2022 Valentines Event Mon mechanics
Forum-Index → Discussion → 2022 Valentines Event Mon mechanicsCherose are the Emera Event-version of Cherubi, a Grass-type Pokémon from the Sinnoh region.
The original Event Distribution was that you get a Cherose egg if you sent out 5 Valentines Cards to 5 different users. Your mon is auto-nicknamed after a person who sent you a (not anonymous) card: a name is randomly picked from the list of players you received (not anon) cards from. Gender is considered: your pokemon's gender (randomly assigned) determines the 'pool' of names is picked from (players who did not give a gender when registering, can name both female and male Cherose). If you only received anon Valentines cards, then your Event mon will not have a nickname automatically assigned to it.
If you sent a card back to the person your pokemon is named after,
then your Cherose is 'Requited' (=mutual love).
If you did not,
then your Cherose is 'Unrequited' (=onesided love).
Cherose Requited evolve into Cheribloom (a rose) at level 25.
Cherose Unrequited evolve into Cheriwilt (a wilted rose) at level 25.
So far, other forms of this Mon are yet unknown.
I wonder how this mechanic works when breeding in Daycare. And I wonder how it will work once we can get them at Event Shop.
Now I have two event-distribution Cherose (Requited) in Daycare. First Event egg they produced was Cherose (Unrequited). The day that egg was made, I had received more interactions than I had given. And I had not completed my ''Unreturned Favors'' clicklist.
My hypothesis about Daycare:
The Cherose Egg produced in Daycare will be Requited if your ''Unreturned Favors'' clicklist is zero (and your ''Interactions made'' is equal or greater than your ''Interactions received'') on the day the Egg was made.
Otherwise, the mons at Daycare will only produce Cherose Unrequited.
.....This is just a theory (so far). I'll try to test it. And might be interesting to discuss this new Event Mon. I'll check this forum thread a bit later, and add more findings. Just thought might be a cool idea to put all info on this pokemon in one place. And I couldn't find a thread about it, and couldn't find a Wiki article. Hence thread.
So I now think the Requited/Unrequited are randomly assigned. With equal probability 0,5 for Requited and Unrequited.
Title: first Documentation
Says it's No longer obtainable.
And is Breedable.
(I wonder if that means it won't be added to Event Shop?? Or will be added later.)
Nice to see all the sprites listed on the Database page. This confirms that there are only 4 different forms of this mon:
- Cherose Requited
- Cheribloom
- Cherose Unrequited
- Cheriwilt
Title: probability for Unrequited and Requited
4 of the eggs have been Unrequited
1 of the eggs was Requited.
So when breeding Cherose Requited, looks like the probability to get
Unrequited eggs = 0,8 (or 80% = 4 in 5)
Requited eggs = 0,2 (or 20% = 1 in 5).
Gonna test if PokéRadar sees Requited Cherose differently from Unrequited.
I'm starting with an Unrequited Cherose Egg.
If subsequent Requited Cherose break my shiny chain, then PokéRadar sees these two variants of Cherose as different pokemon species. (And that would make it more difficult to shiny chain. Because both types of Cherose can be randomly obtained from a Cherose breeding pair. And this is an Event Mon. So it's already rare to get Event Eggs. And then you would have to avoid adopting Requited Cherose eggs... cause they would break your chain.) That would be a pain. And make the shiny hunt that much longer.
