I understand that spriter applications are open, I think something that would be helpful would be knowing the expected workload for spriters (or frankly, for any staff position that happens to be open)

For instance, how many sprites/how many event lines is each spriter expected to make per month/year?

Other commitments such as meetings with the staff team, non-pokemon sprites (e.g. Item sprites, staff banners?)

There isn't really an "expected workload".
We have about 5-7 event lines per year, and have 4 spriters. So you can do the math...
Communication is also rather informal and ad hoc.

I appreciate the response, but realistically, I do not know if some spriters are on break, for instance, and the workload distribution might be different. Hence 'you can do the math' does not exactly correspond.

And since the spriter application position is still open, the actual workload might be lower if more spriters join the team. Or the team might want to work on new stuff (e.g. updating minisprites for existing events that don't have one) if there's more spriters on board

I'm not a spriter so I can't answer as for the actual work load, but I do know that the spriter applications are (technically) never closed, because if you get more spriters, you can work out more events.

I'll poke Furret about it, maybe she'll want to shine some spriter lights on it?

Edit - Did the poke; Furret didn't really have anything to add. They're all working on sprites at their own pace [sketching, planning, spriting,...], but there's no real pressure to get things done by x date.
