Just wondering, when you said "mysterious message everywhere" in the OP, would that explain the weird "escape" screen I got today? I had clicked on the banner at the top of the page and got a big White screen reading "EscapeEscapeEscape" in big letters.

But other than my shameless begging, this is totally awesome Riako! I really love all these Easter Eggs (Halloween Candies?) with the escape and the snow and the little girl, totally amazing and awesome! You must have worked super hard on this, and I totally appreciate it! -races around PH to try and find more goodies- <3

Twice I've managed to trigger something which causes the page to flicker gray and black with Giratina images popping up at random locations.

Twice I've failed it. First time was because I wasn't sure what was going on. Second time was because it didn't give me enough Giratinas.

Er...yeah. XD

(EDIT)

Ended up getting it a third time literally right after this post and passed it. Yay progress!

To follow up on this tidbit...it seems I might know what's going on here.

I got this event twice more afterwards, both times I failed due to lack of Giratinas...but the second time, I noticed that it was spawning Giratinas beneath the bottom of the page where I couldn't click them, nor could I scroll to them because the page was locked in place.
