Location: Couriway Town - Western Outskirts
Warmth. It was the first thing Liam noticed as he started to come to. Immediately after, the sound of running water, a stream or...a waterfall? He couldn't be sure, as his hearing was somewhat distorted at the moment. Next came the feeling of soft fur under his fingers, and a gentle though familiar grumbling followed the flexing of his digits. Any attempts to sit up would be futile, of course, as the noise meant Abbie was sound asleep...and pinning him to the grass beneath him. <Well, guess I'm not going anywhere. Least I don't have to use the bathroom.> Slowly, Liam cracked an eye open as he turned his head, hoping to catch a glimpse of where he'd ended up this time.

Considering that he remembered meeting that unusual man, could still feel his grip, it was a sure sign he was far enough from his family to be safe. Which also meant he could relax and not have to worry about showing up at the house to keep up appearances before being dropped in the middle of whatever wilderness his parents decided was the most dangerous the next time. The second his gaze fell on the town to his East, and the waterfalls, though, he drew in a sharp breath. <...I am definitely not in Sinnoh anymore.> On the bright side, it also meant he'd never see those wretched people again. A thought occurred as he considered his options, and he did his best to shift the Absol without waking her so he could sit up. Whatever that flash he remembered had been...the chances were good it was from an explosion, and his mysterious benefactor had whisked him away while leaving his parents and siblings to their well-deserved fate.

It was enough to bring a smile to his face, albeit briefly, before he winced. He'd actually forgotten about being punched in the jaw, and it still hurt somewhat. Gingerly, Liam brought a hand up to massage what he assumed was going to be a very noticeable bruise, before sighing. At least he still had his jacket, which meant he could hide as much of the damage as the shadows allowed. No sense having anyone worry about his physical health when he couldn't trust other humans, right? For a moment, he reviewed his memories of every time another human had tried to "help"...or at least, he tried to, his eyebrows furrowing as he failed to recall anyone other than those who had genuinely caused him grievous harm. Frustrating though it was, the missing memories were likely also because of the man whose skin could pass for darkness itself. And if that were the case, it was possible that He wanted Liam to only remember the truly rotten people in a bad light.

<Guess I can live with that, though it's only an assumption.> Liam thought, pulling himself into an upright position so he could look around easier. Nearby, however, two pairs of footsteps caught his attention, and he turned just as Horace and Dee came into view, their arms filled with a varied assortment of berries. The Hypno and Indeedee had left him in the care of Abbie, though she had dozed when no threat had presented itself. Which meant...the area was safe enough for them to stay for a while.

Almost immediately after both Pokémon came back, however, Liam's body coursed with pain, and a flood of thoughts and memories hit him hard. Information about the state of the world, what was needed of him...so much, in fact, that it was a relief when he passed out again.

Location: Somewhere within Darkrai's Nightmare-scape.
Blink. Once. Twice. Thrice.
The blinding light slowly faded, Liam's arms lowering cautiously as his eyes began to adjust to the dimness of the strange, blurry room he found himself in. Once his vision had become accustomed, he looked around the dismal-looking area. The walls appeared grungy, rotten and decayed in places, and there were enough holes that it lent the room a far more horrifying quality than it normally would. Especially with the lighting being so dim, the flickering almost unnerving.

A man, incredibly dark of complexion and pale of hair, with an almost ethereal quality to him, sat on the lone chair in the room. His apparel looked out of place and time, a tattered, old black suit from at least a hundred years in the past, though nary a speck of dust could be seen upon him. An expression of pity crossed his face, before he checked an old pocket watch. "You're right on time, Wielder of Pokemon. I require your...services, and I'm afraid there isn't much you can say to..." He trailed off as Liam held up a hand, the expression on his pale face one of determination. "If it gets me away from my family, I'll do whatever you ask."

The man smiled then, eyes glancing over the thin boy of 19 before him, before rising to hold out a hand. "It has been some time since I've met one who was...amenable to what I wanted done." Liam was slow in his approach, wary of this strange, unearthly individual, but grasped the outstretched hand firmly in his own. Much, of course, to the delight of the stranger. "Oh, yes, you'll do nicely indeed. And you deserve my boon." There was a predatory smile upon the face of the ebony man, eyes aglow...and glowing brighter by the second. "I do apologize for what will happen now...but you'll understand. You...ar.........venge........"

Everything began to spin, the voice fading, the grip still firm...and Liam immediately blacked out.

Age: 19
Canon or OC: OC
Home Region: Sinnoh
Any Team Affiliations: N/A
Blessed Legendary:
Darkrai, the Pitch-Black Nightmare
Blessing Description:
Shadow and Darkness Manipulation - Liam is able to control the shadows around himself, as well as any type of darkness, though it comes at a cost...to his own eyes (and a very special few), his reflection is that of a terrifying, nightmarish monster, and he has horrific nightmares after the use of his powers.

Show hidden content

"Horace" | Hypno (Lv. 40) | Inner Focus | Male
Hypnosis | Dream Eater | Zen Headbutt | Psychic

"Dee" | Indeedee (Lv. 30) | Own Tempo |Female
Healing Wish | Psybeam | Stored Power | Calm Mind

"Abbie" | Absol (Lv. 50) | Justified | Female
Slash | Night Slash | Sucker Punch | Swords Dance

Appearance:
Liam is roughly 5'11", with shoulder length black hair, slate grey eyes, and pale skin. His general attire consists of large, dark colored jackets with hoods big enough to cast most of his face in shadow, black jeans and a thin t-shirt (color may vary depending on what he's able to find), heavy black boots, and gloves that completely cover his hands. His build is hard to tell as he does his best to keep anyone from getting a real good look at him, though he's considered to be thin as a rail.
Personality:
Quiet and reserved most of the time, Liam can be outspoken when treated poorly. He is generally kind towards children, as well as Pokemon he feels are misunderstood.
General Skillset:
Capable cook, wilderness survival, good with small kids and most Pokemon, some artistic ability (fairly accurate sketching).
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Not very strong physically, little to no tolerance for abuse, quick to anger when kids or certain Pokemon are mistreated.
Other Information:
Throughout much of his life, Liam was abused and treated very poorly by his family, as well as anyone they knew. This has lead to him having a great deal of distrust towards most people. Some of the abuse includes being left to die in dangerous locales, as well as multiple attempts by his family to "dispose" of him themselves through various convoluted means. He won't talk about what he does remember of his past, though as a mercy, Darkrai took the majority of his memories of life before the end of the world. As to his Pokemon, Horace has been with him since the first attempt his parents made to abandon him, and helps manage the nightmares he has through means of consuming them...where Abbie has been with Liam since his family's first attempt to harm him physically. Dee, on the other hand, has been with him since the third time he was abandoned. Thanks to these three, he has always managed to find his way home again, which only served to enrage and incense his family further.

Silence weighed heavily as Edmund held his breath, eyes squeezed shut as tight as possible before Gothitelle gently nudged him. "We're fine, Ed. You got us out." Her voice was barely a whisper, as though she were afraid there might be something in the clearing they'd teleported to. Truthfully, it was just about empty, with a tree in the center which was surrounded on all side by tall, dense shrubbery. Opening his eyes, Edmund let his breath out slowly, glancing at the shrubbery surrounding them and the tree. It was a lucky break they'd ended up hidden inside. Especially with the fact that night now appeared to be approaching rather rapidly.

And with the night, he knew, there were far greater dangers than those monsters that had destroyed their newest home. There were horrifying creatures that roamed the land at night, made of rotting flesh and resembling Pokémon known as Gastly and Haunter. But that's where the resemblance ended. These were solid beings, incapable of passing through objects...and incapable of going near water, no matter how fresh. As far as Edmund knew, they were zombies. He'd had the opportunity to study one of their corpses up close, once...an action he'd regretted moments later when the smell hit him and turned his stomach.

Inhaling deeply, he let out a shuddering breath and moved to sit at the base of the tree, before noticing a small collection of items. A couple potions, a box of gauze, and a small collection of assorted berries used for healing were what he found, which gave him a bit of relief. He hadn't noticed the ache from getting hurt by that unusual Bagon, though now that the adrenaline was gone he could feel a bruise beginning to form near his lower right ribs. <...Well, that's gonna be tender if I don't take care of it now.> He muttered, as Gothitelle came over to lift his shirt and inspect the injury. She took one of the Potions and sprayed the already purpling mark, before taking some of the gauze so she could begin to carefully wipe at the other wounds she could see on his arms and hands.

Injuries were nothing new to either of them, though they both knew it was better to treat them immediately rather than waiting. With a small sigh, Edmund sat at the base of the tree, and leaned back with a slight wince. Definitely going to be tender. He thought with a grimace, and Gothitelle laughed softly. It was something of a joke between the two that they could read one another's thoughts, whenever they were a little too quiet around anyone else, but the reality was exactly that. They had spent quite a bit of time getting the hang of hearing thoughts from each other to prevent discovery while out at night.

Once her ministrations were finished, Gothitelle carefully joined Edmund against the tree, and the two leaned towards the other before closing their eyes. It was going to be a long night, and it was better that they kept as quiet as possible. There simply wasn't a point to going anywhere at night. They'd both heard the stories about those grotesque zombies, how they would rush anyone foolish enough to travel in the dark without protection. And how nobody survived those encounters. All that would be left were shredded, hollowed-out corpses whose faces were frozen in terror. Let's just hope we're safe here, Mother. Gothitelle could only agree with the sentiment, and the two drifted off into an uneasy slumber as the sun began to sink past the horizon.

The first thing Edmund noticed upon waking up (from what he hoped had been a short nap) was the sound of screaming. After which he noticed the smell of smoke, and the sounds of fighting followed. Then...silence. It was so silent it practically weighed down on him. Quick as he could, Edmund grabbed his things, throwing on his clothes and moving to wake Gothitelle. <Mother, we need to leave. We need to leave NOW.> He kept his voice as low as possible, shaking her awake before moving to cautiously look out a window. An action he regretted almost immediately, as outside was pure carnage.

The entirety of Vaniville had been torn apart save for his and Gothitelle’s home, and the mangled and shredded bodies of both people and Pokémon littered the ground everywhere he looked. Blood soaked the earth, even splattered across the fresh rubble, and from what he could see...the humans hadn’t been able to defend themselves at all. It seemed almost like what happened took them by surprise. What set him on edge, though, were the twisted, hate-filled faces of the Rampaging Pokémon outside, so close he could see everything wrong with them. And with the angle of the sun, it was impossible to miss a single detail. Their bodies contorted, their forms...practically feral. The closest of them somewhat resembled a Luxray, only...there was a lot wrong with it. The body was practically emaciated, the mane tangled and ratty...the eyes filled with hatred and bloodlust. These creatures weren’t quite among the species he knew. In fact, they almost looked like...like they were what came before. The predecessors of modern Pokémon. But that was crazy, right?

As he tried to quietly move away from the window, Edmund stumbled backwards over one of the pots he’d meant to put away the day before, causing it to clatter across the floor and smash into several other pots nearby. <Shoot! I hope they didn’t-> Almost immediately after, the guttural growls and snarls started making their way towards his and Gothitelle’s home. This was their cue to get out immediately. Quick as he could, Edmund scooped their meagre belongings into his bag, grabbed Gothitelle’s hand, and started to use Teleport...only to be slammed to the floor by what he thought was a Bagon. It was hard to tell, and it knocked the breath out of Edmund.

When Edmund managed to scramble away, he could see that the door lay in splinters, and the wall was now partially smashed, revealing a small group of the twisted abominations that the Survivors had come to know as Rampaging Pokémon. By his count, there were about seven in total, all varying species, and the one calling the shots seemed to be the Luxray he’d seen before. It snarled something he couldn’t quite make out, but the tone implied it wasn’t going to be anything nice. Thinking fast, Edmund quickly used Psychic to throw the nearest Rampaging Pokémon at the rest, before grabbing Gothitelle's hand as he leapt to his feet, dragging her through the hole in the wall.

They both managed to put a few hundred feet between them and the abominations, before Edmund quickly turned and cast Psyshock behind them, breathing heavily. He’d cast the Move just in time, as the Luxray had gained ground rapidly and was nearly upon them. With it stunned and knocked off its feet temporarily, Edmund had enough time to cast Teleport while grabbing Gothitelle’s hand again, squeezing his eyes shut as he focused on his destination: a small clearing just south of Aquacorde. He could only hope there was nothing else in that clearing when they got there.

Title: Starting Out

To start with, we'll be doing a post a day, at the very least, until we've all established a good rhythm for this. I'd like for everyone to feel relaxed with this, though it'll get hectic later on. So for now...we take a week to really establish our characters and work on getting them all to meet up.

Death. It's inevitable, really. All things die, so others might live. This was a lesson Gothitelle had tried to teach Edmund when he was very young, so that he would not feel badly when they had to hunt for food. This had been a constant while they traveled, as they had left their cave outside of Pallet Town far behind. And so they traveled as Ed grew, taking unusual routes to reach their new home: One of the few remaining houses that were still intact in the ruins of Vaniville Town, located in Kalos. During the journey, Edmund had noticed odd voids in the landscape here and there, as if something had simply...scooped it away. Gothitelle, on the other hand, avoided any questions about this mystery, as if she either couldn't see it...or was willingly ignoring it.

Their reason for leaving Kanto was fairly simple, though: The Rampaging Pokémon had completely overrun the Region, tearing apart whatever they could. Fearing for the safety of Edmund, Gothitelle had suggested they leave their small cave just west of the ruins of Pallet Town, to try and find somewhere, anywhere, that was safe enough to simply...live in. So their journey took them through many different Regions...and in each of them, Edmund noticed things were only getting worse and worse. More damage, more missing chunks of land. All of it far too cleanly cut to be natural. So clean, in fact, that it made his head hurt looking at it for longer than a few moments. Whereas Gothitelle simply...seemed to ignore it all. Did she want him to stop asking about it? Or...was she trying to protect him from something? The only way to answer those questions would be to ask her...and she'd refused to give him anything, choosing to change the subject instead. This was rather frustrating for Ed, but...he decided it would probably be better to leave those questions alone, and instead focused his energies on their survival. This journey eventually led them towards Kalos...and most of the Routes were in shambles, completely void of people and Pokémon alike.

The two, though, had eventually found a small community of Survivors in Vaniville, and decided to settle in one of the still-standing but otherwise empty houses. The Survivors themselves were a small, ragtag group of around ten Humans, who didn't seem to mind the unusual appearance of Ed and Gothitelle, much to their relief. It seemed these people were simply happy to have a few more hands around to help out with growing crops and harvesting berries. Cultivating the land was hard for ordinary folk, after all, so Gothitelle and Edmund were more than happy to help...though Edmund kept his distance from the majority of the Humans.

Today, like any other day, Edmund and Gothitelle were outside, gathering food. Gothitelle handled berry collection, while Edmund collected the rest of the ingredients for their morning meal: Rice, assorted grains, and smaller Pokémon that were often used as food. The catch consisted of a Pidgey and a couple Magikarp, which meant both of them would be eating pretty well this morning. It also meant the few other survivors living in the ruins would be able to find plenty of food as well, as the crop yield this month had been rather exceptional. Yet...something seemed a little off today, as Ed glanced around. There weren't as many Pokémon in the area...and in the distance, he could see something that worried him: A large chunk of the mountains were missing.

Internally, he sighed, refusing to bring it up with Gothitelle again. She simply...didn't want to acknowledge that their world was vanishing. Better to keep it to himself, then. At least they'd managed to work out a system of communication between him and the Humans, so they could trade supplies. Sighing aloud this time, Ed hefted his own scavenged bag, and began to make his way towards town, hoping to get a few things for the morning's Figy and Pidgey Curry.

His plans, of course...were simply to just get through the day. And today seemed to be going just like every other for the past three months.

Title: We've Reached the Cut-Off Point!

For those working on characters, and who already have them: Don't worry, this only applies to new applicants. While we didn't quite hit 8 players, we certainly have enough people who want to participate in order to make this fun!

For those of you who wanted to join (but didn't reserve a spot)... I'm afraid we've reached the point where I won't be accepting new players for this, so as to avoid confusion moving forward with the narrative and overall story arch.

With that being said: Today is about the Introductions for each of our characters into the world I'm planning to unveil around you. Some of you will likely end up in different Regions, and different ruined towns or cities entirely. Today's goal is strictly to specify where our characters are when we start, what they see...and just how much they really know about the state of the world at present. Keep in mind the last one ONLY applies to your characters. If you have knowledge about the state of the world that they wouldn't, please, wait until the actual info is revealed to everyone else.

As River Song would say, "Spoilers!"

**Note: I will have those in the Discord roll a Perception Check for what they see, and I've already assigned one of the other Players to handle the rolls for -andrea- since she doesn't use Discord herself.

Stab-solutely! **Insert rimshot here, with cheesy 80's sitcom laugh-track.**

As of now, we have four confirmed reservations for character slots. So we will determine who all ends up with a Murder Hobo or whatnot once I know for sure who is playing what. (Relm for sure is one of the five.)

Over The Course of Time is an RP about a villain and the descendants of the heroes from his original time period.

The "villain", an Oni, has spent the past 200 years buried beneath the ruins of his home, and only recently were his skeletal remains dug up and brought to a museum for study...and possibly to be put on display as a part of the world's history. By now, the "heroes" are all long dead...you'll either be playing as their descendants, or one of the many individuals throughout the world.

All fantasy races are included, of course!

But to make it clear...the "heroes" are really just a group of five murder hobos. Yes. You read that right. Murder. Hobos. So you'll be making five "throw-away" characters with dubious backgrounds and very little experience with the world outside of murder.

The reason for those characters is that our story will start back while our MV was alive (so only five throw-away characters are needed), and those roles go to the first five people who join. Those five will also be allowed to choose whether they play as a descendant of one of the "heroes" or as a different race entirely. (If you choose to be something else entirely, then someone else can choose to be one of the descendants instead.) Because I'm also running another RP, there will be a ten player limit for this one at the start.

Title: Update

As of now, three of the five Events that are currently planned have the basic framework. I still need to figure out the amounts of materials for each Event, as well as what the dice roll will need to be to get what you need.

For now, because I still have a good deal of work to do, I'm planning to wait at least 3 days before I get this RP started.

Don't worry: Just because the RP will have started by then, it doesn't mean you can't join us. You'll just have to fill out a character sheet and wait a single RP day to officially join.

Title: The Event System

Now, on to Events. Events are a special system I'll be introducing into this RP, whose purpose is to give everyone a chance at obtaining items and materials necessary for daily survival. The materials will be used for creating Special Items that take the place of Pokémon Moves, as well as for making items that will provide food or a temporary safe zone.

The first, second, and third Events have already been decided, and there will be a total of nine Events for the first half of the RP. Further Events have not been decided upon as of yet, as this should be lasting us at least three to four months. To space things out, and give everyone a chance to relax between events, the first Event will occur after a certain post milestone has been met (TBA). Each following Event will be an increased post milestone after that point.

(EDIT!) While I'd like this to move along at a faster pace, there will be a single-post minimum per day, of at least one paragraph each post...and a maximum of fifteen posts per person during that day. The way this is going to work is that, after a certain number of posts per person, I'll work out a time to start each of the Events, and I'll be letting you all know once I've figured everything out. (This WILL take time, folks. So please...just bear with me here.)

Event 1: Characters will have the chance to obtain special materials that allow them build Portable Food-Growth Capsules, and the blueprints will be found in a nearby ruined building. These capsules, while not strictly necessary, make obtaining food much easier for you as you can grow your own berries while on the move. The growth rate is a great deal faster than simply growing them in the wild, and the capsules only require a 2-hour recharge period. The amount of berries it can provide is determined by the quality of your capsule.

The list of qualities for the capsules are as follows:
Sub-Par - This capsule is made from the bare-minimum of materials, which weren't exactly great to begin with. At most, you'll only get a single berry from this capsule, and it has a tendency to break while requiring almost constant maintenance.
Decent - This capsule is made of slightly better materials, but barely above the bare minimum required to make it. You'll get between one and two berries from this, and it will still require a lot of maintenance.
Great - This capsule, while not made with the best materials, is made with ten fewer parts than the maximum. You'll get between two and three berries from this capsule, and it won't require too much maintenance.
Perfect - This capsule is absolutely perfect, made with the best materials found during the Event. You will get four berries guaranteed, and this capsule requires the least amount of maintenance.

For Event 1, the Dice Rolls for each of the loot qualities/amounts of materials are as follows:
Sub-Par - From a 1d20 roll, 1-5. You get the bare minimum of materials, all of the lowest grade.
Decent - From a 1d20 roll, 6-10. You get just enough materials to make a slightly better model, but still of the lowest grade.
Great - From a 1d20 roll, 11-15. You get materials of near-perfect quality, enough to make the second-best model.
Perfect - From a 1d20 roll, 16-20. The materials are pristine, and you obtain the maximum required to make the best model of the Capsule.

Material amounts for each:
Sub-Par - Requires ten components, absolutely basic model.
Decent - Requires twenty components. Double the amount required for the Sub-Par.
Great - Requires thirty-five components.
Perfect - Requires no less than fifty components.

To note: Just because you have them, doesn't mean you can't accidentally drop them, since you may not have the ability to hold it all. It is suggested you find a way to transport the larger quantities of components without leaving any behind, or they will "disappear". (A Pokémon that loves shiny things will steal them if you don't take everything at the same time!)

Event 1 Notes: Sub-Event 1 will take place immediately after the last person has "found" their components. 1d6 will be rolled to determine who obtains a Mystery Item*, which appears to be a small set of (presently) unreadable pages. A feeling that these pages are important will come over your character.

Event 2: Characters have the chance to obtain special materials for creating Temporary Safe Zones, which last for 6 hours and require two hours to recharge. These items can only be built by scientists in one of the still-functional laboratories around the world. As such, they will not require much maintenance at all, though instructions will be given to your character on how to properly maintain the device.

Materials will consist of a variety of machine parts that your characters will find around the area, though you will need to roll to see if the machines being searched actually have useable parts or not. You will also need a single power source for the device, and this will not be an easy thing to obtain. It will require 4d20 rolls, and they will each need to be higher than twelve. If you fail to get a power source from the machine being searched, you must move on and find a new machine to pull apart.

There will be a total of fifty-six machines to scrap for parts, including power sources, as you will be inside of one of the few abandoned laboratories that actually have functioning machinery in them. This will give each of you eight machines in total to attempt to get power sources from.

Your characters will also find a list has suddenly appeared in front of them, detailing what parts of these machines they’re trying to collect. (Sorry, no detailed list.) You will need to roll 2d20 per machine in order to search for the parts on the list (power source not included, as that is a separate roll count), and if you don’t get all the parts right away, don’t worry: You’ll still have seven more attempts to get them all. You need a total of ten parts.

To clarify:
Power Source – 4d20, each needs to be above twelve. A Nat 20 on ANY of those four guarantees the part.
Other parts – 2d20 per machine, your roll needs to be above eight for each die. Fifteen or better guarantees most of the parts, two fifteens is a guarantee you get all the parts from a single machine.

[j]Event 3:[/i] Characters have a chance to find Pokémon that are willing to provide wool and other materials for making special clothing and backpacks. This event will also be the first time you will have an unavoidable encounter with a small group of Rampaging Pokémon, so what you choose to do matters. Will you attempt to sacrifice the friendly Pokémon so you can escape, or will you stay and fight so that these Pokémon can later be found around one of the nearby Laboratories?

Note that these backpacks and clothes are a significant upgrade to what you currently have available, and can only be obtained by bringing the acquired materials to the Laboratory you will later find these Pokémon outside of.

These Pokémon are varied, and provide silk as well as wool, among other very necessary materials. Materials that will go a long way towards upgrading your current gear.

There will be no rolling for material collection during this Event, as you will instead be rolling to successfully protect these Pokémon. Some of you may have an easier time, others may find it a bit difficult. The end-goal for all of you is the same, however: Protect these Pokémon as best you can.

[/u]The Pokémon you’ll be protecting are as follows:[/u]
Dubwool and three Wooloo – main providers of wool.
Two Ariados (one injured), a Wurmple and a Silcoon – Provides Silk Threads.
Two Jangmo-o and a Kommo-o – Provides Scales.
Five Duraludon – Provides sturdier metals.

If the group is successfully able to protect all of the Pokémon on this list (as well as helping the injured Ariados), the Pokémon will show their gratitude by freely supplying the materials needed for making better clothing and bags, and possibly other protective gear as well.

*The Mystery Item will be found near the player whose number appears once I have rolled the 1d6.

(This list will be updated as more Events are decided upon.)

I've had a few good questions asked so far, so here's some further information regarding what the movesets are like, and whether Near-Humans are capable of using moves:

Pokémon and Hybrids have a moveset limit of six moves as opposed to the standard four.

Near-Humans are able to use moves, but rather than having a PP limit, they have a Stamina Limit of 300 at the start. Moves will take a chunk of Stamina instead of PP to use in regards to how the system functions for Near-Humans. If you run out of Stamina, you pass out for the day, regardless of your location.

The amount of stamina used for moves will be determined at a later time, so for now, the system will be unused until the first in-RP Event.

Ooooh, there's a neat idea! Go ahead and type up a character sheet for me! I'd like to see what you come up with. :)

I'm honestly glad you asked!

The Hybrids mostly consist of final evolutions (with some exceptions, like Castform), whose forms are an almost seamless blend of human and Pokémon...and Near-Humans, whose origins were human, but they have some visual Pokémon traits that appear (prime example being the ears, teeth, claws, etc.). The reasoning was to make it easier for them to translate for their fully human and fully Pokémon counterparts, though it also made some of them rather creepy-looking.

As to the wild Pokémon attacks/encounters: It's a small percentage for a Rampaging Pokémon to appear each day, mostly a large percentage for a wild encounter in grassy or heavily-wooded areas. Basically, as long as you're inside a building that's considered a Safe Zone (think of the small area in Lavender Town's Pokémon Tower, only it's a full building), you're essentially safe from encountering a Rampaging Pokémon. Their numbers have decreased over the years, so it'll be about a 5% chance one will pop up.

And to answer the last part, regarding translation technology: It does exist, but they're incredibly rare, and can only be manufactured inside one of the remaining (and still functioning) laboratories. They'd essentially require you to collect necessary materials and components to make the device, which has taken the place of the PokéDex. The data was saved by the laboratories and is incorporated into these devices, so you're able to know whether the Pokémon you encounter is aggressive or a potential friend.

(Basically, as the story progresses, I'll be switching between posting for my characters and posting the encounters/whether or not there's a Rampage happening, and how high a percentage encounter it'll get to depending on the location. I'll have to mainly work on the other factors as well, though everyone is free to pitch in and help with all of that here.)

Title: A bit about the general rules/guidelines for the RP

As one of the three types of Survivor within this devastated, post-apocalyptic world, you are tasked mainly with survival. There will be times when you will be attacked by enraged, rampaging Pokémon, so it is up to you whether to try one of four options: Kill them, run from them, hide from them, or try to placate them. Placating them may not always work, and you have a limited number of attempts each story day.

You will also have opportunities to befriend other Survivors, be they human, Pokémon, or hybrid.

Try to give details regarding your character's (or characters', if you have multiples) location and what they see.

Remember to try to give your fellow role players enough time to react to what you're doing, and do try not to force them into something they may not be comfortable with.

As a general rule, your posts should be at LEAST a paragraph (consisting of four to five sentences, though you can write more if you'd like).

(Rules will be updated only as necessary. Further rules can be voted on by the group, though I'd like to keep this light and fairly simple for everyone.)

Now, due to how long it has been, and the fact I'm mostly just getting ideas out where I can see and organize them, it may take a little time for the RP to actually begin, and I do apologize for that. I just want to set the scene as best I can, to inspire people to really get into character and help create something that will hopefully be incredible.

Please, bear with me while I work out the kinks with the story, but I hope you'll enjoy the process all the same.

I'm also open to input regarding the story in general (which is really the introduction leading up to the RP itself). Everyone who wants to be part of this is free to pitch ideas, and a vote will be used to either veto or approve them for use in the intro.
