Author's Note
I've had an AU
for Pokémon forever now, lol. So warning, this is just MY au
(alternate universe). None of this is canon. This is just how I
like it. Dark and sad. You MAY post, please make it related. I am
bringing a passion, an AU I've had since forever, to light. To
answer a question you all may be having, the AU was once inhabited
of the same Pokémon 2 or more times. To keep things simple, there's
only 1 of each Pokémon. So with that, please enjoy.
*Warning: Mentions Of Death
It was a fine day for the Pokémon. Pidgeys were chirping. Lechonks were waddling across the empty fields that washed over Fanheirs. The water types were at the beach, splashing in the waves that hit shore, wrecking Sandygast and Palossand down. The ground types were digging, hiding in their secret chamber. Electric types were fighting over who has the power to summon thunderstorms. Grass types were sitting with nature, looking at the delicate skies. The perfect cotton clouds and the glistening of the sun that hit them just perfectly to shine. Fire types, blazing down the already dried out fields. The flying types, soaring through the skies, putting on a show for the grass types so they don't get bored. Rock types, rolling down mountains and blending in with the scenery. The ghost types, brewing up plans deep down in the darkest part of the forest. The ice types, sitting in the coldness of the glaciers. Psychic types, testing out their psychic powers on mannequins. Bug types, scattering across the fields going up in a fiery storm. Dark types, longing to attack the ghost types. The dragon types, showing ghost types how to utilize resources. Fairy types, chilling in a chopped down forest, singing loud. Fighting types, punching mannequins to get stronger. Poison types, also training by biting and puncturing mannequins. Steel types, lifting weights, and the Normal types, doing... whatever. The legendaries and mythicals were sitting high up in the sky, in a secret cloudy building, in the cloud. They had more power than all of them... fools. Arceus, keeping everyone together, the god of every single Pokémon to exist.
A Vaporeon, splashing in the waves and hanging out with a Relicanth, caught a glimpse of a rag moving. "What?" The Vaporeon thought, shooting her head that way. The moving rag was gone by the time she snapped her head over in the direction, though. Into the dark forest, where the Ghost Types lurk. Vaporeon approached the forest, but got stopped by a Staryu, which it squeaked out, "Don't you know how dangerous those forests are?" The Vaporeon hesitated to answer. Yes, she did understand it was dangerous and could lose her life, but she also wanted to warn the poor rag. She shook her head and answered, "Well, yes... But I saw a rag enter those forests! I need to warn the thing before it's too late!" The Staryu replied, "See? Let the thing die, it's only going to kill off one thing, not 2! Plus, it was probably just a hallucination!" The Vaporeon didn't doubt that at all. She nodded her head, and walked back to the beach. "Maybe it was just another hallucination of mine..."
That rag scurried through the forest, dodging tree after tree. Eventually, the rag sat down on a log to relax. Then, a Dusknoir came to the rag, scaring the daylights out of it. The rag shook a little, and ran to hide behind a tree. The Dusknoir, confused, greeted it, "Hello! We ghost types aren't as scary as everyone makes us out to be!" The rag shook before responding, "Yeah. I know, but..." "But?" "But..." The rag whimpered. It came out a little, peaking out at the Dusknoir. "Is there any fires nearby?..." The Dusknoir told it, "No, but we're about to start one. It's hard to see over here, and we don't wanna alert the Dark types." The rag instantly hid behind the tree again. "Huh. That's weird. Wonder why the rag doesn't like fire..." Dusknoir thought to himself. "What's your species name?" "Oh... I'm a... Mimikyu..." "A Mimikyu, huh. You seem like a rag." "Yeah, it's how I hide my b-" Mimikyu shuts up. She said a little too much. "Nevermind." The Dusknoir is left confused.
Vaporeon recalls a time in her mind when she found a rag sitting out in the rain. She took it to a Pokémon Center to heal and left. But that was years ago. Back when there was multiple of Pokémon. It couldn't have been the same one. No. It just couldn't be. It was years ago, no way could it be the same exact rag. Vaporeon blurs the thought though, and continued splashing with the Staryu.
Rumors were being spread around that Ghost Types feed off, not only the loneliness and stupidity of children for wandering off, but also anger, sadness, and betryal. The Mimikyu sighed. "I'll never be able to have a life like that again." The Mimikyu then slowly went back into the forest. "You okay Mimikyu?" The Dusknoir asked it when it came back. "...Yeah. Just seeing how life went without me." The Dusknoir is now very confused. Pikachu comes in. "Woah, what's all this LAME stuff?" The Ghost Types snapped their heads towards Pikachu. "I'll tell you what it is, none of your darn business!" Gastly spoke. Pikachu flinched a little. Such a popular Pokémon hasn't been scolded. "It actually is, because I'm the best Pokémon." "Great Gastly, he's got a high ego." Haunter murmured. Gastly nodded. "You have anything to prove that you're so popular and beloved?" Duskull asked. "I was and still am #1 Pokémon of the year up on the stage!"
Mimikyu was going insane, and instantly hid behind Dusknoir. Mimikyu not only seemed afraid of fire, but of Pikachu. "Just because you're the mascot doesn't give you any rights to go and be annoying to everyone else." Dusknoir said. "Yeah, and Gengar or Charizard could easily steal that spot in a snap." Gastly chimed in. "Oh no! I'm so scared!" Pikachu said sarcastically. But there was a hint of fear in that tone, and the Ghost Types spotted it. "Well, go carry your happy a- out of here, and we'll mind our own business like before." "Fine. Remember, I'm better than every single Pokémon." Pikachu, with a sass in his step, walked away.
Mimikyu was still trembling in fear even though Pikachu left already. It seems even the thought of Pikachu was enough to make Mimikyu cry. Pikachu came up to Charizard. "Oh, what do you want?" Charizard, annoyed, asked. "I wanna make a deal with you. You don't tell anybody about what happened years ago, I'll give you second for most popular Pokémon." "No deal. Firstly, it was years ago, why now? Secondly, that's scarring and wrong in every way. Lastly, I'm already second most popular Pokémon." Charizard walked away, mad. Pikachu shrugged it off and laughed to himself.
Pikachu walked up to the big stage. Red curtains Infront of a wooden wall. A big catwalk, with wooden stairs Infront of it. In the middle of the stage was a statue of Pikachu. Engraved at the bottom was "Pokémon of The Year ~ 2014 - 2024" Pikachu smirked at the statue. "Look how handsome I am." It's clear Pikachu's ego was through the roof. He sat next to his statue, admiring himself through the golden reflection.
Meowth, meanwhile, watched Pikachu. "Maybe for the better, Jessie should capture him." He murmured. Pikachu heard this and came over to Meowth. "What'd you just say, cat boy? Wanna repeat that?" Meowth sighed and walked away. "Hey, scrawny cat, answer me when I ask you something!" Meowth turned to face him. "Why should I? Just because you're popular doesn't give you any right to be annoying." "How DARE you! I'm the mascot! Everyone has to love me!" "No, you're being a d-. No one has to love you." Meowth walked away. Pikachu, left stunned. He quickly shook it off. "He's just jealous he's not number one." Pikachu thought to himself as he sat back down, next to the glistening statue.
Mimikyu came to the stage, when Pikachu left. She stared at the statue, then started running, because she had flashbacks. She bumped into the Vaporeon. "Woah! Are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah... thanks..." Mimikyu shyly responded. "Want me to show you around this town? It's huge!" Vaporeon smiled warmly. "Sure." She replied. They were walking and got to the statue. "This is the stage. It shows off the Pokémon of the year. It hasn't changed since 2014. I actually saw a rag here in the rain in 2013. Kinda like you." "That... was me." Vaporeon was shocked, but not surprised. "So you know about this town? What... even happened that day?..." Mimikyu took a breath, before going into her backstory. "Well, back when there was multiple of the same species, we were 2 Pikachus. He wasn't always this mean. He was kind. A complete sweetheart. He would laugh and say how we were always gonna be best friends. One day, it changed. Something in him... snapped. He found the stage. He said 'I want to be famous!' Charizard was talking to a Leafon. Pikachu shoved me into Charizard's flame, burning me alive. Once the rain poured in and stopped, I was left a burnt Pikachu. I found the skin that was torn off and wore it as a disguise to not show anyone my charred body. Then you came and saved me..." Vaporeon listened intently. "So Pikachu burnt you alive, and you're wearing the remains?" "Yes. He was fame hungry, and he got his fame." "Wow. That's... I'm... I can't believe that happened." Vaporeon sat and gave Mimikyu a hug. Mimikyu hugged back, though it really couldn't because she didn't have arms.
