As Ethan strolled quietly along the dirt path, memories from his living days came back to him, one by one. He remembered his family. He remembered his few friends. And he remembered his tuxedo cat, Muffin. Ethan was quite sad to let all of that go, but at the same time, it just felt... somewhat right.

Julius stared at Lucinda. He thought about the girl he saved that day. SHE ran around without a care, not noticing the gang if young men standing in an alleyway. He shook his head trying to shake the image out of his head. He could see himself, on the floor, being brutally kicked and stabbed. His last thought before he died was his bloodied hand and a girl running as fast as she could down the street. He rubbed his forehead and tried moving his gaze off Lucinda. Instead he saw Kaori and Athena running down a dark alley. He groaned and felt his stomach. He could feel the enormous scar but decided to follow the two girls anyway. "Careless youngsters," he grumbled.

Kaori's hand flew out, and caught Athena at the wrist. She looked at her with such intensity in her stare, that it seemed to be saying 'Come on. Let's go. He doesn't deserve our attention'

But her katana was also out. She always had it at her side, but some comment from this guy with some nerve was too much. But they were wasting time. The quicker they escaped, the better.

Kaori smiled. "It's okay. I was just about to slit his throat right open anyway" she said, and sheathed her katana. "Besides, we better hurry. It's starting to grow dark, and I heard that demons came out at night."

Kaori followed Athena, though she kept a hand on her katana hilt. Hopefully they would be left alone in peace, but knowing her luck, probably not. But it's worth a try, though she kept a wary glance around her.

"I have another idea. What if we somehow made friends with a government worker who might be able to cause a diversion for you idea of the 'mass escapade'." Kaori suggested. If anybody heard their conversation, they both might be sentenced to death, or even worse, endless death.
