Forum-Index → Diaries → my notebook for vglneed a better place for it. anyways...
also don't ask me any questions why I'm like this, don't post here, and vgl stands for video game lore
oh ya and don't ask me how I know all this because I don't know either
its correct (probably)
Title: soul (currently unfinished)
i know I talk about souls a lot, but I'm gonna be honest, I don't like talking about souls and PEOPLE STOP SELLING EACHOTHER'S SOULS BECAUSE THAT NOT HOW THINGS WORK
...anyways
1. Hollow Knight
Soul is some kind of force generated from the bugs of Hallownest and is the substance that animates their bodies. It can also be used to use spells and heal damage. Soul can also be found in the air.
Some scholars of Soul Sanctum tried to create a pure focus using soul to repel the infection, but failed. The misuse of soul deformed some of the scholars, losing their shapes and becoming some kind of creatures called Mistake and Follies.
Soul can also be put to use with spells, such as Vengeful Soul, Desolate Dive, and Howling Wraith, created by Snail Shamans. While using Focus, soul is used to heal damage.
The Knight (protagonist of Hollow Knight) also missuses soul like the scholars, like taking it from bugs that are still alive. godseeker refers to the Knight as the "eater of soul".
2. Kirby
Ok this is a real mouthful I'm gonna split this up a bit
edit: I just read it again I did not need to add that much💀
Item
Soul Pieces, aka a piece of Leon's soul, is a collectable item in Kirby and the forgotten land. It is a remainder of Leon's shattered soul, scattered around Isolated Isles, Forgo Dreams, by Fecto Forgo.
Boss
Soul bosses are the true final bosses of certain Kirby games, the undead versions of the original living version of the final bosses, and are much more powerful, and they all share some attacks from Drawcia Soul, with the exception of Magolor Soul (and Soul Forgo, who isn't fought and instead absorbed my Morpho Knight). They usually only appear at the end in a mode called the true arena, a hidden boss rush with harder bosses then the arena, and most of them aren't cannon. Here's a list of Soul bosses (that are fought).

Drawcia Soul
Drawcia Soul is the first ever Soul boss in the kirby series. Like I mentioned earlier, most Soul Bosses share her attacks. (ex. Cutter attack, Paint rain, paint ball bounce). She is the only soul boss to appear in the main story mode, making her appearance cannon to the game. However, Canvas Curse, the game she debuted in, isn't a mainline Kirby game.
Marx Soul
Marx Soul is the first soul boss to debut in a mainline Kirby game. He is the true final boss of Kirby Super Star Ultra. It was assumed that Marx met his doom when he crashed into Galactic Nova at the end of Milky Way Wishes. But in the True arena, it is revealed that he survived the crash and his unconscious body began absorbing the power of the nova, and became Marx Soul. After being defeated, he lets out a blood-curdling scream as he slowly splits in half.
Magolor Soul
Magolor Soul is the secret final boss of Kirby's return to Dreamland and its remake. Unlike most soul bosses, Magolor Soul doesn't just appear in the True Arena, he also appears in a mode called Extra Mode, serving as the final boss of the mode. He also appears in the first cutscene showed in Magolor Epilogue. Magolor Soul's fate depends on which game mode he's in. In Extra mode, the ending is pretty much the same as Story mode, as the Master Crown on Magolor's head shatters, and Magolor also gets banished through a portal to Another Dimension, like story mode. However, in the True arena, in the original game, Magolor simply dissipates into nothing, and in the game's remake, Magolor is banished to Another Dimension with the Master Crown still in full control of Magolor.
("The one-eyed wreath" is referencing to The Master Crown)
In Extra mode, there is only one phase. However in the True Arena, there are 2 phases, and in the secound phase, and the two primary eyes that represents what's left of Magolor's soul disappears, and the third eye in his "mouth" is now permanent. Also in the true arena, when he is defeated, he can be heard uttering Kirby's name. In the Sound Test, the audio is called "Free... Me... Kirby..."
Frankly, this soul boss could very easily could have been canon with little less luck, as the Master Crown was extremely close to overpowering Magolor, and he probably would've died.
If you ask me this is probably the most morbid story of a soul boss in the Kirby series (then again...)
Soul of Sectonia
Soul of Sectonia is an undead form of Queen Sectonia and the true Final Boss of Kirby: Triple Deluxe. She is only encountered at the end of The True Arena. The first phase of the battle begins with four Miracle Fruits drifting down above the battlefield in front of Dream Land's moon. Four of Queen Sectonia's parasitic flowers suddenly appear and swiftly devour each of the fruits, followed by Sectonia herself who envelops them all and is reborn as Soul of Sectonia. After once again being defeated from Kirby, Soul of Sectonia decides to unshackle herself from her flower and engage in the battle with Kirby herself.

Star Dream Soul OS
Star Dream Soul OS is the undead form of Star Dream OS and the true final boss of Kirby Planet Robobot. You may be wondering why there is an undead form of ahecking robot. It's plot reasons, I'm
0.1% sure. Well it does kinda work for the lore but
anyways
At the end of Meta Knightmare Returns, Star Dream summons a clone of the Dark Matter Swordsman and Sectonia. When Meta Knihgt defeats them both, it summons Galacta Knight, who destroys Star Dream. However, this causes the final program to activate, transforming it to Star Dream Soul OS in order to survive the otherwise fatal blow.

Void Soul
...this... this boss has basically split the fandom in half. This boss is one of if not the most confusing boss in the history of Kirby. Maybe even worse than were to put TotK on the LoZ timeline...
