Ok these might not actually make you smile. But they should.

I'm a middle schooler who had to deal with finals for the first time 3 months ago. Life really picked up speed for me when COVID hit, as I was leaving 5th grade. While my school counts 6th grade as elementary, it was relatively hard, but due to COVID we had Fridays off, so that made it bearable. Then I entered middle school this September. It's HARD ;-;. I swear I have this one teacher out to drown me in homework. But I spend at least 4 evenings a week sitting in bed stressing over the 5 homework assignments. And puberty also stinks. So I look for other forms of joy to relax in the evenings after homework is done, while I'm doing it, or even before. There are a lot of forums on here that I love reading, art, role playing, the clicklists, my friend on Scratch's animations, a Youtuber here and there, etc. Knowing I feel this overwhelmed when others see my test grades as a resemblance of if a test is difficult, and that there are many people out there who are in high school, college, have frustrating jobs, or even don't have a job, I want to give back some of that joy.
I could put anything on here. A funny story about school, me fighting one of my closet friends (our fights are actually rather humerous and we are really close don't worry this won't be a forum thread of my drama), a cute little animation I made, the occasional joke or meme, a short story, anything. I hope these bring you joy and remove some stress from your day <3

(also I'll go back and make this look nicer once I have a handful of views)

Title: King Solomon's 700 wives

At my school, we have odd periods (1 3 5 7) on red days and even periods (2 4 6 8) on white days. My first period is Bible and third period history. For some reason, the boys in my Bible class (they often continue their game in the history classroom until 3rd period starts) love playing this game they made up. When it started, it was just rock paper scissors. The kid who lost had to accept a dare from the kid who won. But this is seventh grade boys, remember. Almost every dare became 'ask so-and-so on a date'. So it changed to the loser had to ask somebody on a date. As time went on, the rules evolved. You can only ask a specific person once per day. Teachers are ok. You have to lose to 2 people at once to ask out an 8th grader. You have to lose to 4 people at once for a high schooler. The Bible teacher is really low-key, but he also teaches high school and was in a different part of the school for SAT tests today. So we had a sub. She wasn't over-the-top strict, but stricter than what some kids were used to for this class. Today in Bible we journaled 1 Kings 11. Which talks about King Solomon. And how he had 700 wives. And 300 concubines. So a group of about 7 people were playing the rock-paper-scissors game. The sub walked over to them and asked them to stop unless what they were doing was somehow related to the Bible worksheet. All the kids looked slightly dissapointed, until one of them spoke up and said "it is. It's called King Solomon's 700 wives." At that point all the kids just cracked up. The teacher actually accepted it and walked away. Even though that name was just to answer the teacher, I have a good feeling it will stick.

Also no, I did not hear this because I was playing. I heard this because they play right in front of my desk for some reason.
And I have plenty more stories from this game, you have not heard the last of it.

Title: Lack of fear

I bought Pokemon Legends Arceus on Sunday. Unfortunately I never finished the tuturiol and then when my brothers decided to play mario party they didn't bother telling me and I had to restart today. This has no PLA spoilers, FYI. But anyway, the professor is constantly saying how incredible it is you aren't scared to approach wild Pokemon. I finally entered the Galactic corps, and Rei was giving me some final tips, when we got to the pool with Buizel. I had found out when fighting the Shinx that my reflexes were not built for this game, the Pokemon kept hitting me. But anyway, I was dodging a Buizel's attacks when I somehow ended up right next to him. I'm honestly not really sure what I was doing, but I guess I assumed since he wasn't loading up a quick attack it was ok to touch him. It wasn't. So, Professor Laventon, the only reason I'm not scared to approach wild Pokemon is because you didn't give me all the details...

Title: Music raises feelings

Today in band we were so far ahead of schedule the teacher chose a special activity. He had this 30 minute ballet/music piece (I don't remember the name) and we had to listen to the song and if we thought we knew the story, we wrote our guess up on the whiteboard. The plot ended up being a Russian girl found a cult doing a ritual in the woods, she couldn't escape so she joined in, they summon an evil spirit, and the girl kills herself in order to be a host for the spirit or something. Here's a list of some of the ideas I remember:
Making music that's crappy
Getting your test back from the teacher
Me and the boys at 3 am hunting for beans
Grandma running from a train
A mom trying to get to the store before it closes
Mcdonalds bathroom
Eating Tacobell
Children running from Biden
The conductor has left the building

there was more I'll edit if I remember more but seriously this was a scary piece and we get eating TACOBELL?

Title: Now Hiring!

My school highly supports new experiences, so every 8 weeks or so we switch up our 7th and 8th periods (unless you're in a musical elective than you only switch one or neither). I got my new 7th period class today, it's intro to law enforcement. According to my friend who has had the class before (and is thankfully in it this time with me or I'd be the only girl), more or less we listen to stories from the teacher about when he was a chaplin in different prisons/jails and sometimes there are guest speakers. (ex. my friend's dad might come in since he's a cop, my dad might come in since he's an air marshal.) But anyway, today he showed a powerpoint in class to introduce himself, and the last prison he worked at is relatively close to the school. He mentioned how recently there has been a 'now hiring' sign on the prison gate when he drives by the building, and he's never seen anything like it before. Of course, since this is a room 90% full of middle school boys, this somehow got lost in translation, and one kid asks, "They're hiring prisoners???" The whole class started laughing and some other boy just goes "The application is to rob a convienence store!" or something like that.
