Do I really need to get a Pokéradar to hatch/find shinys?

Is is very possible that I´m the user with the most hatched Poochyenas, or atleast the 2nd or 3th.

I was playing "Flip The Coin", and suddenly a little kid, holding one of a Drifloon´s "hands" popped up on my screen.

This is getting more and more creepy....

I wanted to look at the full Gem Exchange list, and suddenly the word "ESCAPE" showed up everywhere on my screen.

What is going on?

I´ll maybe hunt a shiny Absol if I get a Pokéradar and a Ditto.
