I've been looking forward to repaiing the gem cauldron although I don't know what it does. Can someone please tell me to see if itsworth it?

It is definitely worth it! You can make evolutionary stones and once you make enough you can make your own mega stones! Which can save you a ton of PD if you have the gems, press the link in my signature to look at all you can make in the pot.
