a forum game. It'll make things easier for me to keep track of and will allow more people to see it, meaning more entries and overall being a little more "fair". After all, what fun is there if only two people enter?

So what's this "guessing game" about?"

Simply put: I'm obviously hunting down and gathering Halloween Candies for two Event Eggs (20,000), the new Forme item (7,500), and the re-release of the Giratina Forme item (15,000) for a total of 42,500 Candies. While I'll be supplementing the Candy income with Rumbles and Trick Or Treats, I expect most of those Candies to come from Interacting. That's where this game comes in.

To participate in this game, you simply need to make a post to guess the number of GOLDEN GAME CHIPS I will have on-hand once I reach my Candy goal of 42,500.
The closest guess to this number will win one of the Legendary summon items I have in my possession, with that value increasing based on how small the gap is between the winner's guess and the final Golden Game Chip value. I will edit the prize list accordingly if I acquire any new Summon items before this Game ends. Forme-change items are also listed.

Your guess must be an EXACT VALUE! No ranges! No multiple numbers! The one who has the closest guess, EITHER higher or lower, will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, both users will be declared winners. You are free to change your guess at any time prior to the end of the Game, you will just have to bring the new guess to my attention. You must also notify me of any username changes prior to the end of the Game.

The twist? I will NOT be looking at my Golden Game Chips stock until after I reach my Candy goal, so it'll be a mystery to everyone! Rest assured, however, that prior to when I got this idea, I am fully certain I had less than 100 Golden Game Chips to start with.

To give you some ideas on how you might gauge your guesses, you can check these numbers.
Over the course of yesterday, I gained 5700 Candies from Interacting, Rumbling, and Trick Or Treating. I managed 14,706 Interactions. Assuming gaining 200 Candies each from Rumbling and Trick Or Treating, that would give me about 5300 Candies for those 14,706 Interactions, or roughly 1 Candy per 3 Interactions. Golden Game Chips are randomly awarded, but I seem to average 20-25 or so Interactions per Golden Game Chip payout.

When does this game end? When I acquire 42,500 Candies, or when the Halloween Event ends on the off-chance I don't meet my Candy goal.

Currently available prizes, with each line being a prize choice:
Show hidden content
Light Stone x 1
Hard Rock x 2 + Light Rock x 1
Star Piece x 15
Nebula Stone x 3
Nebula Stone x 1 + Resolute Stone x 1
Terra Cave Map + Hollow Space Map
A selection of Fossils, if one wishes.
A selection of Forme items, also if one wishes.
While I do not currently have any Maps, I do have tons of unmatched Keys and Boxes that I may look for matches in the near future.

All current entries, sorted by guess value:
Show hidden content
13,000 - absol-girl
22,000 - Greggory_Lee

If at any point you're curious about my progress towards my goal, I'm keeping track of my Candies in my profile, in a special field on the left, right below the Feed box.

(EDIT)

Game is closed: not enough entries. Such a shame, too, since I racked up a total of 11,777 Golden Game Chips.

Quote from SirStoneAnd even if the Event is trying to be difficult instead of fun or interesting as many events are, that still doesn't change the fact that beating around 1 hour and a half is fairly unrealistic and practically impossible for those that don't have advantages such as Premium and Rare Candies.

Pretty much. If you're not swimming in Rare Candies, don't even bother trying to go for top 30.

With my best attempt, Premium + Flute + 2x Day still only got me a time of 1:30:38. The only way I could've squeezed it down any more than that was if I had gotten every egg in the Tall Grass on the first click.

Wow, I come here to post about this bug that just happened and I find the one it happened to.

The most I can do is throw that Gyarados to you, but hopefully this bug gets the attention it needs.

While Zoom works for me, my issue with it is it's not remembered when active. Every time you go back to the page you have to click Zoom again.

I just unlocked the Bulletin Board, and for the two jobs that are posted, have no actual determinable item associated with them.

The Bulletin Board

The two images point to a URL of "images/.png", so there is no way to determine what the orders want.

(EDIT)

Seems removing a task and letting a new one come up gives you an actual working task, but for now I've left the first one up to see if it does anything other than expire.

If nothing's required other than posting, I would love a spot in this raffle! :'D

As long as you meet the requirements, then yes, all you have to do is make a post and I will assign ticket numbers in order. :3

After obtaining my third Ho-Oh egg through Wonder Trade, I figured instead of throwing it onto the Auction House, I'd do a raffle with it, leaving it up to random chance who will get it. If you don't have a Ho-Oh for yourself and would like the chance to get one, here's one opportunity to do so!

Yes, there are rules and requirements, but they are quite simple. They are as follows:

1. Trainer Level 10 or 1 month registration time. Only one of these two must be met for a valid entry. This is to help ensure that the winning user will stick around.
2. You must not already own a Ho-Oh. Be fair to those who don't have one!

One entry per person. There is no way to obtain or buy more entries. All winning opportunities are equal. If you pass the above two requirements, make a post to be assigned a ticket number. ALL entries will be checked for validity!

All valid recorded entries:

1. Bettalong
2. Rini00
3. MooMooMalk
4. Porygon_Storm
5. ~Raven~
6. DragonSumedh
7. Dokku
8. Pokemonlover28
9. Sounak
10. MegacharizardX49
11. cut3gummy4life
12. Kiraito
13. Bonica
14. Sitri
15. Staraptor
16. LucarioLand
17. Aperture-Blaze
18. vanillite1
19. mage44
20. Red~Genesect
21. Lugia
22. Tyranitar
23. SpicyPants
24. LargeExodia
25. olivierxD
26. Dakar
27. Pikablu
28. Akiru

This raffle will end when all of the following criterion are met:
[■] The Ho-Oh egg in my party has hatched
[■] The hatched Ho-Oh is AT LEAST level 25
[■] One full day has passed since this Raffle was posted (reaching ~23:00 server time, April 16th)

The winner will be drawn via random.org when the raffle period ends.

(If, by some freak accident or massive stroke of luck this Ho-Oh ends up being a shiny, then the raffle prize will instead be the first Ho-Oh that I hatched. Sorry, but I'm not going to give away something that priceless!)

QuoteI'd love to see screenshots of these 2 because I checked those pages multiple times and those are the only 2 I missed, and if they were there I picked them up:

→ Kalos Supply (Gem Collector)
→ GC Lottery Tickets (Last Draw)

I don't have screenshots, but I can tell you:

Kalos Supply - The egg was "hidden" at the Gem Collector's feet in the place of one of the gems. Unless you were specifically looking at it, you wouldn't have noticed it.

GC Lottery Tickets (Last Draw) - You had to go to the page to look at your tickets and select the tab for "last drawing".

Only need egg number 6 to be done. Woo.

QuoteI'm pretty sure the 13th egg, the first one on the final row, is nonexistent. I have looked everywhere. I swear.

I can say without a doubt that this egg exists.
