Other links to similar/different gem-related threads (for your convenience!)
Multiple Gem exchanges - JustMe4031
Affordable gem exchanges - moonrise

Each thread is different in their own way, and deserve a read :)
I've only posted the well-thought out threads that I could find, but if you happen to know of others, i'll add them in here, too!

Suggestion;
To have the Gem Exchange page offer you the option of searching for specific gems you're looking for.

As it stands, when you're on the Gems page, looking through the newest offers list, it can be tiresome trying to search for gems that you want. You can't directly search up a specific gem you'd like, but with this implemented, you'd be able to.

eg.
Show hidden content

Something simple like this, just a simple drop down list like you would with choosing your offers.

Whether it be a simple drop down list, or check off boxes, I figure it'd be pretty beneficial for people who are looking for gem-specific trades.

With the exclude: portion, all you'd be using that for, is to exclude trades that include the gems you've checked off.

Once you click "Search", it'd take you to a new page that only shows you what gems you've checked off, and exclude the ones you don't want to see.

Another suggestion I have (falls in the same category of gems exchange, so I'll leave that here as well, is to have an option to hide offers from users we can't trade with because of a lack of gems.
Show hidden content

I figure it'd be very convenient for people who don't have a lot of gems, and are looking for specific trades, but find it annoying trying to sift through all these trades that they can't actually trade with.

The option is simple enough, the list would get filtered through to exclude trades you don't have enough gems for, and only show you a list of trades you can trade with.

Again, sorry if this has also been suggested some place, but considering it's to do with the gems exchange, I figure it'd be worth posting it here as well

I fully support this suggestion, and I admire the amount of work you put into it!

Time and time again, I find that I have to use Ctrl+F and type, then see that everyone else is looking for what I want, and giving away what I am trading away.

If you can read this, you know how to read.

I support the searching for part but the exclusion is going to be a problem. Some trades have more than one gem type sometimes and if you exclude one type it would exclude all trades with that one type of gem but there could also be a gem you are looking for in that certain trade that you just excluded because you excluded the certain type of gem.

you have the fullest of my support on this! Too many a time that I had to search through each individual offer for the one specific gem I wished for!

You're definitively right on that part, the way I see it though, if it was implemented, users would have the choice to not use the exclude portion, if not needed, just leave that area blank/don't check anything off.
I figure it's a good reason to have that in there, just for the sake of users only wanting to find trades looking for one specific gem, but thanks for the input!

Ah, Pumpkaboo, thanks for posting the threads :)
I obviously just didn't search further back enough to find the other threads, so thank you for that.

First post has been updated a bit, as well as another suggestion posted near the bottom of the post, too :)
(pretty much just an option to hide gem offers you can't actually get, because you don't have enough gems the specific user is asking for)

This has been suggested before here (and I think there's another thread with only the 'search for specific gems' thingy but I can't seem to find it right now) but your thread looks nice and is pretty well organized, so we can keep this one up. ^^

I support this idea, but I think that should have also a gem you want to give in exchange filter, so you can look for not only the gems you want but also trades that will give some profit.

Ptoung, I'm well aware of that, someone has already posted stating that, and if you'd had read the comments you'd have seen it :)
(A mod has also posted stating that, too, but has left the thread up because it's very well explained)

I'd personally like to bump this topic.
The Gem Exchange is a mess, and I feel like this could resolve practically every problem I currently have with it.
It would make it to where multiple listings of a Gem are only ones you want. I don't have to scroll forever and a half just to find something that even applies to what I'd be looking for. And it seems like more and more people are posting one hundred and a half listings for just 1 gem for 1 other gem. It's time consuming, and for what ever reason, visually irritating. This will take care of that.
This has all of my support.
