Everyone is saying that you can only get black mystery keys from the gem cauldron? That's a lie. I just discovered I have a black mystery key and I only just bought the gem cauldron today. I haven't even used the cauldron yet!

The key had to come from somewhere...

Anyways. Is it more worth it to me to buy a black mystery box to open or to sell the key?

Well, you were able to get a black mystery key from the advent calender once, besides gem cauldron and trading with other users

The price for a black mystery box seems to be around 14k at the moment according to the Market Insider.

The possible items you can get from the box are:
Full Moon Island (Map) - 230k
New Moon Island (Map) - 240k
Griseous Crystal - 60k
Griseous Pearl - No data in the Market Insider yet, cheapest ones sold at the item market are around 100k right now.

So at best, buying a box would net you around 226k and at worst 46k.

Meanwhile, a black key is worth around 290k. Huh... So it seems like in this economy, it's actually wiser to sell the key and just buy what you would've wanted to get from the box. Interesting. :,D
