Title: Vanessa, the SocialiteName: Vanessa Rainn-Delacourt Age: 27 as of canon events Origen: Piltover Gender and Sexuality: Female Lesbian Personality: ESFP – 7w6 – Gemini To anyone she meets, Vanessa is a fairly laid-back and sociable individual, with a flair for dramatics. Her open personality makes her easy to approach and engage in conversation. This contributes to her charm, as she knows that people are more likely to talk if they're comfortable. She has a relatively breezy demeanor, willing to live in the moment in a very day-to-day mindset. This doesn't mean that Vanessa doesn't plan ahead, but she sees little point in stressing out about something she cannot control. Her unusual stoicness influences how she remains quiet about her past, as well as how she likes to keep up an air of mystery. Vanessa's attitude, though alluring, has been the subject of controversy in the past, something she responds to with a wry smile and a shrug. Vanessa isn’t just friendly, but cunning and perceptive as well. By drawing people close, she gets a glimpse of the layers they hide beneath. Her ability to tap deep into people’s emotions means that people's reactions mean more to her than they might think. Despite her open demeanor, what people see on the surface rarely matches what's on the inside. Not only is she good at redirecting conversation, but Vanessa is also no stranger to lying. Much of her true nature lies hidden in the shadows of that which she illuminates. Unfortunately, her lack of genuine connection only factors into how cynical and lonely she really is. It's easier to accept the surface-level compliments or insults she receives than to test the waters with a solid relationship that could go sour at any moment. Deceiving yet charming, eloquent yet sharp of wit, Vanessa can be an interesting companion whose demeanor can flip on a dime. Yet, despite her deceitful ways, the ravenette cannot bring herself to be entirely objective. In fact, remaining completely objective is immensely difficult, as she has never seen the world as black and white. As roundabout as her methods may seem, she cares immensely for those who look beyond her wild ways. She just has trouble admitting it without it sounding frivolous or superficial. If Cado wanted to make Lys feel like an animal in a cage, then ... well, that message certainly got across. And there remained the question of the vervain flower. While Lysander was familiar with the flower itself, he had no idea how to obtain it. Nothing grew in the vicinity of the dark forest outside. Navigating it without a flashlight was likely going to be close to impossible. But it was a start. While his body posture appeared defeated and limp, Lysander's mind was churning. But if Cado's deflection was anything to go by, the avian had a confirmation that vervain did in fact have an effect on vampires. Otherwise, why didn't Cado just laugh it off? Point out directly that the flower had no effect on him? If the older vampire was truly so confident that Lysander could do nothing to harm him, then he surely had nothing to lose. Unless he did. Cado feared death more than anything. That much was clear. Perhaps a vervain flower was worse for the vampire's body than he previously thought. Say there was another way through the forest? Lysander pinned the thought against the metaphorical billboard in his mind when he heard a polite knock. He sighed half-heartedly before picking himself up and throwing the door open in a half-hearted gesture. As expected, Calin was waiting patiently, a stack of books in his hand. Fully aware that it was all too easy to kick the younger twin out, Lysander let him in without a complaint. Calin was nothing more than a kicked hound after all. "I'll read it. Might be important." Lysander said flatly, his voice no doubt betraying how tired he really was. Mentally and physically exhausted, and dogged by hunger. Calin seemed to notice this before urging him to bleed the crow lying broken under the table. He couldn't help a cynical scoff. "What, like worse than what your brother likes to do to me? Doubt it. I'm not eating unless I have to." He turned away dismissively, a curt growl on his tongue. "If that's all, leave me alone." He wouldn't touch the crow, even after he saw Calin depart. But he did sit down to read, flipping each page carefully. Looking for mentions of the vervain flower. [Read more] |

Still, more concerning was the stranger's wing - and only one wing, for it appears the other had either been torn off or never existed in the first place. No, but the stranger tucked his wing away in shame, confirming the former was true. A chill ran down his spine and Alethea bristled at the very thought. Regardless of species, there was a general consensus among avian species that to touch someone's wings required their permission. It was a rule ground into Lysander as a child, and he still remembered how he was thumped good and hard by his mother for yanking his brother's wing and pulling his feathers during a fight. Either he lost the wing to a predator... or... Lysander didn't want to consider the alternative. Even allowing someone so close as to be able to cut off a wing was shocking. He nodded thoughtfully at Seilan's words before responding. "I am Lysander Voronova." He pointed to Alethea, "This is Alethea. Your world is quite lovely, but I have no idea how I got here." He made sure to speak clearly in case the stranger was missing something, "This is not my homeworld. I would like to get home. Can you help me?" [Read more] |

Cado had constantly reminded Lysander of a great black-scaled serpent. Given a chance to breathe a little deeper now with more distance allowed, Lysander took a few relieved breaths and stretched out, taking full advantage of the space he was allowed. Space that no longer only belonged to him. "Good riddance." He growled openly, rubbing his neck. Cado hummed thoughtfully, remarking that Lysander's living quarters, his bed, was as undesirable as they appeared. He scoffed, "If you don't like it, get out." Never one for close contact in particular, the avian doubted he would miss the cramped feeling of Cado pinning him against the wall. A thud beckoned Lysander's attention downwards as the limp corpse of a crow thumped against his foot. The avian's response was automatic. Leaping upwards like a coiled spring, he let out a sharp yell of fury and disgust and slammed backward into the nightstand. Even eating anything relating to birds was disgusting enough. He had eschewed it all his life, refusing to take a bite. Reacting instinctually, Lysander snatched up the crow and threw it as far away from him as possible. It hit the wall with a dull smack and the crunch of a few more broken bones. Cado's mocking laughter trailed down the hall. The avian eventually withdrew to the bed, wings quivering madly with disgust and raw fear. The crow lay where it landed, dead eyes staring. [Read more] |

Alethea let out a small choked noise - probably from the impact of the fall resonating within her form or because Lysander was squeezing her too hard. Eventually, he let her stretch out shakily. Wings normally glossy and sleek from ample preening were bristling, shaking with the force of her entire body. She didn’t acknowledge the very-strange-avian-looking-stranger, however, because the two of them were still taking some time to collect themselves. However, when the stranger dared to come closer, the heron puffed up indignantly. “Watch it. Hasn’t anyone told you touching someone else’s wings is rude?” A narrow and cold gaze befell the stranger from the heron’s narrowed golden gaze. Lysander sat up cradling his head. His gaze fell upon … perhaps the strangest avian he’d seen. Disparate wing colors weren’t unusual among Shaliz’na, and he was aware that there were many different avian species to come across. A bemused expression crossed his face when he noticed that the being in front of him only had one wing, and a badly mangled one at that. Oh “Who and what are you.” He asked in a calm tone, as guarded as the heron daemon. “And can you tell me - in basic - where I am?” [Read more] |

When faced with the threat of the vervain flower, Cado didn't so much as blink before dismissing it entirely, as if he'd had a long time to think over the answer. But, Cado had a point. Even navigating the forest was a nightmare, especially without a flashlight. But what was the alternative? Letting Cado come in and touch him whenever he wanted? One glance at the lazy, cold smile of his captor, the dead eyes, was enough to convince him otherwise. Lys was already growling, "Do you honestly think that I will beg for you? I can assure you, that won't happen. And even if I did die from a hunter, then it would be better than staying here and ... oh, I don't know, catering to you. I'm not a mere slave." The avian ripped his hand free, "You don't get to come in here and put your hands on me whenever you please." At least Cado wouldn't actually expect Lysander to start looking [Read more] |

Up close, Cado looked nothing short of unnatural, black hair falling on pale skin and fangs flashing like blades in the half light when the vampire spoke. His eyes had lost their human light, the blue cold and flat like the eyes of a corpse. Like a flame on a winter night, mania danced within Cado's dead eyes, a frenzied mad light. Lysander's neck tingled from the earlier bite, and he reached up to cup his neck protectively. There was one last thing he could try, a stray rumor among the Grysk prisoners. A plant, naturally sprouting near his own home in the woodland, a forest plant. "I don't need to. I know a plant that can sicken a vampire. I've seen it myself. I can find it within five weeks." He wasn't sure Cado's idea of an alternative would be pleasant for him. [Read more] |

Title: everyone was asleep (except for me)Vanessa Rainn Delacourt ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 27 - female - chosen of mespirit - daughter of pathos "I am -wooooahhh!!" A shrill cry that could've scattered Starley in earshot from their roosts in the bright Sinnoh sky echoed from a woman's perch on the roof of a house. The unfortunate daughter of pathos took a wary step backwards, not at all pleased with her location and manner of waking. Lowering herself on legs already wobbly from vertigo and dizziness, she examined the two story gap that separated the deep grey shingling platform she was on from solid ground. Judging by the downward slope of the surface and the sharp peaks rising nearby, Vanessa inferred she was on the roof of a house in a pseudo-suburban residential area. Had this been an occasion other than a post-apocalyptic-surreal-dream-vision scramble, she might have been amused. How fitting that the Lady of Emotion's sense of humor was so well-developed in her dealings with mortals. First things first, however, the ravenette trainer had to figure out how to safely traverse the sizable vertical gap before her, taking the design of the house into account. On both sides, the roof dropped off into a steep downwards slope. However, she could see a secondary roof platform to her left, which likely offered better prospects of a safe landing. Vanessa's mouth went dry as she stared off the edge. At best, she would land directly on the roof and potentially slide off the shingling. At worst, she would overshoot, and likely break a leg or arm on the ground. Either way, she wouldn't be stuck on the roof. Tension coiled in her stomach as she inched closer to the ledge. This could either go really really well, or really really poorly. It would be so silly for a god to revive a girl only to witness her demise trying to get down from the roof of a house. There was no time to worry about the dust that accumulated on the jacket someone had tied on her waist. Inch by inch, she brought herself to the very edge before bunching up into a crouch and allowing herself to simply fall. There was a brief flash of pain as her calves scraped against the roof. What she had imagined to be a hard thump flashed through her as she touched down lightly onto the shingling. Huh, okay it wasn't...as long of a fall as she imagined it to be. Feeling somewhat bemused, Vanessa took a few cautious steps forward to examine the drop in front of her. Well, if it was only one to go. This time, when she landed, the impact was much harder and she wound up tumbling roughly onto the ground below her. Sore all over now and feeling a little embarrassed about her general ungraceful landing, she took the time to dust herself off. What a sore blow this would deal to her image, despite it not being her priority. As she got up, however, her eyes were fixated on the mossy-hued carpet of dead grass. Clearly, not even the plants or vegetation had been spared the devastation. Eerie silence hovered in the air as she processed the true extent of the damage. Suburban surroundings with locked doors and tinted windows became houses with no one to go back to them. Houses grew into avenues and neighborhoods, silenced forever. As if on cue, however, Vanessa felt something bump up against her foot. A startled look downwards revealed that she'd stepped into her pokeballs. Stunned, she watched as the balls began to wobble back and forth, the white button on the front flashing red. In unison, the pokeballs burst open like eggs, releasing a massive wave of bright blue and white light. Vanessa was bowled backwards as all of her pokemon tackled her in a loud dog pile, crying out happily. Amarantha, Chelidon, Polonaise, Nymph, Nogitsune, and Athena. They were okay. They were alive. And for a moment, sprawled out on the ground with all of her pokemon with her, she was content to forget about the ending of the world, if only for a moment. [Read more] |

What the kriff is wrong with you?! "Back up! Or better yet, get out of my room!" Lysander snapped, furious he couldn't even get an ounce of space in his room. Black pupils dashed into angry slits before his hand struck out forcefully, catching Cado's cheek. Blood dripped like scarlet rubies, and the avian watched this with cold interest. Feeling suddenly forceful with Cado in a vulnerable prostrate position, the avian raised his hand to strike again with equal harshness. "Or you could stay there, and let me hit you again." The avian did indeed have an inkling that Cado was doing this for pleasure's sake, but either he wasn't taking the avian seriously, or he simply enjoyed being beaten. He took pleasure from pain, both pain inflicted on him and inflicted on others. The very thought made his mind recoil. It was a twisted way to live. [Read more] |

Honestly, the more time that Cado left him alone, the better. The way the older vampire had been treating him thus far was ... disturbing to say the least, especially concerning the abundant physical contact that had been involved. What Cado wanted him for... he didn't know, and really didn't want to consider. Once out of earshot, Calin piped up tentatively but did not bother to raise his eyes. Hard to believe these two are related. The avian scoffed irritably at the question. How did he meet Cado? The avian thought over his answer before deciding on a more cold response. "I met him after he decided he wanted a new companion." He swallowed hard to rinse his mouth of the bitter taste that followed his words. Companion. That was putting this whole situation lightly. Cado had been nothing but crazed and disturbing recently. Perhaps, he thought that he could take whatever he wanted, with the avian having nowhere to go. Another twist of hunger made him wince, and he bit his cheek to keep it from becoming obvious. "I'm not elaborating." He growled irritably, hunger making him cranky. His quarters were...fairly minimalistic, just a bed, a desk and a chair. Everything looked fairly worn, as if no one had stayed here in a very long while. Shadows hung low on the walls, creating an eerie ambience. The room had a window from which the darkness of the forest peered through. Oh "Well, this is depressing." He observed sardonically with a sigh. Better than nothing. Reaching over to shut the door, he pointed outside. "Can I get some time alone now? I'm seriously done with both of you." [Read more] |

𝑉𝐸𝑅𝑆𝐴𝐶𝐸 𝑅𝐴𝐼𝑁𝑁 𝐷𝐸𝐿𝐴𝐶𝑂𝑈𝑅𝑇 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 27 - female - chosen of mespirit - daughter of pathos Vanessa stood and watched as the world ended. And then it started again. Breathe in, once, twice. This is happening, this is real. Am I dead? Am I real? Versace woke slowly, comfortable but confused. Counting the seconds between her supposed death and arrival, she gazed out into the bewildering dreamscape to which she had arrived in. Questions piled in her brain as she struggled to make sense of what was before her. The realm before her appeared corporeal, but hazy as though obscured by a curtain of beads. When a few blinks did not clear her vision, she finally got a handle on the situation. The answer was deceptively simple once her brain caught up to her mind. This is a dream. But one unlike one she'd had before. Most dreamscapes she had been in at least had a solid surface to stand on; Versace was fairly certain that if she took a single step forward, she'd plummet endlessly. If you could even die in a dream. "Is anybody waiting for me out there?" She called sweetly, venturing a few tentative steps forward. Curiosity replaced her earlier hesitation when the ground did not give way beneath her feet. Soon, Versace's hesitant walk became a confident saunter, fueled by an almost childlike curiosity to explore. Not even fully accustomed to the silence, a voice behind her made her jump. Gossamer-thin, dreamy yet calm. The child behind her spoke with wisdom far beyond her physical years. The ravenette blinked in bewilderment or perhaps confusion when the ethereal entity made themselves known. Golden eyes stared into her emerald ones. What Versace saw before her was no human nor a pokemon, but something in between. A girl not above the physical age of 10, her hair split into four sleek trails surrounding her head, and two silver ones that were longer than her entire body. The ravenette found herself admiring the baby-blue robes that clung to the faerie's petite body, a cotton-candy pink veil hiding her mouth and light-blue glasses. The image was a being caught between sanctification and a childlike innocence. Adorable. Only the ruby in her hair, too glossy and red to be of any mortal gem, gave her away as a deity. Somehow, Versace wondered if this was a last-minute choice of attire, (what right minded person goes out meeting someone in their pajamas, like come on), but she didn't remark on it. Against her better judgment, the ravenette smiled, a quip already on her lips. "You know what?" she hummed, "Quite the fashion choice." "Oh, for sure. But wh-" Versace didn't speak once, mind churning as she processed the words. The words themselves made sense. However, even the most logically worded information loses meaning in the delivery if spoken too fast. ”Now, I don’t mean to be rude." She said carefully, "But, can't you say it again, slower?" She could only wish for more context at this point. "If you needed help, then I suppose it's a yes." Provided it was worth it, of course. Versace did not believe in a quest without some gain at the end, something she could get out of it. Granted, life was its own reward at times. Versace didn't even manage to get another word in before the prismatic plane dissolved into mist and restful light. A sudden heaviness caught her eyelids, coaxing her into slumber. [Read more] |
