How does it work if I pause my radar and then buy an event pass to shiny hunt? Will it even let me? Or do I have to break my chain to do the event pass?

I guess it depends on if you’re shiny hunting with an event pass, then yes, you’ll have to break your current chain to do so.
If not, just pausing your chain is okay but you could technically still shiny hunt without radar on.
