I'm so confused by how this works. I have a milcery holding a strawberry sweet and no matter how many times I spin the wheel or who I have doing it, the milcery won't evolve. What am I missing here and why isn't this better explained in the wiki? Am I supposed to have the milcery in my party? Is milcery supposed to spin the wheel? I don't get it and it's frustrating.

Like Orca said, the Milcery you want to evolve needs to be in your party and holding the sweet.

The Pokemon you use for spinning the wheel will determine which kind of Alcremie you get. Relevant are the gender (male/female) and speed stat (higher than 50/lower than 50) of the spinning Pokemon. Also important is time of day (I think it's 6am-6pm=day and 6pm-6am=night)
