Can I catch anytype of water pokemon at the beach. Its my first time playing

The Emera Beach has lots of Water types to catch. With the Old Rod, the only Water types available are Tentacool, Goldeen, Magikarp, Remoraid, Azurill, and Tympole. If you upgrade your rod to new levels by talking to Leah the Mermaid, you can catch some new Water Pokemon (ex: Gyarados, Bruxish, Gen 1-5 Water Starters)
