The Crown of Cothysmos
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The Crown of CothysmosThere are two kingdoms- The Kingdom of the Raven and the Kingdom of the Swan. The two of them exist in perfect harmony, side by side, allies in war, friends in peace. When one kingdom falls on hard times, they simply have to call on the other. But, peace cannot last forever. An artifact was stolen, and a powerful one at that. The Crown of Cothysmos. This belonged to the dragons, who, in their rage, came and attacked the two kingdoms. The Ravens believed that the Swans had brought this upon them, while the Swans believed it was the Ravens. While the dragons raged, they turned on themselves, bringing utter chaos. There are a few, however, who believe otherwise, and they are determined to find out who in fact, stole the Crown, led by a former Swan soldier by the name of Kayleen.
Each of you is going about your day. Perhaps you're a citizen, trying to ignore the chaos of the world, wishing that the battiling would end and the dragons would dissapear. Maybe you're a soldier, reluctant to return to another day of battiling against the people that you have seen many times, perhaps even grown to know in the ventures into the oppisite kingdoms before all of this needless fighting. One thing that you all have in common is that you want the war to end. You want the chaos to stop and things to go back to as they were before. But perhaps, just perhaps, something will happen. As your day starts, there is a sense of new beggenings. Bleakened, perhaps, by the hopelessness in the air, but still present. Who knows?
Kayleen stood in front of her makeshift home in the Borderlands, stretching her arms as she looked at the rising sun. Evrey morning, habits from her time as general, she would run across the scraggy rocks on the Blue Mountain. It was one of the few things keeping her from going mad. She glanced at her armor, newly polished, leaning against the doorway. She missed the days she could don it proudly. Now all that it brought was memories of rejection and needless fighting. Kayleen shook her head. She couldn't start getting sentimental. Right now was a time to clear her head. Taking a breath of the fresh morning air, she started off, arms pumping.

She smiled, as she wrapped herself in a jacket and walked outside onto her porch. Luckily, she lived right in the middle of the kingdom, so it wasn't lucked that she woke up to a bustling town with merchants and shopkeepers, running around and selling their product.
The second she stepped off of her porch is the second she was bombarded with offers from perfumes to herbs. Some were even good deals, like a cut diamond for half off ... Or maybe it wasn't that good of an offer. Nuabel, after a few seconds, shrugged off all the merchants and sighed under her breath. She had known that the dragon was making all the citizens panic and worry, and she wishes it could stop too. Yesterday, at her cartographer's office, she had about five more people wanting a map of the entire land, not just a map of the two kingdoms. Most of them said on their fear of the dragon and chaos just isn't for them.
She kept her walk down the stone path of the streets, bustling and loud, Nuabel stepped forward to her offices.

Kayleen herself had stopped for a rest on her run, sitting down on a rock. She looked up, thinking that the running was getting to her and she was seeing things, but the scroll was placed in her hand, before the pixie dissapeared. She watched where it had vanished, before looking down at the scroll.
Their family was very traditional; while it was somewhat acceptable for a woman of her age to remain with her family after reaching adulthood, that was only the case if she had a logical reason. Hers was that her father was an injured veteran, unable to work a farm, and her mother very sickly, so therefore they couldn't look after her brother as effectively. Once he became an adult, however, he would be expected to marry, start his own household, and therefore Peregrine would be moving out, too. The chances of her ever marrying were very slim, what with her skin being the way it was, and therefore she would likely be living on her own. But that was neither here nor there, and no big deal, she told herself. Solitude was fine with her.
Carefully, she unrolled the scroll, her bright teal eyes flashing across it, scanning the writing. Surprise gave way to confusion, which in turn morphed into intrigue. What on Earth was this?

As she looked up, a small flash caught her eye, and she followed the light outside. When she had caught up, Kumi saw that it was a small pale purple pixie with shimmery wings. Then, the pixie vanished. Kumi looked down surprised, as she noticed that there was a slip of paper, rolled up like a scroll, neatly tucked into her front pocket.

Kayleen opended the scroll, quite confused at its message. King Nexus was supposed to have died hundreds of years ago. How could he have written this? She stared at the scroll, thinking. It seemed like this message would come to sevreal people, and she needed to know who they were.
This woman was exiled a long time ago, and it is past time she 'encountered and accident.' this job will pay well, so be hasty." Margo shredded the paper in her hands, and then pulled out the scroll. After scanning it, she thought, well,I don't entirely believe it, but it's on my way! she giggled quietly, insanely, and hopped off the roof to the street bellow.
After reading it, she sat back, thinking. According to a book she read, King Nexus of the Dragons had died long back before she was born. Things didn't quite add up, because if he did indeed had written the letter, then who would she meet when she did arrive upon the Borderlands? In any case, Kumi knew she must go there and check it out, even if it was a fake, or even a trap. Kumi started to prepare for the trip.

Nuabel brainstormed a bit, only sweeping out the most thoughts of hers. The only two that stayed if it were a trap from the Swans or an all-out fallacy of text. She nodded her head, turned around to her cottage, walked over there, and started her preparation for the journey.
