Kynik had broken expectations but this wasn't really something
unexpected for himself. Enough of the observations it was time to
start making connections and getting to know the students he'd be
working with for the next three years. Waiting too long would
likely leave him with some problems in social circles.
He focuses on the other leg, listening to the reply of the man he'd
broken the ice with. "Monsters huh? Could be fun, could be
terrifying. Well running in silence is a lot less interesting than
running for your life." He runs a few fingers through the front of
his hair brushing it away from his forehead on standing up. "They
say fighting an animal is a lot different from fighting a person.
Just as predictable however the way they work is on a completely
different ladder than our level standards." He stretches an arm
over the other, cupping his upper arm with a hand.
He looks to the side with a bit of concern watching a good bit of
his peers fail to properly access most of potential situations they
were getting themselves into. "You know, I kind of feel bad. Given
the climb they had us do for the ceremony yesterday, you'd think
our classmates would have the idea that if they're making us do
something outside this early in the morning that there's a strong
possibility of some less than desirable physicality involved."
He switches arms before continuing. "I fear they might regret it if
they don't do some form of warm-ups. They mentioned we're going
trekking so we're obviously walking somewhere but a trek usually
involves... Not having a flat floor. Rough terrain can lead to
sprains if you're not careful."
"Probably haha" Samton said in a half joking manner.
"Alright students, time for the trek. Sir Fisch and Prof Angler
will accompany you." Sparmi's voice was loud and clear as it rang
throughout. Prof Angler asked all the mages to line up, and Sir
Fisch all the knights. Then they began to take attendance.
Samton, upon hearing Sparmi's call, got up and adjusted his cloak.
"The seats will disappear after a while. We better get moving."
Cherail simply stood in the mist of crowds and walked behind the
crowd. She liked having closure and ground against people ... She
hoped it made her seem more standoffish. The mage looked down at
her hands and shock ruled her as quickly as a cheetah. She had
forgotten her mother's spell book underneath her bed.
Cherail hesitated for a moment, quickly fidgeted with her hands,
and decided to go and grab it before they gotten outside. She
sprinted to the dorms and peeked under the bed. It was there, to
her hyperventilating, and she grabbed it's crisp edges before
sprinting back. She returned to the crowd, looking at the book's
burnt cover and becoming relieved that she run fast.

Xavier stopped stretching for a bit as he listened to Kynik talk
"Well everyone has different levels of physical abilities but I'm
sure that the other students would have a general idea of what's to
come" Xavier said as he continued to stretch "But I'm sure that a
few of the fellow students won't be physically fit enough to have
the energy to complete the trek and would need some help, and I'm
guessing that most of the mages would have a hard time" Xavier took
a quick glance at the small group if students a little ways away
from them two "But even we won't know exactly what's to come as we
are still unfamiliar with the area of the school and there are
multiple factors that will affect our trek"
Xavier sat down to have a small break from stretching "But whatever
happens I'll be willing to risk my life to save the others if it
ever comes down to it. After all protecting people is a knight's
main job" Xavier stood up after hearing the announcement and got
ready to line up with the other students
"I doubt not your words." Kynik gestures towards a nearby group in
a causal brush of an arm seeming to not want to draw too much
attention to it. "You are right. Let's help where we can and
hopefully they'll grow to Academy physical standards. As it is,
battle mages don't do much standing on the battlefield either.
While not quite as deadly as the real world, our stay here is bound
to wind up just as much of a battlefield. "
His head snaps towards the sound of Sparmi's announcement and waves
goodbye to his talking companion while jogging towards his own
place in the Knight's lineup. Maybe they would talk again
later.
Standing in place, the man sounds off when it was his turn in the
attendance roll and continue waiting further instruction.
Thalia joins the queue of mages, blowing of a spark of fire on some
flaxseed. She seemed unperturbed by the immense smoke puffing out
from the fire. She dipped the berries inside, before storing them
back into her pouch. “Dawn, Dusk, come.” She spoke, her voice low
and slightly threatening. The two capered around her legs, as she
slipped a message around Dawn’s neck. She then knelt down,
whispering as softly as she could “You know where to go. Go with
Dusk” Then, she sent them off, before throwing the flaxseed away,
not caring where it landed.
“Cya Samton, make sure not to die~” Kayeru said in a joking manner
as she made her way to the mages’ lineup ”I should probably use
that advice myself to make sure I won’t passed out halfway, still a
better outcome than go trekking for who knows how long” she
thought to herself as she silently stared at Thalia why did they
allow her to join again?
Cherail walked up to the line where he mages formed together. She
stood at the end and clenched her book to her chest, she was still
panting from her run to get the book, and the instructors were sure
to notice her drain.
Her foot tapped crazily, as if she had just been diagnosed with a
horrible illness, it was a tremendous wait and the call just
started.

"Cya, I guess?" Samton said as he joined the line, directly after
Kayeru did. Tien gave a chuckle as he joined Sir Fisch's line.
As everyone joined, Prof Angler spoke up. "Today we will be
climbing up to the northern shrine. As you may have noticed there
is a forest past the shrine. We will see your individual skills
then. Well, let's start climbing."
With this, the two lines started for the northern shrine, where the
ceremony was held yesterday.
"Oh, and by the way, your breakfast will be after this, but we have
arranged some beverages near the shrine. Boost your stamina well
enough so that you will not faint."
Aspen frowned, fiddling with his cloak's clasps, gazing up at the
sun. Physical activities were always a little more challenging for
him, even though he was training to be a knight. Sighing, he tugged
once more at his boot's laces, stretched slightly, then slowly
removed his white gloves, keeping his hands hidden in his pockets,
following the queue, comfortably at the back.
Earnest grinned. A Fire and Energy-centered mage like him would
have to trouble with a simple climb; if worst came to worst, he
could always...well, bring a little spice to his surroundings, and
use Energy to boost himself. He jogged slightly in pace, warming
himself up.
'I'm late I'm late I'm late!' Elliot thought as he sprinted up the
hill to where the other people were gathered, and stopped there,
wondering what they were about to do.
Juzi walked slowly up the hill, not really caring whether she was
late or not, petting Ezria in her hands and walking with delicate
steps. She reached where the other people were gathered and
stopped, looking around. "Guess we're going hiking..." She
whispered to Ezria, "Good thing I wore comfortable clothes.."

am." - Oreki Houtarou
Bailey was in panicked mode as she tried to get her school cloths
on. It was a struggle as she ran to school trying to put on her
shoes. After a few seconds she managed to get there panting from
running and had no clue where to go. She wandered around for a bit
soon coming to a hill and seeing Elliot and two others behind them.
“ hey um do you know where to go” she asked them shyly at first.
Cherali (Been misspelling her name this entire time!) had been
waiting for an almost impossible task to be handed to her. The
shrine seemed like a tremendously long walk that the mage did not
have time for. Actually, correction, she did have all her
life, but laziness is a welcomed adversity in her area.
She sighed, looked down to her book, and clutched it tighter in her
arms. The book was warm to the touch, not warm enough to use as a
fire, of course, but just warm. It did have fire elemental magic
coursing through it, so it was to be expected to be warm. Cherali
liked it's warmth, it was as if was a midnight fire whispering it's
final breaths to her.
Kayeru was using her wind magic to navigate through the areas, she
used it to fly up the trees sometimes to scout the area a bit
before continuing, although with her low stamina this was still
extremely difficult ”it’s the first day why did it have to be so
exhausting?! And I’m barely halfway there!” she thought as she
continued walking through the forest, wasnt there supposed to be
some beasts here again? Even if there were she doubts she has any
problems dealing with it, atleast she hopes she doesnt. Why
is the shrine so far away again?!
"Where are the beasts?! They should be here right?" She
thought where were the beasts were, then she had an idea. She took
out her notebook and write something on it: Gekko can you help
me? Gekko understood and nodded, she smell the air and ground,
helping Eclipse finding the beast.
Lyan sighed, she knew that this was coming, but she still didn't
want to go hiking. Out of all things, hiking had to be first, it
was her least favourite physical activity to do. Lyan looked
around, most had begun their hike already. Lyan headed into the
woods, she heard that there were beasts in this area, but she
didn't know how strong they were, so she didn't want to fight them
yet. In case of the worst scenario, she wanted some back-up.
Luckily for her, Lyan saw a person just ahead of her, the person
had a mage uniform on, so they were probably also part of the hike.
Lyan quickly hid behind a tree as quietly as she could, in just the
span of some seconds she had come up with a plan. She was going to
follow this particular mage, just in case they would stumble upon a
very strong beast.
The trek was easier than yesterday, Samton felt. As he reached the
shrine, he found tables filled with a variety of teas and coffees,
many kinds of juices, and much more.
"Drink yourself full. Do not go to the forest without enough
energy." Prof. Angler said as he picked up a cup of ristretto. Sir
Fisch himself chose watermelon juice.
Samton picked up some chocolate milk and began to drink, even going
far enough to take a second cup, all the while not breaking the
mannerisms he has been educated on.
Tien's eyes, or rather nose, was caught by Chamomile tea. Drinking
it made him feel his decision was not a mistake.
"Remember Principal Sparmi's guide when you do go in, students. Do
NOT attack any beast which does not have the dark element, unless
they attack first. Do not provoke them, either. Beasts are just as
a part of the ecosystem as animals are, after all. In case it gets
dangerous, run this way. Do not get other students in trouble too."
Sir Fisch's command came loud and clear, followed by her taking
another sip from her watermelon juice. "You have until 7. Defeat at
least one each. You are free to come and go from here as you
please."
Clemensia hadn't complained. In her eyes, the trek up the "Steep
hill" was nothing more then a refreshing challenge. "Why are
people complaining so much?"she wondered. "Humph. Mother and
Father would never approve." she thought. Taking for herself a
small cup of green tea, she observes her surroundings and the
people in them. Few she recognized, but many she did not. Clemensia
wondered what her parents would say if they saw her 'potential'
classmates.
His smile has a grip on me <3
Agent Fallows, signing out~
Thalia climbed up the hill with relative ease. Upon reaching the
shrine, she picked up a cup of milk, dipped a vial of blood into
it, then downed it like she was taking a shot. She then took out a
separate glass, one of those small alcohol ones, and downed what
smelled suspiciously like Vodka, or vinegar. The moment Dawn and
Dusk returned, she sprinted off, to hunt down a beast.
Cherali breathed in and out, she walked up the hill doing so. Her
book was secure in her left arm and a small cup of green tea was
with her other. She gulped it down and retreated to the forest's
borders. It was an easy forest to travel, with not too many vines,
not too few vines.
The mage walked forward, she had to defeat a dark creature?
Well, at least I'm can do fire magic ... with the help of a
book Cherali frowned. After a few minutes, her walking stopped
to investigate a bush. It had pinkish berries on it and a blue bug.
The bug had eight little legs and had an exoskeleton that looked to
be like armor. Cherali tried to touch the bug, but a fume of water
was squirted in her face. She wiped it off using her sleeve and
started to observe the berries.
The bug retracted the second Cherali picked a berry and squirted
her with even more water. Cherali angrily wiped it off and tried
everything she could to get a berry or the bug. All of her attempts
ended with water.
I'll have to write about this on later, she thought, I'll
call it ... a Hydrohoarder!
Cherali continued to explore the forest, while the bug keeper kept
it's crawl on the pink berry bush, happy that the berry picker
retreated.
