Welcome to Lavender Town, the town revolving around ghosts, death, and more.
They say your rival buries his Raticate here.
They say that the original theme tune to Lavender Town caused headaches, vomiting, thoughts of suicide etc.
The death of Marowak (watch Pokemon Origins).
None of that about the original theme tune is true, except for the fact it could possibly give you possible headaches, but not severe. But if you think ghosts have to be scary, look at Haunters pic from the first games:


Lavender Town has the Pokemon Tower, trainers there say things like 'Give...me...blood..', 'Zombies...' and more.
Never watch Lavender Town stuff on Youtube (or any other place for that matter) late at night, the odd one has a screamer, but most people never add screamers, it is creepy enough anyway.
Lavender Town haunts our childhood lifes, forever.
It is just about the only reason I reconsidered getting a Gameboy and getting Pokemon Yellow.
I haven't even touched some things though. But be glad I haven't touched some of the horridly terrifying things out there.
