Paldea is in a crisis

After our reigning Top Champion Juliana confronted Professors Sada and Turo within the depths of Area Zero and shut down the time machine, the threat posed by the Paradox Pokemon appeared to cease. Juliana later returned to Area Zero and freed the legendary Terapagos, the apparent source of Terastal Energy, from its depths. With Terapagos removed, it seemed likely that Area Zero would lose its excess Terastal energy.

Terapagos may be the source of Terastal energy, but this means it is also the sole being capable of controlling it. With it removed from the Underdepths, the Terastal energy began to surge from deep within the Great Crater of Area Zero. The ambient Terastal energy was enough to restart the Time Machine of the Professors, allowing new Paradox Pokemon to flood the Crater. Eventually, the Paradox Pokemon and the Terastal Energy itself was too much for the walls of the Crater to contain and they began to crack.

From these cracks, Terastal energy and Paradox Pokemon began to flood out, wreaking havoc upon Paldea. The aggressive Paradox Pokemon quickly overpowered the local Pokemon of Paldea. The Terastal Energy stimulated the growth of Herba Mystica and the elusive Titan Pokemon returned in greater numbers. The mounting levels of Terastal Energy have began to affect even humans, granting some extraordinary powers and others eternal torment. In response to this crisis, Top Champion Juliana and the Elite Four entered into Area Zero, only to vanish within its fog, never to return.

The Great City of Mesagoza, once the crown jewel of Paldea, is now one of the last bastions of humans and Pokemon alike. Outside of these bastions, Paradox Pokemon and those corrupted by Terastal energy reign dominant. However, resources are beginning to run low, and Mesagoza is preparing for one last desperate stand. A group of its most skilled trainers are being gathered in what was once the great Academy, preparing to embark on a perilous quest outside of the walls of the city and towards the foggy depths of Area Zero to perhaps restore order to this chaotic land.

Appearance (Can be a physical description or drawing): Ren is about 5' 5". He commonly wears some kind of hoodie, jeans, and black and white tennis shoes. His hair goes past his shoulders, but he commonly wears it in a ponytail. He had brown hair, with purple highlights.

Personality: Ren is standoffish, not talking much. He only talks when spoken too, and keeps his responses short. He's a skilled battler, and pretty smart. And don't think being his friend will change that, it doesn't.

Character Stengths: His silence is very useful, as he commonly scouts out places and his good battling skills allow him too take down even the strongest of opponents.

Character Weaknesses: No matter how good his silence sounds, it's also very bad. He never forms bonds, and can't be bothered to talk or help people often. He also is blind in his right eye.

Backstory [Optional]: Ren was near the crater when a crack broke open, and he was struck by energy, blinding his right eye and giving him his powers. He barely managed to escape before paradox pokemon came out of it too, and ran for Mesagoza. He's been living there ever since.
